@strawberrye hello! Ah so your finishing the same time as me then! I’m sorry to hear about your other pregnancies. It’s such a tough time but look how far we have come! I can’t believe it myself :)
yes I guess il be doing things like you mentioned. Apart from knitting ! I tried that once and I was terrible 🤩 I don’t have any friends who are off work and are mums. Actually maybe I need to find a baby class near me so I can find a mum friend ? lol that sounds so lame but seriously that’s the situation I’m dealing with lol !
Ok i just need to get motivated and get thinking :)
Hope everyone has a good day! X

Hi all,
Thought id just pop on and say hello. I'm due 9th March with my first, don't finish up work until the end of Feb... but I have an office job, so thankfully not too stressful and sitting down all day.

Going to pack a hospital bag tonight and try and get organised... In terms of baby stuff, are newborn sizes enough or is anyone packing bigger sizes?

MockingJay27 · 28/01/2020 12:21

@LittlePeanut33 I have packed 4 newborn sleepsuits which are 7-10 pounds. And 2 tiny baby ones which I think are up to 7. And about 5 newborn vests Gosh I hope she's not over 10 😳😳

MissPepper8 · 28/01/2020 14:35

@LittlePeanut33 whats growth like on babies chart to give you an idea?

DS was 60th and born 8lb 2 and I put next up to a month sleepsuits in and they were huge. For some reason he was a good weight but bugger all fit him as he was so small.

Newborn definitely, try a different brand too? I had George ones bought for me (same size) and they were a much better fit. So this time I have a mix of next, m and s and a f and f set I picked up as they vary in sizes xx

LittlePeanut33 · 28/01/2020 14:46

@MissPepper8 I've no idea how the growth scan thing is calculated haha.

I have a few newborn bits from different places - ill just throw a mix in and hope something fits him/her! haha

MissPepper8 · 28/01/2020 16:14

@LittlePeanut33 I guess lol and I'll probably be way off. They told me DS was 6/7lb when he wasn't. DS was 60th and this one's under the 50th so I'd expect him/her to be smaller (unless we put on some serious weight in the next 7 weeks lol).

Deffo do a mix, or if it doesn't fit put some in a spares bag so someone can grab it for you? I wish I'd done this and it's what I've done this time with pj's, knickers and extra pads for my DH to get xx

fibeee · 28/01/2020 16:41

Had my appointment with my consultant today at 32 + 6 and it unfortunately looks like my pregnancy is going to be classified as higher risk now. Consultant wants to keep an eye on my high BP and getting weekly BP and urine checks with midwife so they can check for signs of preeclampsia.

Definitely can't see myself finishing work at 39 weeks now! A few weeks of rest before baby comes (if I go to full term) sounds much more appealing now Grin

Jesskir89 · 28/01/2020 17:01

@fibeee sorry to hear that but good they're keeping an eye on you. I've been down as high risk throughout and it's nice to be closely monitored it reassures you x

singme · 28/01/2020 18:17

Bit late to the party and one of the last in the month but I’m 31+2 due March 29th. Hope everyone is getting on ok. Just under 5 weeks of work left for me (work in a hospital so always on my feet so didn’t want to stay any later than 36 weeks!). Hospital bag not packed but managed to get crib and pram sorted. Great to read all your updates and see what is to come!

MiniJMac · 28/01/2020 20:36

@singme Our due dates are very close. I'm due on the 28th March.
Sorry to year that @fibeee but it's best for them to keep a closer eye on you, might all be for nothing.
I'm going to start packing my bag tomorrow. Just need to wash all the baby bits.

fibeee · 29/01/2020 13:50

What everyone is thinking of dressing their baby in on the way home from the hospital?

I was thinking of a sleepsuit, cardigan, hat and mitts. With a blanket tucked around them in their carseat. But I'm wondering now if that would be too cold in March.

Should add that we'd be walking a few paces from the maternity unit to the car outside and then a few paces from the car to the house.

MissPepper8 · 29/01/2020 15:14

@fibeee I know I'll be in as I was in with my son, if I was in and out it would be a sleepsuit but I got a little wollen outfit with built in feet and hat. I'm in a different hospital this time too, no idea where we'll end up parking as it's miles to the maternity entrance.

MissPepper8 · 29/01/2020 15:20

Ment to say woolen above lol..

I'm struggling with low BP right now, my god I'm exhausted. I feel so teary, trying to do breakfast is a mission as if I stand for so long I feel dizzy and faint, and I'm getting confused (ridiculous thought butter toast, and I'd already buttered it).

I had this with DS not as near as bad as I could nap but he's really active, mum guilt setting in :(. Anyone else have this? I'm trying to drink more but it's not helping.

LittlePeanut33 · 29/01/2020 15:51

@fibeee I am thinking the same, won't have too far to walk from the hospital to the car and hoping it will be warm enough with a blanket.

atomcats · 29/01/2020 16:26

@fibeee I was planning on the same, but with a vest underneath and bringing an extra blanket just in case it is cold. But I’m due later in the month (probably more like April knowing my luck!) so I shouldn’t have thought it would be drastically cold. I had thought of a fleece snowsuit type thing just in case, but then they aren’t meant to wear that in a car seat, which is why I was thinking an extra blanket on the safe side.

MockingJay27 · 29/01/2020 18:00

I am planning the same, vest, sleepsuit, hat and mitts and I've got a fleece lined knitted cardigan, and blanket for the car.

Jesskir89 · 29/01/2020 20:07

Same here vest, sleepsuit, hat, cardigan and blanket :) I've got my follow up scan tomorrow from last week I'm a little nervous tbh. Hopefully the fluid has rectified itself

atomcats · 29/01/2020 21:25

@Jesskir89 hope it all goes well tomorrow

Jesskir89 · 29/01/2020 21:31

@atomcats thank you. Fingers crossed x

NailQueen9 · 29/01/2020 21:43

@Jesskir89 fingers crossed for tomorrow.

fibeee · 29/01/2020 21:53

@Jesskir89 all the best for tomorrow

Jesskir89 · 29/01/2020 22:26
