@fibeee sorry your chest must have been sore! X

maria94 · 18/02/2020 19:16

I had a growth scan today due to reduced movements.. everything looked fine thank goodness but they have estimated her weight at 8.8 pounds! I could potentially still have another 4 weeks left if I go 2 weeks overdue... I'm worried she's going to be absolutely huge! Would they considering inducing me if that happened? I'm scared I'm not going to be able to get her out!! 😅

Jesskir89 · 18/02/2020 22:26

@maria94 growth scans can be out by 1.5lb either way. Have they discussed giving you another closer to 40 weeks? Glad everything's OK x

maria94 · 19/02/2020 09:48

@Jesskir89 no they haven't offered any more unless I have another episode of reduced movements which I'm hoping I don't! Going to speak to my midwife about it and just hope that the growth scan is inaccurate. The thought of pushing out a huge baby scares me!!! X

AnxiousandExcited · 19/02/2020 11:58

@maria94 they often get the weight very wrong, don't worry too much about it. My growth scan yesterday was fine too, baby head down all curled up ready to go!
I can feel it's getting closer, today when out shopping I had 4 decent contractions but as soon as I sat down they stopped, so I don't think I'm going into labor quite yet. It is getting exciting though!

Jesskir89 · 19/02/2020 17:10

@maria94 a girl I know what told at 38 weeks her baby was over 8lb. She being induced today at almost 42 weeks so I'll let you know what her baby weighs. My boys head engaged today and my god I felt it I feel so heavy down there has anyone else had this x

maria94 · 19/02/2020 17:19

@AnxiousandExcited doesn't sound like it'll be long for you then. Exciting!

@Jesskir89 ah thank you. That'll be interesting to know! Yes I know the feeling.. feels like there is a heavy bowling ball resting on everything down there! X

Jesskir89 · 19/02/2020 17:42

@maria94 yes! I feel like I'm sat on him but when he turned today I went really funny x

Greenview8 · 19/02/2020 17:49

Is anyone feeling sick? I am in week 34 but today it felt like I was back in week 4!

fibeee · 19/02/2020 18:17

@greenview8 I’ve started to feel a bit sick just after I eat (I assumed because of my squashed stomach) but a girl in my antenatal class told me this week she’s been feeling constant nausea for the last 2 weeks.

Greenview8 · 20/02/2020 09:41

@fibeee I think you are probably right about feeling sick because there isn’t much room. The baby has also moved from being in breach for weeks to head down so I imagine that other bits are being squeezed that haven’t been before!

MissPepper8 · 20/02/2020 17:26

It's good to read the weight/scan comments, basically they've est baby at 5lb and think they've grown half a pound in 3 weeks.

I feel heavy down below, think their head keeps popping in and out my pelvis. I read 2nd births babies head can even engage at last minute, feels like he/she is gonna fall out now 😂

I'm anemic, but I can't work out what I've done wrong. Don't start me on iron tabs.. Last two days I've had stomach cramps so bad I can't take them anymore.

Jesskir89 · 20/02/2020 18:29

@misspepper8 it's a weird feeling isn't it. @daniX91 how you getting on? Are you feeling OK about tomorrow? @dinosauraddict @keybpard91 how are you both doing not heard for a while x

atomcats · 20/02/2020 19:09

@MissPepper8 sorry to hear you are suffering with the tablets. I had low ferritin levels, but my iron was ok so I was advised to take liquid iron (I’m having two sachets a day of spatone, plus the iron from pregnacare) as that’s easier to absorb, and I’ve not had any nasty side effects. However I’m also acutely aware that it’s also in much lower quantities than if you have the tablets so it might not be much use to you.

barnyb · 20/02/2020 20:24

@maria94 hello lovely ! Iv got to have another growth scan next week because had midwife today and she said baby bump still bit small. So had growth scan last week at 37 weeks and they said she’s 6lb. So once Iv had this other scan be interesting what the change is in estimate! Then we will know if they are all telling us porkies 😂 still no baby. Come on girllllls!!! I’m dying for this baby to come out now xxxx

maria94 · 20/02/2020 20:40

@barnyb hope it all goes well, let's us know! Gosh my baby was weighing 6.6lb at 34 weeks 😳 I honestly think she's going to be huge! Really hoping my midwife will suggest getting her out early, I'm getting very anxious about the whole birth purely because of her size. I was excited before but now I'm just worried. Are you getting as fed up as me of waiting now? I'm so impatient.. every day is such a drag!!! I've been going for long walks, bouncing on my ball etc but absolutely nothing yet. Xx

barnyb · 20/02/2020 21:05

Oh bless you I probably would be feeling the exact same about size. But seriously that baby is going to be so small when she’s in your arms ! your body will be able to do this just trust in your body! That’s basically what I’m telling myself!
I’m so fed up! I was in tears today when I got home form midwife because I just wanted it to be all over ! I was very down in the dumps for sure! also this weather is so shite down south and I’m stuck indoors on my ball on my own! Looking at the baby stuff just waiting.... this is definitely the tough part mentally ! xxx

DaniX91 · 20/02/2020 21:52

@Jesskir89 not guna lie, I'm absolutely shit scared! Just been reading the induction of labour file and I feel like it's going to be a very long process!
I suppose if it wasn't for the pre eclampsia then I could have gone to 41 weeks and had to be induced then she'd be a lot bigger than she is now! So suppose it's good in a way. Been told I'll have to stay in for atleast 3 days after she's born which is shit but atleast I'll know we're both being looked after x

maria94 · 20/02/2020 22:05

@barnyb positive thoughts! I know it'll all be ok in the end, I think it's a bit of reality sinking in as it's so close to happening now. Oh I know exactly how you are feeling. I am home alone all day too and it really is boring and lonely! We're on the home stretch now, we can do it!! Our baby's will be here so soon 🥰 Xx

momytokondi · 20/02/2020 22:11

Anyone finding the Groin area stiff and painful? Is it coz I am still working and sit allt at my desk ?

fibeee · 20/02/2020 22:27

@momytokondi yes very stiff and sore around there when I walk as well as inner thighs and hips. Also sore when turning in bed at night.

Don’t really have any suggestions to offer as I’m still in pain myself. I do have a desk job as well though I’m on mat leave now. I’m just trying to keep active and sit on my yoga ball for awhile each day instead of the sofa.

Jesskir89 · 20/02/2020 22:33

@daniX91 I hope you have a smooth induction please keep us posted. Just think in the next couple of days you'll have your baby in your arms. Good luck ill be thinking of you xx

momytokondi · 20/02/2020 22:36

@fibeee
Thankyou
I've still got a week of work! I'm 35 weeks. I don't remember this feeling with my dd but probably is the job. All the best to you 😃

barnyb · 20/02/2020 22:36

@DaniX91 good luck tomorrow xx

MissPepper8 · 20/02/2020 22:55

@Jesskir89 I feel like I need belly support lol, definitely on my bladder too.

@atomcats Noo that's very helpful, it's the tablet form 200mg twice a day. I can't take nsaids due to irratation, assume they've done the same (stomach spasms and cramps). I'll ask about the liquid one :).
