@Jesskir89 Yes I'm ok. Finding it all very tiring this time around.. my daughter is 5 and there's so much Christmas stuff going on. I'm looking forward to some time off to take it easy!!

How about you?

whiskersonkittenss · 17/12/2019 16:43

When is everyone planning to start mat leave? I'm 28+6 now and my leave starts when im 34 weeks. Seems like so far away lol.

Seren1979 · 17/12/2019 17:25

Mine starts when my water's break! I don't have holidays left and can only take 6 weeks off after so need to make my 6weeks last.

MissPepper8 · 17/12/2019 17:38

@whiskersonkittenss Close friend just took hers (she's a assistant teacher) she took hers at 38 weeks, she struggled though bless her.

I'm quite lucky, I'm a stay at home mum with DS but the issue will be my DM, I've had two emergency incidents and been quite lucky she's been able to go early by her boss to look after or come with me with DS. But we're screwed as she doesn't have holidays until 3 weeks after I'm due.

I don't know what we're going to do if I go into labour in the day, PIL are an hour away too.

Jesskir89 · 17/12/2019 18:23

@ttc19 I'm doing OK thanks it is a tiring time of year though lol @seren1979 lucky you! Haha how come you only get 6 weeks? @whiskersonkittenss that's only 5 weeks away! I'm going to try and work up to end of Feb so I'll be 37 weeks then

Seren1979 · 17/12/2019 19:09

Money! I dont get maternity pay after 6 weeks and i cant afford to live on the statutory mat pay Sad

DaniX91 · 17/12/2019 19:09

@whiskersonkittenss mine is set for March 1st so I'll be 38 weeks. @MissPepper8 I'm also a teaching assistant ☺️.
I break up for Christmas on Thursday, then 8 weeks to go!

MockingJay27 · 17/12/2019 19:16

My maternity leave officially starts march 11th, but I have a couple of weeks unused annual leave from this year so I'll be finishing around Feb 24th.

maria94 · 17/12/2019 20:18

What's everyone's blood pressure been like? Just noticed in my mat notes that mines gone up slightly.. 125/77. Does that sound about right? 😬

ttc19 · 17/12/2019 20:34

@Jesskir89 When is your due date? Mines the 19th.. @whiskersonkittenss I'll try and work up to the end of Feb too where I'll be 37 weeks x

Jesskir89 · 17/12/2019 20:47

@seren1979 that crap :( were really lucky as we were ttc so long we managed to save and dh has a good job. @maria94 that looks fine :) don't forget you're carrying more blood. @ttc19 it was 20th but knocked back to 21st March :)

MockingJay27 · 17/12/2019 20:47

@maria94 mine is 100/60

MockingJay27 · 17/12/2019 20:48

@ttc19 we have the same due date 😆

I'm only going off from 34 weeks as I can use annual leave (mine runs from jan-dec) before my mat pay/leave starts. If I didn't have the holiday left I'd be leaving as late as possible.
I caught a cold after sitting in the walk in centre for my GTT the other day. I feel like my heads going to explode Angry

atomcats · 18/12/2019 06:16

I’m planning to go off from 38 weeks, but I’m starting to think that’s a tad optimistic as I have an hours drive each way to work (and that’s without traffic so often more like 1hr 20...). I think it’s silly you plan for mat leave during the “nice” period of the second trimester so I’m worried my future uncomfortable self will hate me 😂😂

Jesskir89 · 18/12/2019 08:35

@ttc19 very close :) and I don't have Facebook but thank you for the tip. Has anyone else not had their matb1 form yet? I've got a scan on 3rd Jan so I'm going to ask then but seems late. My midwife said work don't need it yet...

barnyb · 18/12/2019 08:59

@Jesskir89 I think she should have given it to you at your appointment after you had your 20 weeks scan ? Not sure that's when I got mine and also my work said I need it next time you go which was then!
Xxxx

barnyb · 18/12/2019 09:04

@atomcats how far gone are you now?
I also did plan mine when I was feeling good. But now I'm nearly 30 weeks and I'm really really struggling at work. I will be leaving end of jan.
Iv had to finish for Xmas a day early because I was struggling yesterday with tiredness and back ache. Xxxx

barnyb · 18/12/2019 09:06

@Seren1979 who do you plan on having baby when you go back to work? I still don't know what we will do yet xx

Jesskir89 · 18/12/2019 09:14

@barnyb my work haven't said much about it but I thought this is a bit late I'll be 29 weeks by time I get it x

barnyb · 18/12/2019 09:25

@Jesskir89 well at least they haven't said anything so just don't bring it up! xxxx

Jesskir89 · 18/12/2019 09:38

I won't just hope they put it through in time xx

Seren1979 · 18/12/2019 11:04

@barnyb, i've already booked her into childminder from 2nd week may for one day, my parents are doing 2/3 days and hubby is doing 1 or 2 days depending on his weekly rota

atomcats · 18/12/2019 11:18

@barnyb I’m 26 weeks, but definitely feel like I’m at the tail end of the second trimester niceness!! Sorry to hear that you are struggling, hopefully the end being in sight is helping!

@Jesskir89 is there a way to request the form earlier? Although I’m aware that might not be possible with Christmas / new year etc. I know where I work we have to submit it 15 weeks before due date but that’s just so payroll can sort it all out. There are some people who don’t know until they are really late on and still manage to get paid so I wouldn’t worry too much if that’s the earliest you can get it. I submitted mine last week as it took three weeks just to get a response from HR!
