Sorry for the tmi but... almost 35 weeks and I've just had a bit amount of snotty whiteish discharge. Baby's head is also 3/5 engaged, could it be the start of my mucus plug or is it too early for that?! Freaking out a little bit 😳

Jesskir89 · 26/01/2020 20:36

@maria94 certainly sounds like it. I would ring maternity triage x

MockingJay27 · 26/01/2020 21:27

@maria94 could be! You may be the first in the group to give birth

maria94 · 26/01/2020 21:36

@Jesskir89 @MockingJay27 ahh I definitely don't want this baby to come just yet!! I've not had any more since but a lot of Braxton hicks. I'm hoping it was just in increase of discharge but time will tell!! X

Jesskir89 · 26/01/2020 23:04

@maria94 I would get a professional opinion just incase :) good luck x

MockingJay27 · 27/01/2020 16:02

@maria94 how are you feeling ?

MissPepper8 · 27/01/2020 17:25

@maria94 Did you contact your midwife in the end? Hope it didn't progress anymore. My friends plug went at 37 weeks but she didn't go into labour until 40weeks, it's risk of infection more than anything if it was your plug x

maria94 · 27/01/2020 18:27

Nope I've had nothing since so not sure what that was! Feeling absolutely fine except the Braxton hicks but I guess that's normal. Thanks everyone! X

jollybobs89 · 27/01/2020 18:49

How's everyone doing?? 32 weeks for me eeeek! Getting scared now! When's everyone packing or have they already packed hospital bags??

Jesskir89 · 27/01/2020 18:57

@maria94 glad you're OK. @jollybobs89 I'm 32 plus 2 also getting nervous now. Packed my bags just need some slippers and a house coat in it. I've overpacked as I'm being induced so baby has 7 baby grows and vests and a couple of hats, nappies, cotton wool, nappy bags etc. I've got toiletries, pj's, nighties, nipple pads and cream, going home outfit.

Jesskir89 · 27/01/2020 19:01

Forgot to add blankets, loads of knickers and loads of maternity pads lol

fibeee · 27/01/2020 19:21

Hi everyone Smile. March first time mum to be here due on 18th.

Starting to think about my hospital bag now too. Will make a start over the weekend!

Anyone else regretting when they picked to go off on maternity leave? I am due to go off 5 days before my due date as was happy with that decision. However now that I’m starting to have high BP issues it’s been like the straw that broke the camels back. Would literally go off tomorrow if I could!

Jesskir89 · 27/01/2020 20:01

@fibee welcome :) I'm due 21st March with maternity starting end of Feb unless I'm induced then it will be the week before. Have you spoke to your employer about finishing earlier?

barnyb · 27/01/2020 20:48

Hey guys! I had to start my maternity leave a week early because iv been struggling at work on my feet all day and my bump was getting in the way too much. Last night I had to go to hospital because I had reduced movements but turns out baby was fine and was just playing silly buggers !
I'm glad iv finished work but now I'm wondering what on earth im going to do with all this free time??? I'm really organised with bags and baby stuff! It's all been done!?
What are your plans for mat leave? Who else has started theirs?? Also I'm 35 weeks today :) hopefully she comes at 37/38 so then it's only a couple weeks I have to occupy myself xxxxxx

NailQueen9 · 27/01/2020 21:32

@barnyb a friend of mine suggested making some meals to freeze for yourself so that on busy days after baby is here you can just unfreeze and reheat!

fibeee · 27/01/2020 21:33

@Jesskir89 I haven’t mentioned it to my employer yet no. But I’m seeing my consultant tomorrow so will see what they say. Midwife thought that 39 weeks was a bit ambitious. Especially since because of my BP I’m getting more closely monitored now.

Keha · 27/01/2020 21:33

Hello, a bit late to the party but I am due March 2nd. Still got 3 weeks left at work, really feel like time is dragging! I don't think I am as organised as some people in terms of hospital bags, perhaps I am tempting fate and trying to get baby to come early. I am wondering how many maternity pads to buy, and big knickers??

barnyb · 27/01/2020 21:38

@NailQueen9 thank you that’s a good idea :)
@keha I’m due the 2nd too! Bless you for working up until your ready to pop! how are you coping ?
I just packed one pack of mat pads in my bag and I have one pack at home. I got a cheap 5 pack of very big black pants from primark. Because il just be throwing them away afterward anyway :)

Jesskir89 · 27/01/2020 22:02

@barnyb glad everything was OK. So jealous you're on mat leave I've got 4.5 weeks left unless I'm induced earlier than planned I should find out more on Thursday. Just relax and enjoy it :) @fibeee I would see what they recommend when you see them. @keha welcome :) I'm so nervous for my appointment Thursday I'll find out if I've still got too much amniotic fluid or if hopefully it's rectified itself

Keha · 27/01/2020 22:22

@barnyb I am quite lucky, my job involves sitting down most of the time, I can work from home often and no-one can give me much work to do now anyway as I won't get chance to do it. So basically I sit and stare at the computer and hope someone emails me something easy to do. Main issue is time passes very slowly. A few people have started making comments about whether they should have some towels on standby! I'm convinced this baby will be late and I'd be happy to go into labour in the office if that means it isnt Grin

barnyb · 27/01/2020 22:25

@jesskir89 oh bless you for having so much time left at work !! you guys are stronger then me! I really couldn’t cope any longer. The tiredness has come back with vengeance and sleep at night is non existent. 👍🏼 Xxx

barnyb · 27/01/2020 22:35

@keha wow that’s great for you then :) at least if your at home you can work in your pjs and get your snacks at your convenience:) I work in dental and I’m on my feet all day long. Reaching up high and down low in cupboards. Sterilising and cleaning all day so I found it really difficult running about. This is also my first baby from 3 pregnancies so maybe I’m being a bit precious too :)

Jesskir89 · 27/01/2020 22:58

@barnyb you're a couple of weeks ahead of me and I'm only in an office x

strawberrye · 28/01/2020 07:05

@barnyb I'm going off on mat leave relatively early too, have some annual leave and then mat leave but last day at work is next week at 35+2. It's such a personal decision, but I'm in a similar boat to you - this is my fourth pregnancy after three miscarriages and I work in quite a demanding and stressful job with a fairly long commute so just wanted some time to relax, enjoy it and get everything sorted before baby arrives. My plans are going to be batch cooking and freezing meals, cleaning the house top to toe, washing baby grows and nappies (going reusable cloth nappies), a bit of gardening if the weather allows it, knitting, swimming, meeting friends for coffee/lunch and lots of putting my feet up in between. Why don't you try to make a list of things you think you'll miss when baby is first here and treat yourself to some of them?

MockingJay27 · 28/01/2020 08:23

Hi everyone,
I'm 32+5 and I finish for maternity exactly 4 weeks today so I'll be 36+5. Unless baby is still transverse at my next scan on the 20th then I think I'll be finishing immediately. I am using some annual leave first so actual maternity doesn't begin until march 11th.
I can't believe in 4 days we can all say we are due next month Grin
