It's all coming around so quickly now for us all.
I've caught my sons horrid chesty cough so havent had much sleep at all for about 1 week, feel like I've pulled a muscle low down in my bump from coughing so hard 😭 Had to take paracetamol last night which I felt terribly guilty for but my 4yo son had me up 4 times last night and my husbands away on a stag do so I'm feeling it this morning 😴
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

DaniX91 · 21/02/2020 09:07

Thankyou @Jesskir89 @barnyb I'm soooo nervous!! Apparently yesterday's bloods have deteriorated so they're coming to do more and to get a canula in. The midwife has said the first pessary will probably be put in this morning. I've woken up with a cold, how typical!x

barnyb · 21/02/2020 09:11

@DaniX91 oh my goodness I’m not surprised your nervous! But you’ll be great! I’m so envious of you today! Good luck! Thinking of you x

Greenview8 · 21/02/2020 10:25

@DaniX91 good luck for today hope all goes well

Jesskir89 · 21/02/2020 15:52

@daniX91 how you getting on? I'm just back from acupuncture and my 36 week midwife app. They've done some pressure points to try and bring on my labour naturally x

Jesskir89 · 21/02/2020 16:13

@maria94 the girl I mentioned had baby at 8lb something... So in 4 weeks hadn't grown according to her 38 week growth scan or the scan was way out x

maria94 · 21/02/2020 17:26

@Jesskir89 that's reassuring thank you! My midwife also said to try and ignore the growth scan, she thinks baby will be a nice healthy size, not too big so I'm feeling much better! X

Jesskir89 · 21/02/2020 21:56

@maria94 no problem glad you're more at ease x

jollybobs89 · 22/02/2020 12:17

Eeeek @DaniX91 good luck!! I wish I was getting induced hahaha

35 + 3 today and I'm so hormonal!!! Like could just cry over nothing is everyone else feeling like this or just me Sad

MockingJay27 · 22/02/2020 18:26

I had 36 week scan on Thursday. Baby is headdown but not yet engaged. Estimated to already be 6.5 pounds. I've bought myself a birthing ball to start using when I finish work on Tuesday. Apparently can below with engagement

Jesskir89 · 22/02/2020 21:22

@mockingjay27 what centile are you in? I've got mine Thursday ill be 36 plus 5. I'm going to order a birthing ball tomorrow, any recommendations?

AnxiousandExcited · 22/02/2020 21:46

Wonder if @DaniX91 has had her baby yet? Unlikely that it's priority to tell Mumsnet...
I'm now 38 weeks. Nothing happening - my others were 40 weeks so I'm trying not to think about it for a bit longer but it's so hard! As @barnyb said, sitting here watching the baby stuff... I hate being ready early, it makes me so impatient! But I've been so organised this time round.

AnxiousandExcited · 22/02/2020 21:49

That sounded bad - meant that i've been organised so now I have to sit here watching it, as opposed to last times when I barely had a bag packed and was living in my in-laws attic.

Jesskir89 · 22/02/2020 21:52

@anxiousandexcited at least you're prepared and ready for your baby which will be here before you know it :) I can't wait for @daniX91 update :)

AnxiousandExcited · 22/02/2020 21:58

@jesskir89 thanks! my anxiety is acting up and I feel like everything I'm doing is wrong. TRying not too think too much...

barnyb · 22/02/2020 22:28

@AnxiousandExcited I hear ya honey!!! I’m still here... waiting..... bouncing.... eating... watching Netflix.... 😩😩😩 come on already haha! 38+5 today xxx

Jesskir89 · 22/02/2020 22:36

@anxiousandexcited @barnyb have you tried some clary sage in your bath? I put a few drops in mine tonight it's meant to help soften your cervix. I'm only 36 weeks but my midwife recommended it well she actually gave it me lol. I was also told by the midwife who did my acupuncture that pregnant midwives swear by putting evening primrose capsules inside them... Pierce 2 and place them in the Grove a couple of inches inside. I personally don't feel comfortable doing that but she swore by it x

atomcats · 22/02/2020 23:07

@jesskir89 I got my ball from amazon. The main thing to check is that you get the right size one for your height. I’m relatively tall so had to get a larger one!

“Your height will give a guide to the size of ball that will be right for you. Ideally, your knees should be about 10cm (4in) lower than your hips when you sit on it. As a general rule:

If you're up to 1.73m (5ft 8in) in height, it's best to get a 65cm ball.
If you're taller than 1.73m (5ft 8in) then it's best to get a 75cm ball.”

barnyb · 22/02/2020 23:10

@Jesskir89 ah very interesting!! Iv never heard of this clary sage! I’m going to look into this! and I did ask my midwife about the evening primrose because I saw it on a vlog but she said she didn’t know about it and I shouldn’t do it incase it’s not ok. So I didn’t. But iv been drinking 3 cups of raspberry leaf tea for a few weeks now which she said helps soften cervix and can (supposed to) speed up labour 🙏🏻💫🌟🤷🏻‍♀️
I was thinking about acupuncture too ! Iv never had it before but I’m going to look into it next week if I’m still here bouncing on my ball xxxx

Jesskir89 · 22/02/2020 23:18

@atomcats I wish I'd have waited for your post but stupidly went on amazon prime and ordered one that I now know is too big.... Typical impatient me. @barnyb defo try the clary sage I've heard there's a bath bomb at lush containing it called sex bomb and a few pregnant women I know have sworn by this too x

atomcats · 23/02/2020 08:09

@Jesskir89 I think too big is fine (as long as you can safely sit on it!!), too small would be an issue as tour hops would be too low. I imagine it might be as simple as just pumping it up less, but might be worth googling to check!

Jesskir89 · 23/02/2020 08:50

@atomcats thank you :)

barnyb · 23/02/2020 09:55

@Jesskir89 I think your legs need to be at a 90 degree angle when you sit on. And then your good to go xx

barnyb · 23/02/2020 09:58

Also guys this is the YouTube vid I use to do my ball exercises. Really informative lady and I pop it on my telly and away I go !

sadtoday21 · 23/02/2020 10:42

@Jesskir89 thanks for the bath bomb tip! I'm going to get some :).

I'm nearing 38 weeks and also looking for natural tips to start labour. My midwife recommended hand expressing coloustrum and sex as the two main things that actually work. Not sure I'm really up for the latter, but may try to give it a go!

If I don't have a ball, are there any other exercises that work?
