@Dinosauraddict Ah welcome back hun :) Hope you are taking it easy and looking after yourself now. Only 5 more weeks until you are induced then, I hope baby hangs on for you, least you'll be all prepared if you are induced xxx

MissPepper8 · 23/01/2020 20:16

@MockingJay27 my message disappeared so here goes again :/

I once watched a midwife programme where she recommended a hot water bottle (or microwave pillow) down below and a cold bag of peas on top as baby will go towards the heat. It turned this ladies baby from breach to head down in time.

With this baby he/she also goes potty if I have a warm bath and I can feel the head really low. Babies head is so low right now its giving my stingy groin and nerve pains. So maybe the warm idea is worth a shot?

atomcats · 23/01/2020 20:30

@sadtoday21I genuinely have no idea and it’s becoming a stress point more than it should. I assume something like a giant nightie would be ok? But then I think how does that work with skin to skin after? And then there’s The hope I can have a water birth so can I wear a swim top?? Sigh. I just don’t want to be naked in front of everyone...

sadtoday21 · 23/01/2020 20:38

@atomcats exactly!!!! These are my exact same concerns. Thinking of buying a cheap black nightie for labour bag that will not leave me totally exposed, but then wondering how skin to skin will happen immediately after and also about the water birth, etc. I don't want to be naked either! What do people do?

MissPepper8 · 23/01/2020 23:01

@atomcats @sadtoday21
I was thinking of picking up one of these, there are in different styles if you type gown in but they also have buttons at the back and front.

www.happymama.co.uk/maternity-skin-to-skin-labor-gown-71429.html

I didn't go in a pool but my sister did and only took a set and it had to come off as she was getting checks, she wishes she took more than one bikini bra x

sadtoday21 · 24/01/2020 00:08

@MissPepper8 @atomcats I was thinking this one, but I don’t think it will allow for skin to skin directly after? What do you think: www.amazon.co.uk/Hawiton-Breastfeeding-Nightdress-Maternity-Nightshirt/dp/B07W3XGCJB/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?dchild=1&psc=1&keywords=maternity%2Bnightdress&th=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1579824453&sr=8-7

sadtoday21 · 24/01/2020 00:12

The other option I was thinking of is this: www.seraphine.com/en-gb/black-cotton-skin-to-skin-tunic.html

But it’s kind of pricey and I think the longer sleeve shirt is more stylish than the tunic (but wouldn’t be good for labour because your bottom half would be completely uncovered!). Of course this one is better for skin to skin right after though. Any thoughts?

MockingJay27 · 24/01/2020 07:05

@Jesskir89 no they didn't say a centile but the mark on my graph looks around 70th x

atomcats · 24/01/2020 07:27

@MissPepper8 @sadtoday21 they look like good options, and similar to what I was thinking. I saw this on boohoo but wasn’t sue if it was actually button through or just looks like it is.

www.boohoo.com/maternity-button-front-nightie/BZZ46658.html?

Plus I’ve never bought anything from boohoo and feel too old to start now, but that’s another matter entirely 😂

DaniX91 · 24/01/2020 09:48

Does anyone else's baby have hiccups like 3/4 times a day? Is it normal or is it a concern? I stupidly googled it and read something about the umbilical cord x

atomcats · 24/01/2020 10:33

@DaniX91 is it an increase from the usual for you? If so I’d mention it to the midwife. I know I’m feeling more jittery about things since my reduced movements but at this stage of the game I think it’s worth over reporting just to make sure all is well. Or maybe call NHS 111 if you don’t want to go the midwife.

whiskersonkittenss · 24/01/2020 13:25

I got my date through for my c section, 27th Feb!

MockingJay27 · 24/01/2020 15:53

@whiskersonkittenss have you had a section before? How are you feeling about it?

whiskersonkittenss · 24/01/2020 16:02

@MockingJay27

He's my first baby, I chose a section as I have 2 ruptured discs and sciatica and don't think I'll cope with a natural delivery.
I'm nervous, so so scared about being cut open & awake!! But now I have a date for it I'm excited to meet the baby too.

MissPepper8 · 24/01/2020 16:48

@sadtoday21 The first one you posted looks quite stretchy so baby could go under? if you got a size up too it would allow for more stretch. I'm not sure about the pricey one, I'd be more afraid I'd have to change if waters went ect and couldn't wear it then.

@atomcats Noo if you like it why not try it? I've bought from there in the past, usually I'm quite happy with what I buy. If its a maternity one it should unbutton too. I picked up 2 in primark that were similar style (think they were £7), but I sized up incase x

MockingJay27 · 24/01/2020 17:13

@whiskersonkittenss oh right that definitely sounds safest. Yes just focus on meeting your baby it'll all be worth it. I have a scan on Feb 20th to find out if I need a section.

whiskersonkittenss · 24/01/2020 18:39

@MockingJay27
ah why would you need one if you don't mind me asking

MockingJay27 · 24/01/2020 18:42

@whiskersonkittenss she is currently lying in transverse position and has been a for few weeks so I will need one if she doesn't move head down.

Jesskir89 · 24/01/2020 19:06

@whiskersonkittenss you might be the first one to have their baby :) how many weeks will you be?

MiniJMac · 24/01/2020 19:44

@whiskersonkittenss that must be a strange feeling having a date now but nice knowing when you'll get to meet your little one.

Has anyone had pains at the top of their bump? All I can describe it as it being like I've got an intense stitch when I stand up/bend down.

DaniX91 · 24/01/2020 21:59

@atomcats hmm I've noticed her having hiccups for a few weeks now but I'd say it is becoming more regular. I've read the horrendous cord stories but I've also read lots that it can be a good sign breathing/digestion wise.
Does anyone wanna share any bump pics? I'm 33 weeks today and I feel huuuuge! I do feel like I haven't really put weight on anywhere else but my bump but I'm struggling to see how another 7 possibly 8 weeks will fit! Ha x

sadtoday21 · 24/01/2020 23:08

@DaniX91 33+1 today and my bump is about the same size as yours! Also feel huge and not sure how much larger I can get! Now I really need some maternity clothes for real.

Jesskir89 · 24/01/2020 23:45

This was me last week at 31 weeks ☺️ the last 2 weeks I've really sprouted

MockingJay27 · 25/01/2020 10:26

This is mine this morning at 32+2. I can definitely start seeing the weight gain in other areas now. Especially my thighs and face.

sadtoday21 · 25/01/2020 11:55

We are all getting so large now, exciting! I just bought a jacket in size 8 from Seraphines and I have to say I am not in my "pre-pregnancy size!" Can barely button around my boobs and does not feel or look good. I'm really despairing about finding something to wear towards the end of the third trimester - I'm done to one pair of jeans and one sweater for "going out" clothes! Hate that there are no shops around to try things on.
