@barnyb good luck and keep us posted. I've got a sweep a week today glad it's not too painful x

barnyb · 05/03/2020 14:28

@Jesskir89 honestly wasn’t painful it was just uncomfortable and bit awkward. Just close your eyes and relax and it’s over in about 2 minutes. She told me to relax my jaw and my shoulders. I have another one booked in for Thursday next week if this doesn’t do the trick! Hopefully you don’t have to even go to the sweep :) Xx

MissPepper8 · 05/03/2020 15:24

@barnyb Sounds like you were lucky lol.. I got stretched to the limit and then the sweep 😱.. She really went digging haha.. You might have lost your plug already and not noticed? I noticed mine on Saturday eve and had pink bleeding but I only had pink bleeding after this sweep.

They suggested sex after the sweep but lord no.. I was so sore last night there's no way. I've got another tomorrow as I'd had it booked weeks ago.

Also I wasn't initially crampy but last night after going on my ball I felt more so and had some contractions, Fx for you :)

Jesskir89 · 05/03/2020 15:34

@barnyb I hope you don't go to next Thursday you'll be 10 days over! Have they mentioned inducing you?

maria94 · 05/03/2020 15:54

@barnyb glad your sweep went well!! Have you had any pains since??
Nothing yet here today, had painful contractions (almost had me in tears!) this morning every 10 mins which then fizzled out again. Fair to say I had a good old cry! Not enjoying this start/stop experience but never mind. Can't be much longer now! Another sweep booked for tomorrow morning so fingers crossed Xx

barnyb · 05/03/2020 16:02

@MissPepper8 oh bless you! My midwife did say that sometimes if the cervix is up high then it’s difficult to get in but I think luckily mine was already low and perhaps she didn’t have to get digging 🙈🙃
I possibly have lost a small amount of plug but I don’t really know what I’m looking for to be honest ! Deffo nothing pinky or red. oh my goodness yes I was told to have sex too but I literally couldn’t think of anything worse right now.
Also she did say nipple stimulation when I’m in the bath! That’s a funny thought but I think il give it a go! Also yes I’m going to jump on the ball later too! Hopefully I get to see what these contractions feel like too :)
Xxxx

barnyb · 05/03/2020 16:07

@maria94 oh no!! I really really thought that you would be up the hospital by now! Great you’ve got another one so soon :) that should surely do the trick ! especially after you’ve had strong contractions after the 1st one. I know lots of people don’t get much as after a sweep. Just a bit crampy and sore belly at the moment for me Xxx

MissPepper8 · 05/03/2020 16:57

@barnyb I was soft and front facing, she thinks I've been in pain more due to my scar tissue :(, but at least she had a good go lol. Fx sounds like you were really favourable for it, if not this one then deffo the next.

Um only thing I can say is its gross and looks like snot haha.. With pinky blood or darker blood. If its bright red ring labour ward though hun. You might of missed it I wouldn't of known x

jollybobs89 · 06/03/2020 07:21

@sadtoday21 wow! Congratulations that's fab news!!! Glad your little baba is here safe and sound ❤️

jollybobs89 · 06/03/2020 07:22

@barnyb I had two sweeps with my first and they never worked! I think eventually they will come when they want to regardless of what we do hahaha

Is anyone on their second child or is everybody on here having their first?

barnyb · 06/03/2020 07:38

@jollybobs89 yes totally agree with you there !! I think my baby is ever going to grace us she’s just too relaxed like her dad 😊🙃 yes this is my first xxxx

Hananah · 06/03/2020 07:56

Been following for a while but haven’t commented since the first March Babies chat!

Now at 37 + 6 and so fed up. Baby very wiggly and giving me lots of pains and strains but doesn’t want to appear just yet Hmm

@jollybobs89 This is my 2nd too! First labour happened very quickly and DS was back to back so likely to feel different this time apparently, not sure what to expect.

Congrats to all those with their little babies here!!!! So lovely Smile

maria94 · 06/03/2020 12:39

How's everyone doing?

I had my 2nd sweep this morning! 3cm dilated, cervix is 'paper thin' and everything is looking positive. Just got to hold on tight and wait for my body to do what it needs to!🤞🏼

Jesskir89 · 06/03/2020 15:38

@Hananah we've got the same due date and I'm sore and fed up! Lol @maria94 I hope something happens for you soon, you must feel like this is the longest labour ever.... Keeping everything crossed this weekend you'll meet your baby x

barnyb · 06/03/2020 16:49

@maria94 bloomin nothing! Oh my Lordy! This weekend hopefully :) husband is dying to have two weeks off work too lol bless him.
Sounds so very promising for you ! How about those contractions? Have they continued xxx

barnyb · 06/03/2020 16:50

Hey @Hannah! @Jesskir89 xxx

Jesskir89 · 06/03/2020 18:15

@barnyb you can't be much longer now have they got any plans to induce you if your next sweep doesn't work? X

MockingJay27 · 06/03/2020 18:31

@maria94 sounds like your very close !!

I'm 38+1 and already thinking I'll go over due. Baby girl just feels so high up still.

thankful16 · 06/03/2020 19:56

Hey everyone, I've been on the previous March threads but not posted on this one till now. Been reading though and keeping up to date with how everyone is getting on Smile

So I'm due this Sunday and up until now I haven't had even a hint of anything happening re baby making an appearance. However, last night for a while before bed I had a few moments of my stomach tightening with some slight pain accompanying it. Seemed to have disappeared by this morning but from about 3ish onwards today I've been having regular tightenings with pain. The pain is mostly at the bottom of my bump but sometimes it goes to my lower back too. For the last couple of hours I've been experiencing one of these at least once in every 10 minutes. I'm still not convinced it's any sort of contraction though? I'm going to phone the maternity assessment unit soon for some advice but just wondered if anyone could shed some light on what this is? Hope I'm not sounding too stupid lol.

barnyb · 06/03/2020 21:18

@thankful16 how are you doing now? I'm sorry even though I'm nearly 41 weeks I still haven't experienced a contraction yet so I really can't say what it is? Deffo call the unit they will know what's going on ! Sounds all promising though! :) xxx

@Jesskir89 no contractions but I have noticed a small bit of plug! Horahhh!!! Oh my goodness my pregnancy is the slowest lol. My body just does not know what to do ! 😂 lots of tightenings and baby movements which are causing lots of lightening down front and back but Iv had this for weeks now. I have another sweep booked Thursday and il be 41+3. Midwife said induction will be booked 40 weeks + 12 so that's actually next Saturday! So I'm guessing il be sent in next weekend ? I have no idea but bloomin better not get to that stage lol lol !!! xxxx

thankful16 · 06/03/2020 21:34

Thanks @barnyb. I called them and they said it sounds like the early stages of labour and they do sound like contractions but, just as I thought they'd say, it could go on for a while like this or they could just stop altogether or ramp up so I've just to keep an eye out for them getting more regular etc and for the moment I've just to rest, eat little and often, drinks lots of fluids and stuff so it's just a waiting game really but I'm glad at least something is happening even if it might stop altogether. Makes it feel a bit more real.
I'm booked in for a sweep next Thursday but hoping I won't make it till that lol!

thankful16 · 06/03/2020 21:37

Meant to say as well I'm still getting the tightenings / pains / contractions pretty regularly but it's like I'll get one every 9 minutes or so and then it might change to 12 minutes then back to 8. It's all over the place and happening regularly but just not regular enough to be contractions for me to go into labour. Will see how I get on tonight. I'm expecting this to go on for a few days so not going to get too excited about baby arriving soon - she'll be here soon enough Grin

Jesskir89 · 06/03/2020 21:38

@thankful16 welcome back! @barnyb hopefully you won't go that long, losing some plug sounds positive :)

barnyb · 06/03/2020 21:39

@thankful16 oh my goodness how exciting :) this could be the start of it all for you! I hope it is! yes hopefully you don’t have to go to the sweep next week. lol il be at my second sweep and everyone will have had their little baby by then! 😅😲🤣 keep us updated! Also thank you for sharing what their advice was. Good to know and be clued up xxx

maria94 · 06/03/2020 21:45

@thankful16 I've been having this for 4 days now! Contractions get to every 6/7 mins and then come to a stop😣 it's so draining! But it's slowly dilating your cervix so at least they are doing something lol. (Apparently it can mean you have a quick labour once it gets fully going, fingers crossed to that!) I hope yours doesn't go on as long as mine has!! X

@barnyb I've had painful contractions since 5pm, got to 6 mins apart so gave the hosp a ring and of course... they've fizzled out again! Give me strength!!!😂 they are SO painful now.. midwife suggested paracetamol and I just laughed. That doesn't even touch the surface lol! how are we this over due! I really thought we would have both popped by now!! Have you had any contractions yet? Xx
