@Jesskir89 thanks lovely! It really has been a long few days but the end is in sight.. (I hope!!!) how are you getting on? Xx

barnyb · 06/03/2020 21:49

@maria94 oh my goodness I can’t believe it! It’s like your body is stopping out of sympathy for me! Lol lol don’t leave me behiiiiiind! 😂😫
Iv had nothing at all after that bloomin sweep! lol I have to laugh otherwise I’ll cry. I can’t believe it either! The 2nd of March will haunt me forever haha
Oh god I hate it when they say take a painkiller!
I had a lot of dizziness and blurred vision a week ago and I called up and they said take a paracetamol! Iv never been given such awful advice lol. Paracetamol for dizziness 👍🏼👍🏼

Xxx

maria94 · 06/03/2020 21:57

@barnyb hahah we'll have our babies on the same day now you've said that!😂 I wish they'd only let you go 1 week overdue and not 2! My next sweep is next Wednesday but my midwife is so confident baby will be here by then she didn't even arrange a time/write it down, so let's hope she does come soon lol. Paracetamol for dizziness?! How ridiculous!! Xx

thankful16 · 06/03/2020 22:15

@maria94 I know, I've been reading your posts on here about your contractions over the last few days that's why I'm not getting my hopes up about baby being here soon lol. It must be so frustrating for your Good to know that it could possibly mean a quick labour though, that would be great but again I won't count on it lol! Just wasn't sure if what I was experiencing was even contractions. I've always read and heard that they feel like period pains but mine feel different to that, they are more sharp and painful but still bearable of that make sense though they are getting a wee bit more sore now and seem to be picking up a bit

maria94 · 06/03/2020 22:22

@thankful16 I really hope this is it for you!! Yeah mine don't feel too period pain like either.. just a very very intense pain around the bottom of my bump and lower back! The bottom of my back feels really tense in between contractions too. Not fun! Have you started timing them?😁

thankful16 · 06/03/2020 22:46

@maria94 yeah that's were mine are, at the bottom of my bump. For some reason I thought I'd feel the pain higher up or all over but suppose there's still time for that lol! I have lent had too much pain in my back yet. I've been timing them for the last hour and they're happening about every 9 minutes at the moment and getting a bit more intense but they aren't lasting long still. Maybe 30 seconds at the most.

thankful16 · 07/03/2020 02:41

Just back from hospital. It got a bit too much for me and contractions were coming every 3 to 4 minutes and lasting 40 seconds to a minute. Got checked out and I'm officially in the early stages of labour but only 2 - 3cm dilated so was recommended to go home and once it ramps up to last over a minute every few minutes for about 2 hours then I can go back though can also go back before that if it gets too much for me. I'm rubbish at handling these contractions, I thought I'd be better, I keep tensing up and panicking. I'm trying to remember my breathing but it just goes out the window lol

atomcats · 07/03/2020 07:58

@thankful16 that’s super exciting that you are officially in labour! I’m sorry that you are feeling that way about it and I hope you are able to find something to help distract / relax you as much as possible. Fingers crossed it will be over soon and you’ll meet your little one!!

Jesskir89 · 07/03/2020 11:45

@maria94 compared to you I can't complain lol 38 weeks today and just aching all over. Hope you ladies get your babies soon x

MissPepper8 · 07/03/2020 13:19

Well I thought I lost a bit of plug.. Nope.. That came yesterday before my sweep 🤢

Had a proper sweep yesterday, wasn't very pleasant all day. I'm in alot of pain and I've had bleeding. It's scared me to be honest, I never did this with DS and I keep getting contradicting advice (like ring ASAP if bright red, then told its normal).

Think at this point I don't care when baby comes just relief if he/she is OK lol :(

Exciting everyone else is progressing, midwife told me about optimal fetal position (like squatting ect) I did that and lost plug next morning. She also told me to have sex after the sweep, but no one was going near me last night lol.

barnyb · 07/03/2020 19:39

Hello all! How are we all doing? So much exciting news on here so far this weekend I can't wait for more! Still no changes for me 😑 xx

maria94 · 07/03/2020 20:03

@MissPepper8 my midwife also suggested that.. absolutely no chance that's happening no matter how desperate I am for baby to come lol! How is the bleeding now? Hope it's settled down. X

@barnyb still here.. still pregnant. Argh!! Xx

barnyb · 07/03/2020 20:12

@maria94 crikey! No contractions today? my belly keeps tightening but that’s about it! Iv been packing up my house today so that kept me busy but now I’m back to wondering about this little poppet! Xxx

jollybobs89 · 07/03/2020 20:16

@barnyb still pregnant! Not had much of an appetite today? Anyone else feeling the same? Also got pregnancy rhinitis not sure if any of you guys have had this but it's horrible and it's hit me today bad! Nose eyes streaming with water nothing works 😪

maria94 · 07/03/2020 20:19

@barnyb I've had a few random ones today but they've not developed into a pattern, ugh. I'm a bit worried as my midwife hasn't arranged another appointment if I still haven't given birth soon. She said she will come see me next Wednesday at home but didn't set a time and said she isn't even going to write it down because she's confident baby will be here before then... what if she's not?! I wouldn't mind having an induction date booked in.. just incase!😖

Has your sweep not had much of an effect then? Do you have anymore booked in? Xx

barnyb · 07/03/2020 20:35

@maria94 why don’t you call the midwife on Monday morning (if baby isn’t here yet) and just set up a time so you know there is something booked in just incase. My second sweep is booked for Thursday. but induction will have to take place at 40+12 so that’s Saturday. so I don’t know if when I go Thursday she will book me to go in on Saturday? no idea !
My sweep gave me a sore tummy and I lot a bit of plug but that’s literally all it’s done. She was so positive about what she could feel she was acting like I’m good to go very soon etc.. but I guess it’s really a big guessing game for everyone.
@jollybobs89 yes I have had evenings when I haven’t wanted dinner and had to force something. Iv also lost my appetite as in, don’t fancy anything in particular and iv gone off anything smelly or garlicky ! can’t stand cooking smells in the house. lots of sandwiches and cheese and crackers lol lol

Xxx

AnxiousandExcited · 07/03/2020 21:36

Hello everyone! I've been off Mumsnet for ages and haven't read everyones posts so sorry if I don't reply to someone.
Good news!
Baby boy was born on Monday night - techncally Tuesday morning at 12.38am. I was in hospital from Sunday night, then induced Monday evening for various reasons but all went smoothly from then and a short 4 hour labor later our third boy was born!
I'm still very tired and not been back at the computer until now (was in hospital til Thursday), and not going to be back on MUmsnet for a bit still, so might not see any messages.
Good luck to everyone who hasn't had their babies yet!

Jesskir89 · 07/03/2020 22:22

@anxiousandexcited congratulations that was a fast labour!

atomcats · 07/03/2020 22:54

@AnxiousandExcited congratulations! Hope you baby are doing well

barnyb · 07/03/2020 22:59

@AnxiousandExcited CONGRATULATIONS 🥳 ❤️

fibeee · 08/03/2020 03:10

Any pregnant insomniacs out there tonight? 🙋‍♀️

Think I’ve had about 30 minutes of sleep due to raging heartburn, a dancing baby and generally high anxiety levels.

Congrats @AnxiousandExcited on your arrival!

barnyb · 08/03/2020 06:02

@fibeee normally me up at 2am but lucky me didn’t wake up until 5:30 today ! Hope you’ve managed to get back to sleep now xxxx

MockingJay27 · 08/03/2020 06:15

I don't think I get more than 2 hours sleep at a time. Hopefully when babies come we will be used to functioning on minimal sleep

barnyb · 08/03/2020 06:26

@MockingJay at least we will be up for a good reason when they are here. Right now it sucks eh ! Xx

Hananah · 08/03/2020 08:04

Things took a sudden turn and went into labour Friday night! Little boy born 6lb 6 at 5.50am Saturday after 9 hour labour at 38 weeks exactly! Very painful but so happy he is now here! Grin

Hope everyone is doing well, it’ll all be worth it in the end xx
