Congratulations @NailQueen9!!! Xxxxx

MissPepper8 · 11/02/2020 14:46

@atomcats Yeah like you say I think people would comment if you had a bigger bump too (with my sister she carried her little girl bigger, she got upset about the big baby comments). I wouldn't say anything to someone I didn't know. Like I had blood done yesterday and when they saw my form (for pregnancy) the woman asked weeks ect and then told all the other woman there who came around and commented on my shape lol. I just felt so uncomfortable. You're not alone lol x

maria94 · 11/02/2020 15:19

@barnyb I think I'll give some of them a go then if it won't do any harm. I've just been bouncing on my ball.. thought my waters had started to go but I think it was just wee! How lovely!!! 😅 time is seriously dragging now! Xx

barnyb · 11/02/2020 15:43

@maria94 haha my bladder is really weak now so I’m noticing a few little accidents! I just had a growth scan and checking placenta again and all is good and she said baby has fuzz on head! 🙃 also she’s about 6lb which is smaller then I thought she would be at 37 but no concerns! I just really want to have her today ! Haha

barnyb · 11/02/2020 15:45

@Jesskir89 aw thank you! Yes can’t believe it’s all happening now and we are all in 30+ weeks! Eeeek!!! And you’ll be leaving work soon too! :) hurry up little babies!!!!

singme · 11/02/2020 18:08

Oh yeah the “your bump is so neat”’comments!! I think it is meant as a compliment but I’m just Confused that I’m too small!

maria94 · 11/02/2020 18:54

@barnyb glad everything went ok with the growth scan. I had one a few weeks ago and she was measuring 6lbs then so goodness knows what she weighs now.. although I have heard the weight measurements from growth scans are know to be quite inaccurate!

Greenview8 · 12/02/2020 08:25

@Jesskir89
Thanks for the reminder about packing a hospital bag that’s a really great list I’ll do it this week. I am having an ELCS somehow in my head I was just going to pack the night before! Whoops

sadtoday21 · 12/02/2020 12:00

@Jesskir89 can I ask you about the group b strep test? I'm worried that I haven't had one yet (36 weeks) and I know the NHS doesn't typically do it, but after reading a lot on it I don't see why not and I'm anxious to get tested.

DaniX91 · 12/02/2020 12:16

@Jesskir89 @sadtoday21 I'm feeling exactly the same. There's a post on here about it and it's got me petrified. I was looking online and you can buy the tests for £35 x

Jesskir89 · 12/02/2020 12:33

@greenview8 no problem I'm also going to get a first formula pack too incase I can't breastfeed. @sadtoday21 and @daniX91 I had a test due to a bleed at 22 weeks I would highly recommend you get one and think it's discussing the NHS don't routinely test got it xx

sadtoday21 · 12/02/2020 13:01

Thanks @Jesskir89 I'm just afraid the NHS will refuse to test me. How did they do the test? I guess there are a few kinds.

@DaniX91 I'm a little worried I won't do the swabs correctly for the online test...not very good at getting all up in there and its both rectum and vaginal swabs. What are you going to do? I really wish I could just pay the midwife the 35 pounds to do it for me.

DaniX91 · 12/02/2020 17:30

@Jesskir89 it really is disgusting when u read about what can happen!x
@sadtoday21 yea I know what u mean, I would happily pay the midwife!
I'm at the midwife in the morning so I'll speak to her about it. If she refuses (which I think she will) then I'll get one from the internet and hope I do it properly x

Jesskir89 · 12/02/2020 18:41

@sadtoday21 @daniX91 I didn't do a rectal swab. Why don't yous try telling a little white lie that you've had unusual discharge and have read it could be group b strep..... See if they offer you one? It's scary business. Hopefully you're both fine but I'd never even heard of it until the midwife rang me to say I had it now I have an alert on my notes. Scary what that woman posted... X

sadtoday21 · 12/02/2020 18:48

@Jesskir89 thanks for that tip, I might do that. The midwives never take me seriously because I have terrible anxiety due to previous losses. But I really think this is a simple test that should be done!

Like you @daniX91 I have a midwife appointment first thing in the morning so will ask about it then. How many weeks are you now? I'll be exactly 36 tomorrow, so would need to do the test soon I think. Soon as in asap.

DaniX91 · 12/02/2020 20:00

Yea we could do that @Jesskir89 I just feel like my midwife isn't arsed! I was telling her about my back/leg pain from my 16week appointment and was constantly told "it's just part and parcel of pregnancy!" Ended up at the physio 2 weeks ago and it's PGP which can apparently be treat better the sooner it's diagnosed. So frustrating!
@sadtoday21 aw I'm really sorry to hear that, that should make the midwives more sensitive if anything! I'll be 36 weeks on Friday, you're due the day before me x

Jesskir89 · 12/02/2020 21:19

Worth a try ladies and @sadtoday21 that's shocking.... My hospital gave me reassurance scans due to my prior loss. I've got my next growth scan tomorrow I'm sure they're gonna tell me he's off the chart and 14lb lol

DaniX91 · 13/02/2020 11:42

So I went for my 36 week midwife appointment this morning and got sent straight to PAU! I've got protein in my urine and my blood pressure is high, also need a growth scan cos my bump is measuring the same as it was 2 weeks ago. They've basically told me I'm going to be admitted and they've even mentioned putting a canula in and starting me off. I'm so scared!

fibeee · 13/02/2020 12:09

@DaniX91 hugs. Poor you I'm sure that was such a shock for you. Had you been feeling any symptoms at all?

Best of luck today. At least they were on the ball and are doing everything they can to keep you and baby safe.

sadtoday21 · 13/02/2020 12:38

@DaniX91 sorry to hear that, but good that you are being closely monitored now and hopefully baby will be here soon! Crazy to think about since you were due one day after me. Best of luck and let us know how you get on! Xxx

I had my 36 week midwife appointment and scan today too. Baby dropped even lower on growth chart to 25% now, estimated weight 5 lbs 9 ounces. I’m a bit worried he’s small, but the midwives didn’t seem concerned. Any thoughts?

atomcats · 13/02/2020 12:44

@DaniX91 oh wow! You are in the right place to be properly looked after. Is anyone with you?

@sadtoday21 I have wondered where the cut off is for them to react, and from what I’ve seen on other threads it only seems to be if they drop off entirely. It might be worth speaking to the midwife and asking the perhaps strange question of why they aren’t concerned. That might help to clarify things...maybe!

@Jesskir89 hope the scan goes well today

sadtoday21 · 13/02/2020 13:24

@atomcats yes, of course I did ask why a few times but I couldn’t get much of an answer...just that some babies are small and some are large. They said they would only monitor if it was below 10% and otherwise would just rely on fundal measurements.

atomcats · 13/02/2020 14:01

@sadtoday21 sorry, I didn’t mean to state the obvious. Interesting that it’s the 10% margin that they use. From looking at other threads I was wondering if it was only if they were off the charts, but even then it seems varied as to whether there’s anything done about it! Another thing for us all to worry about... at my scan on Monday head and abdomen measurements were 80+ but again just told that it all seems fine!

MockingJay27 · 13/02/2020 14:24

@DaniX91 I hope your doing ok, baby will be fine I'm sure, try not to worry. Your in the best place and it sounds like your being closely monitored. Please keep us updated

Jesskir89 · 13/02/2020 15:13

@atomcats thank you. @daniX91 hope you and baby are OK keep us posted xx
