Any news Jess???

Jesskir89 · 30/01/2020 16:47

Sorry ladies I had to drive straight to work. All is well :) fluid levels now fine and they're overall happy even with my GD and said if it stays like this now they won't induce me until my due date :) thanks for checking in x

barnyb · 30/01/2020 17:27

That’s fab news :) Less worry and hopefully all stays normal up until D day x

Jesskir89 · 30/01/2020 19:14

@barnyb fingers crossed. Being pregnant is so stressful lol x

fibeee · 01/02/2020 00:26

Anyone attending hypnobirthing classes? I went to my first one with DH at my hospital last night.

Was a great experience and really made me think about what I can do to make my home a more comfortable place to labour in in the early stages. We had to make a list of things in our home environment that cause our stress levels to rise and then things that make us feel more relaxed and will help labour to progress by releasing the oxytocin hormone. Probably sounds daft but it’s something I never gave any thought to!

barnyb · 01/02/2020 06:08

@fibeee hey I’m not doing any classes but iv been researching and YouTube ! Sound great 👍🏼 I’m hoping to labour at home as much as possible and then birth at birthing centre. I was originally going to hospital but there is a local birthing centre which is so nice and it’s so relaxed and it’s like it’s private you get your own room with shower and pool and husband can stay over with you! It all sounds lovely but obviously you can’t plan what is actually going to go down! Il prob end up ah the hospital knowing my luck! 😵🤩

MockingJay27 · 01/02/2020 06:24

I haven't been to any classes, but I have been sent a hypnobirthing guided meditation recording. I've been listening to it in the bath almost everyday it's really relaxing, I plan to do the same when in labour.

atomcats · 01/02/2020 08:25

I’m also attending classes (from next week) and currently reading the ‘practical ways to make your birth better’ book by the positive birth company. I was worried that it would be very ‘new age’ but actually I’m really pleased with how logical it is.

MockingJay27 · 01/02/2020 09:10

WE ARE ALL DUE NEXT MONTH Grin

I'm spending this morning washing all my newborn clothes

Jesskir89 · 01/02/2020 10:44

@mockingjay27 wow didn't think of it that way lol. I'm currently getting my hair and make up done for my baby shower later today :)

MockingJay27 · 01/02/2020 10:45

@Jesskir89 have a lovely day ! Mine is Feb 15th I can't wait

fibeee · 01/02/2020 11:01

Have a lovely day! Mine is also technically today but it’s just myself and my mum going for afternoon tea. Can’t wait.

MissPepper8 · 01/02/2020 16:03

@fibeee I was considering it, were they worth it? I bought "your birth, your baby" which changed my thoughts on having another baby (my first birth wasn't very nice). I did a lot of breathing techniques with the first one too, and I can say it really helped.

I'm actually hesitant to ring up because I don't want to jinx myself having a vaginal birth this time. Sounds stupid :(

fibeee · 01/02/2020 21:11

@MissPepper8 I’ve only had one class but I really felt the benefit of it. I’m lucky that I was able to get a place on an nhs course with a group of other parents to be.

Next weeks class covers how birthing partners can support with massage etc through early labour so that should be really useful.

Jesskir89 · 02/02/2020 00:06

@mockingjay27 it was lovely thank you. I was overwhelmed by the gifts as I told people not to bring them and just to come. @fibeee that sounds lovely x

MissPepper8 · 02/02/2020 00:14

@fibeee My one is nhs too, I might ring and ask :). Like in my brain I'm half thinking it'll be a waste of time as I'll get a section again when I really want natural, but I listened to a mp3 tonight and it made me feel a bit more positive. Sounds really lovely :) x

fibeee · 02/02/2020 04:31

@MissPepper8 I think hypnobirthing techniques can just help you to cope better with whatever kind of birth you end up having. I’m hoping it’ll help with my high BP and help me to have as natural a birth as I can.

Any other MTB burning the midnight oil? DH and I decided to go out for a nice meal and now I’m up with heartburn and a bouncing baby 🔥. I think they’re putting me in training now for the newborn stages.

sadtoday21 · 02/02/2020 13:17

Anyone else not having a baby shower?

Our family is all overseas and no one here to plan one for us. So far only my mum has sent some things for baby (I'm nearly 35 weeks). Feeling a bit sad, not about the gifts, but more that our first baby won't be celebrated in the way that he should be. I'm wondering whether I should hold my own thing for him or whether that would be tacky/weird? My mum keeps saying I should send a "registry" to relatives and friends, but that feels really wrong to me, so I'm not going to do that. I just want him to have a little celebration.

fibeee · 02/02/2020 14:30

@sadtoday21 if you really want to hold a baby shower for your little man then I think you should! I wouldn’t think it weird at all if I received an invitation for such an occasion. People host their own gender reveals now so why shouldn’t you have your own baby shower?

I personally opted for something very small with just my mum as there has been a lot of loss and heartbreak in my friendship group recently. I would have felt extremely uncomfortable having a big affair where friends were invited to celebrate my baby when things are still so raw for them.

Jesskir89 · 02/02/2020 22:39

@sadtoday21 2 of my friends held their own baby showers :)

atomcats · 03/02/2020 07:21

@sadtoday21 I’m not having a baby shower. I can’t say the idea appeals to me, but no one has mentioned it either so even if I did I probably wouldn’t have had one!

MiniJMac · 03/02/2020 09:16

Not having a baby shower here either and never had one with my first.

LittlePeanut33 · 03/02/2020 10:41

No baby shower for me either, not really my thing at all. Sister offered to organise one, but I'd just prefer a nice spa day with her and mum after baby is here and I can have an proper massage...

Went to a hypnobirthing class at my MLU... she showed us loads of videos of water births using hypnobirthing and they looks so calm and gentle... If it works it really does look an amazing way to give birth. I've been listing to a relaxation track she sent us, but it keeps putting me to sleep!

barnyb · 03/02/2020 16:33

Hey guys I'm not having a baby shower either. It's really not my thing. I hate the attention on me but also because iv lost previous babies I just feel like I don't want to celebrate until she's here! Il get a few of my family together when she's here and get a cake or something. Also we have all the things we need we don't need anymore pressies :) xxx
