@DaniX91 good luck I hope that everything is ok keeping fingers crossed x

DaniX91 · 13/02/2020 16:00

Thankyou all for the well wishes! I've been moved onto the antenatal ward, put on medication for my blood pressure and told that I won't be allowed to go past 37 weeks. So baby will be here next weekend 😳 chances are I'm goin to be stayin here until she arrives. I had the growth scan and everything is fine atm, blood flow in the cord, placenta and fluid all fine and baby is estimated at 6lbs 10!! The sonographer said "ooh that's a big one for someone your size!" Great ha x

fibeee · 13/02/2020 16:28

@DaniX91 pleased to hear that baby is thriving. Sucks that you're going to be in hospital for a week but at least this has been caught and they'll be keeping a close eye on you.

Do you mind me asking were you diagnosed with PE? As someone who is being closely monitored for it (and your symptoms are the kind of thing I'm being tested for weekly) it is a relief to hear that medical staff jumped on it so quickly.

Best of luck to you over the next week :)

Hey everyone
I’m 34 weeks 3 days. Due March 23 but I doubt I’ll make it that far. This is baby #5 for me. So far it’s been the worst pregnancy ever. Midwife keeps telling me baby is measuring small but I got sent to a specialist and baby’s weight was right where it needed to be. I think their ultrasound tech isn’t making correct measurements. She tells me everything looks good yet my placenta was low lying for 5 months. If everything was good why is midwife telling me otherwise? This is the 3rd place I’ve transferred to do prenatal care. I thought midwives were supposed to be better but they are not! They’re worse. They only measured my bump once. I’ve been taking nst since 28 weeks. I have spd failed glucose test and might have preeclampsia and they don’t seem worried at all. Baby has dropped and I’ve been having ongoing contractions. I’m in severe pain and can hardly walk. Making it hard to care for my 2 yr old. They won’t induce me even though I keep telling them something doesn’t feel right. Now they’re supposedly running all these tests on me. It’s making me so stressed and depressed. Idk what to do anymore. I feel like I’m in the beginning stages of labor everyday but I’m not dilating and she said cervix is still firm but when she checked me it didn’t feel right. Almost like she didn’t do it right.

Jesskir89 · 13/02/2020 19:35

@daniX91 glad you're OK and we will keep you company til next week. My scan went well baby measuring 55th centile now so down from 80th and about 5lb 9oz. They're scanning me again in 2 weeks to decide when to induce me. @mpuckett33 welcome and sorry to hear you're having a tough time. Can you ask for another opinion?

MockingJay27 · 13/02/2020 20:34

@DaniX91 that's a great weight for 36 weeks especially if your little one is coming soon.
Sucks staying in hospital, but in a weeks time when your holding your baby you won't care one bit. It'll all be worth it x

DaniX91 · 13/02/2020 21:14

Thanks again for everyone's concern ❤️ I'll definitely be needing u all to keep me company, night one and I've already had an emotional breakdown cos I just want to be home!
Yea I've been told it's severe pre eclampsia so baby will definitely be here no later than 37 weeks, I'll be constantly monitored and if anything gets worse she'll be brought before that.
I can't believe the weight of her! @Jesskir89 she has measured 80th percentile from this scan today. Atleast this means she isn't guna have time to get absolutely massive ha x

sadtoday21 · 14/02/2020 08:37

@DaniX91 did you have any signs of the severe pre-e? Hoping you are coping well at hospital and able to deliver soon! X

AnxiousandExcited · 14/02/2020 10:10

36+5 today and been getting horrid stomach/bump pains. Not contractions (this is my third so I know what they usually feel like) and baby moving fine, I have lots of gas so maybe that's it. Thing is that the pain is mainly at the bottom of my bump, currently the most stretched bit so could also be that. I have terrible nausea also...
Feeling really anxious about gving birth and looking after a newborn - I know it'll be okay in real time but my anxiety is really high. I'm starting setraline straight after the birth for the anxiety, but really don't want to take it yet.
Anyone else with a really painful bump? The pain comes and goes but mainly when I change position, it is so painful, then settles until I move again. Also it hurts to touch?
Could this be preparing for labor or is it just the last legs of pregnancy?

DaniX91 · 14/02/2020 10:49

@sadtoday21 just my swollen feet/ankles, I did have a few headaches but I'm prone to them so didn't realise think anything of it.
I'm soooo tired! No chance of gettin much sleep in here, too much noise and things going on.
Baby is apparently breech now so they're guna start me on steroid injections in preparing for a caesarean x

DaniX91 · 14/02/2020 10:50

Preparation

maria94 · 14/02/2020 12:19

@AnxiousandExcited I'm about a week ahead of you and have been experiencing the same thing. Sharp pains across the bottom of my bump and really intense period like cramps.. so far it's not turned into anything. But this is my first so it's all new to me and not sure what to expect! How did labour start for your previous pregnancy's? Hope your anxiety calms down, that can't be nice. X

Jesskir89 · 14/02/2020 12:32

@daniX91 hope you're OK. Have they said when they will give you a section yet? X

AnxiousandExcited · 14/02/2020 13:11

@maria94 Don't remember really what the days before labor felt like but once my actual labor began the contractions were quite unmistakable - everything went hard and painful, then eased off, etc. And also my mucus plug went, which hasn't happened now.
But I'm definitely feeling very strange and it's hard to define what's bothering me - only that this feels like baby is coming. Question is if I'll feel like this for a week or two and then go into labor? How long have you been feeling like this?

maria94 · 14/02/2020 13:27

@AnxiousandExcited I've been slowly loosing my mucus plug for a few weeks now, gradually getting more and more but hasn't led to anything so far so I've just been ignoring it. The cramps and pains have only been bad the last couple of days but still no sign of labour ugh! It's so hard as I have no idea what a contraction feels like so I'm constantly thinking is this it?!

MissPepper8 · 14/02/2020 16:13

@maria94 Oh you're still losing? Means things are opening up slowly doesn't it? You could be soon, fingers crossed for you.

Im 35 and 2, I didn't have pains with ds per say. I've had cramps and tightening feelings in my front and back this time (not like the braxtons I've had as braxtons are grouped tightenings), combined with like a period pain? but stingy and different and then it's stopped completely. Maybe it's body gearing up and practising for Labour?

MissPepper8 · 14/02/2020 16:17

I had my bloods done today as I mentioned my bps been dropping and making me dizzy and my iron count came back low.

Anyone else on tablets, tried just eating iron rich food instead? I can't deal with being constipated too lol.. So many bodily things going on, I don't need constipation 😂

maria94 · 14/02/2020 16:30

@MissPepper8 Yeah I mentioned it to my midwife and she said it just means my body is getting ready but doesn't mean labour is around the corner, I could still go over due! Not what I wanted to hear haha

MissPepper8 · 14/02/2020 18:33

@maria94 Oh noo, I didn't know that, I thought it was things might get going if you kept losing it? My sister lost hers and then day or so later went into labour but she was 40/plus weeks.

That's frustrating :(, well maybe if you had a sweep it might help things go a bit quicker x

fibeee · 14/02/2020 18:50

How is everyone feeling energy-wise right now? I‘ve been hit by a crazy wave of tiredness today. I feel so weak that I could just happily gone to bed this afternoon and not moved till tomorrow. I wonder if it’s nights of terrible sleep catching up with me. I’ve just stopped work today as well. Iron levels have been consistently fine so far so I don’t think it’s that.

MiniJMac · 14/02/2020 20:13

@AnxiousandExcited sounds like your body is just gearing up ready for the big event.

@DaniX91 sorry to hear what's happened, but you're in the right place. You must be super bored being in hospital?

I had my 34 week check up today. Midwife "thinks" head was down as she felt a cricket ball like the head down low, then did babies heart and couldn't be sure but put Ceph on the notes. Praying that it is head down as I'm so worried it will be breach like before with my 1st when I had a successful ECV at 40+3.... Really want to avoid that again 😬

maria94 · 14/02/2020 20:54

@MissPepper8 I think it depends what it looks like. I described it to my midwife and she said there's a difference between your mucus plug and your 'bloody show'. Mine just looks like snot, quite yellowish and she said that's totally normal and I could continue to loose it for a while still! When it becomes bloody/brown, then labour isn't far away 😬

MissPepper8 · 15/02/2020 12:24

@maria94 Ooh ok that's interesting to know there's a difference. I didn't get anything like that with DS, my hind waters just went.

@MiniJMac I feel you, im nervous about this, my midwife couldn't tell as baby was in some weird position. I got home though and im sure i could feel a hard head like lump in my pelvis. I think head keeps going in and out my pelvis as I'm getting cystitis like bladder pains too.

Greenview8 · 15/02/2020 19:44

@fibeee I hope you are feeling more energetic today? I am getting more tired in the evenings in pjs today before 3yr old DD which is a new record!! But bump seems to wake up in the evenings and wriggle I hope it’s not sign of things to come!!

barnyb · 15/02/2020 20:33
