@fibeee Yeah Im really into that side of birthing, I coped really well with doing it on my own with DS, I was induced on the drip and managed 9 hours without epidural, just breathing. Wasn't fussed on gas and air either.

@sadtoday21 My sister and mum are arranging a small thing for me, it's just my nanas and close friends going for afternoon tea. I'm not fussed but as my other sister is pregnant they didn't want to leave me out and I didn't do anything for my first baby.

I suggested originally me, mum and sisters just went for a pamper day (nails and massage), you could do something simular? x

NailQueen9 · 04/02/2020 11:55

So yesterday was eventful. Baby boy born 6 weeks early! He's in neonatal ward at the moment... but nothing critical atm!

DaniX91 · 04/02/2020 12:33

@NailQueen9 Oh my God, congratulations! How are u both doing? What happened?x

MissPepper8 · 04/02/2020 12:41

@NailQueen9 Oh my god! Hope you're doing ok lovely, aswell as baby. Bit of a shock for you all! What happened? xx

fibeee · 04/02/2020 12:46

@NailQueen9 congratulations! What a surprise for you! Hope you are both ok.

NailQueen9 · 04/02/2020 13:01

@MissPepper8 @danix91 @fibeee thank you all. My waters started leaking on Saturday and I started with contractions late Sunday night! I'm still a bit surprised myself!

DaniX91 · 04/02/2020 13:04

@NailQueen9 bless u, how are u feeling after the birth? Apart from obviously shocked! What weight is your little boy?x

MissPepper8 · 04/02/2020 13:13

@NailQueen9 Wow that is crazy, congrats to you all and I'm glad he is ok, he obviously wanted to meet his mummy :). Look after yourself xx we worry about baby but make time for you xx

atomcats · 04/02/2020 13:35

@NailQueen9 oh wow, congratulations! Hope everyone is as well as they can be given the early arrival!!

whiskersonkittenss · 04/02/2020 14:59

Omg what a shock that must have been. I hope you're doing okay and baby of course. Xx

sadtoday21 · 04/02/2020 15:00

Congrats @NailQueen9!!! How many weeks were you? How much does baby weigh? I'm shocked that there are already births on this thread!

cucumbercookie · 04/02/2020 15:06

Very late to the party but have been following the thread for months. I'm 32 weeks today with second baby and due 31st March. It's starting to feel so real now that I can say 'next month' when asked when I'm due!

maria94 · 04/02/2020 17:26

Congratulations @NailQueen9. Hope you and baby are doing well! X

I'm in need of some advice... for the last week or so I have been getting 'snot' like discharge after going to the toilet. It's only been little bits at a time but I can't work out if I'm slowly loosing my mucus plug or it's just normal discharge. If it is my mucus plug, do I need to ring someone or just leave it and see if anything else progresses? Anyone else had this?

fibeee · 04/02/2020 18:11

@maria94 I experienced something quite similar at the end of the first trimester (greenish snot-like discharge - but only once). I rang the midwife at the emergency unit and she was happy enough once I told her there was no blood, pain, waters etc. I had to go and get swabs done at my GP to rule out infection, STI etc.

I would advise you to ring the midwife just to get advice and put your mind at rest if nothing else. Plus if it is an infection like BV it would be better to get it sorted sooner rather than later.

maria94 · 04/02/2020 18:52

@fibeee hopefully it's just normal discharge then by the sounds of it! I might ring just to be sure. Thank you x

singme · 04/02/2020 21:10

Congratulations @NailQueen9!!

@maria94 Now you mention it I have noticed similar thicker discharge but has been so gradual haven’t really thought much about it. Might be worth asking midwife or getting swabs though especially if any smell, pain or itch though.

Jesskir89 · 04/02/2020 21:34

@NailQueen9 wow! Congratulations hope you're all doing well. @greenview8 the tag as promised. @maria94 I would check with your midwife hun x

MissPepper8 · 04/02/2020 21:41

@maria94 Oh have you googled muscus plug, To see if it compares? (I know that sounds grim, but I've never seen one so wouldn't know). I'd deffo tell your midwife, if it goes before 37 weeks it's the risk of infection but it can regenerate too.

I think I read too much pregnancy books lol..

Greenview8 · 04/02/2020 21:48

Thanks for the tag
Congratulations @NailQueen9 I hope that you and baby are all ok

NailQueen9 · 05/02/2020 06:11

Sorry for the delay. It was week 33 for me!!! I'm so glad I had my bags ready. Would suggest lip balm and a lot to drink in your bags! Also flannel for cold press! It gets so crazy hot! I've tried a couple of maternity pads the best ones are lilets maternity with wings!

Baby is 4lb 12! He's in special care but doing ok. Hopefully he won't be there long. He's needed no oxygen just a feeding tube! I asked to be discharged as I wasn't sleeping well in hospital and baby wasn't with me anyway.

maria94 · 05/02/2020 09:11

@MissPepper8 I have and it does look pretty similar. I have a midwife appointment this week so will definitely ask her then! I have no other signs of early labour so I'm not worried. More impatient that anything! Hoping it won't be long 😬

MockingJay27 · 05/02/2020 09:18

@NailQueen9 congratulations!! Must of been a big shock I'm glad to hear both you and baby are doing well x

fibeee · 05/02/2020 11:20

thanks @NailQueen9! I've never had an overnight stay in a hospital before so the tips are welcome.

MissPepper8 · 05/02/2020 13:05

@NailQueen9 Gosh 33 weeks, so glad he's ok and off the oxygen, won't be long before he's home with you xx

@maria94 Yeah I would tell her if it looked the same, I know (somehow) your body can make a new one, so it's pretty clever keeping baby safe x
