@momytokondi Best advice is to ring where you are getting it, they'd probably have rules against it if you are too far along. I don't think it would be an issue though.

@atomcats I'm 37 weeks today, can't believe how fast its gone! My bump dropped yesterday, I can't bend anymore 😂. I found these last few weeks hard, feel like baby is going to fall out as there's pressure and heavyness down below. x

fibeee · 26/02/2020 12:01

I’m 37 weeks today. Baby hasn’t dropped yet and is still facing out. Trying to do a bit of walking and sitting on my ball or straddling a dining chair to persuade them to turn. If anyone else has any tips please let me know!

Still happy enough to be pregnant at this point. Though sleep is definitely not coming easy now 🥱

sadtoday21 · 26/02/2020 12:11

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow - anyone else? I'm not sure if my bump had dropped, is it really obvious when it does? Not feeling much except slightly more pressure down below when I'm out walking. I'm anxiously waiting for some kind of sign that labour will start soon, but nothing yet!

barnyb · 26/02/2020 12:26

@sadtoday21 hello lovely. I’m 39+2 and since 38 Iv been thinking any slight emotion/feeling is a sign and still nothing yet! it’s really frustrating but I guess baby is just going to come when they are ready! Iv noticed in the last week my belly is very heavy has been causing some more aches in lower back. Also at night the belly is very achy and noticeably heavy. xxx

momytokondi · 26/02/2020 13:08

@atomcats I'm 36+4 and still working though this Friday is my last 😊 I can't wait tbh I hoping baby doesn't come too early as I just want to be able to sleep and binge on Netflix series till DD gets home from school. I feel the tightness down below, squats are helping, given up swimming as too heavy and afraid of slipping and falling. Wearing trainers to work everyday and no ones bothered so 😊
I've packed everything except my own bag 😩 hopefully do that tonight.
I've never had a wax, I'm skeptic coz removing too much might cause infection and if baby comes early then I'm screwed for sure!
Good luck to you Wink

MissPepper8 · 26/02/2020 13:50

@sadtoday21 You can breath again when it does lol. Um hard to explain, you can notice an obvious change of shape of bump from under my ribs (husband noticed), so I was very high with this one and sitting down I could feel baby's bum hard under my ribs and now its like I have more room and I'm not squished by bum? Its almost like baby has changed position or sunk lower. Deffo more bladder pain, very stingy.

With first I didn't drop until I was 38/39 weeks, but it could happen any time now past 37 x

DaniX91 · 26/02/2020 14:56

Thankyou for all of the congratulations and well wishes! I really feel for u all having to wait around, I would been 38 weeks this Friday and now that she's here I honestly can't imagine being pregnant for potentially another 3 weeks!
We're still in hospital, I'll have been here 2 weeks tomorrow so I can't wait to get out!
Daisy has had jaundice so we're just waiting for more blood results to see if we can finally go home tonight!
Hopefully not long for u all to wait now x

AnxiousandExcited · 26/02/2020 15:46

38+5 today, had some more contractions but nothing serious because they stop when i sit down. Had some last week that were quite painful too but nothing doing. I'm all ready literally and dreading waiting till 42 weeks!

MockingJay27 · 26/02/2020 17:46

@momytokondi I am due march 19th and had a wax a few days ago no issues. I think 37 weeks is a good time I didn't want to leave it later x

MockingJay27 · 26/02/2020 17:47

@momytokondi just to add it wasn't my first wax I've continued my usual routine throughout pregnancy. You might be best to just have a tidy up, it can be more painful in pregnancy alley alone if it's your first x

momytokondi · 26/02/2020 18:22

@MockingJay27

Thankyou I'll go to my appointment tomorrow
I'll ask for a simple clean up Smile

barnyb · 26/02/2020 18:27

@Danix91
lol it's dreadful waiting around I can't tell you! But honestly you've been through a rough time so I guess it swings in round abouts eh!
Hope little daisy is ok and wishing you all the love xxxx

barnyb · 26/02/2020 18:28

@AnxiousandExcited
Lol week 38 was my hardest most frustrating week. Week 39 iv decided I'm just going to not be so impatient! Because what can we do?? Diddly squat!!! but please no to the 42 weeks! I think I will 1000000%% cry a lot! Xxx

sadtoday21 · 26/02/2020 18:35

@barnyb wow 39+2! Getting very real now! Good to know 38 is the most frustrating, that's what I feel too!! I've already told the consultant I refuse to go to 42 weeks, will ask for induction at 41 at the latest.

@MissPepper8 good to know, thanks! DH think it has dropped, but I think it's just wishful thinking. Will see the midwife on Tuesday, so I guess she can give more info on effacement/cervix/position, etc. I'm going to try for a sweep then, fingers crossed!

Double checked hospital bag today and will put finishing touches on nursery tomorrow. Is everyone washing baby clothes, etc.? I really really don't want to wash everything, just planning to bedding at this point. Wondering how necessary this is...

barnyb · 26/02/2020 19:05

@sadtoday21 can you do that?? Ask for an induction? I have a midwife appointment next Thursday which il be 40+3 I wonder if I could do this?? I’m worried she will be like pah! Pipe down love !! And il go home crying lol xx

MiniJMac · 26/02/2020 19:15

@sadtoday21 all my items bar two new ones were all stored in the loft and went through a house move so I've literally washed everything. I washed it all in fairy and all those new born smells came flooding back.

I'm 35+4, I have my 36 week apt on Friday. Am bricking no2 being breach still. Hubby thinks the shape of bump has changed but I'm not 100% convinced. 2 weeks on and still have this flipping cough 😴😪

maria94 · 26/02/2020 19:28

@barnyb I've asked my midwife for a sweep next Tuesday when I'll be 40+1 and then another next Friday if the first doesn't work! Always worth asking, all they can say is no! 😅 I mentioned getting induced if I go too overdue and she recommended trying to sweeps first Xx

maria94 · 26/02/2020 19:29

@sadtoday21 I washed all baby's bedding/blankets and her clothes that are in her hospital bag but left the rest. I can't imagine it'll do any harm by leaving them! She has way too many clothes for me to be washing every item!! 😂 X

barnyb · 26/02/2020 19:39

@maria94 I think my appointment next week is for a sweep but I’d like to get an induction booked in too just incase! Let’s hope we don’t have to wait until next week for the sweep! Let’s hope they come tonight :) :) haha

barnyb · 26/02/2020 19:41

Ps iv only washed all vests, muslins, and bedding! And a couple baby grows! But that took me ages because I didn’t want to tumble dry it so I didn’t do anymore ! My mum said she never washed anything when she had her children so I think it’s a little OTT these days ! X

MissPepper8 · 26/02/2020 20:14

@sadtoday21 Ah you might of hun x I was very high with this baby, right under my ribs, not like first. Fxing for your sweep, hope it starts things x

I washed everything new, need to do DS baby stuff as spares. Except blankets (unless they were DS blankets and spare sheets) which are on my list.

I think I'm hesitant as I stuck them all on the airer cause I think they smell better, but it's a huge pain to do lol.

MockingJay27 · 26/02/2020 21:36

Is anyone worried at all about the spread of corona virus at the time we will be in hospital giving birth. I'm trying not to worry about it but it's hard to escape hearing it all over the news and social media

Jesskir89 · 26/02/2020 21:44

@momytokondi I had a wax the other week and it was murder. I was gonna have another before due date but not a chance. We've got the same due date I think, 21st? I finish Friday and can't wait I'm in agony so much pressure down below :(

fibeee · 27/02/2020 09:21

@MockingJay27 yes I’m a little worried about the potential disruption. I just feel like it’s a matter of time (probably a couple of weeks) before it hits NI where I am based. Raging hormones are not helping me stay rational!

The hospitals are under so much pressure as it is I just don’t know how the maternity units will cope with this virus if there are more staff shortages and the Spring baby boom.

Then there’s the elderly and chronically ill family members that I’m terrified will get the virus. So yes I can relate to how you’re feeling!

AnxiousandExcited · 27/02/2020 16:10

Made a mistake yesterday - thought I was 38+5, but was only 38 +3. Today I'm 38+4. So confused sometimes.
Anyway, still nothing happening here. My doula is away Monday Tuesday so hoping not to give birth then... My husband really doesn't want me to have the baby on a Friday - the longer we wait the more we think about it! Not that we have any say in when the baby comes.
