@DaniX91 hahah don't worry I had the same panic!!😂 apparently it's easy to birth bigger babies anyway (not sure how?) so I'm just going to keep telling myself that! X

Jesskir89 · 03/01/2020 19:43

@daniX91 did they tell you what centile you're in? At 28 plus 5 yesterday my boy was measuring around 3lb and in the 60th centile. How far along are you?

DaniX91 · 04/01/2020 10:39

@maria94 hmm not sure I believe thaf one 😂 x
@Jesskir89 nope they didn't tell me anything like that. It was a Windown to the Womb one not an nhs one, not sure if that makes a difference.

DaniX91 · 04/01/2020 10:42

@Jesskir89 I'm 30+1 today.

Jesskir89 · 04/01/2020 23:30

@daniX91 if its private that's probably why they won't mark it on your growth chart. Ask your midwife at your 31 week appointment I'm sure she will be able to tell you if baby is bigger than average but you're only 1lb ahead of me but I'm a week and a bit behind you. I heard bug babies push themselves out as more gravity :)

MissPepper8 · 05/01/2020 12:38

Is there any truth in boys are bigger? As I read that last night. I think when DS was born at 40+1 he was 8lb 2 and 60th percentile.

I looked at my chart last night and at 28 weeks baby was just below 50th from my scan and measurements.

Aldi online has a baby event today if anyone's interested? I bought some bits and pieces as I've only bought clothes so far, but holding off on big items as we want to try move (I must be nuts).

Jesskir89 · 05/01/2020 18:29

@misspepper8 you must be nuts hahaha my dh has been after selling our house since I was 10 weeks and I said no lol. I hear asdas event is on from 9th too :) I only need a steriliser now x

MissPepper8 · 05/01/2020 19:49

@Jesskir89 I'm stupid, I'd be 8 months pregnant. We love our house but we won't fit when baby comes as we really need an office space too. I'm gutted and we've seen a house we love so going to ring on Monday.

I have lots from DS as he was born 2 years ago, but we need a new moses basket and snuzpod mattress/sheets ect (I even have two bloody infant car seats in my loft). I want to try breastfeed but handy hint we are getting again and used mam bottles and dummies which you can microwave to sterilise :) x

Jesskir89 · 05/01/2020 21:22

@misspepper8 you'll make it work. If the house is ready to move into you'll be fine. And the things you need you can pick up from asda etc. Let us know how you get on x

satsumasaturday · 06/01/2020 17:06

Hi all, sorry it's been a very long time since I last posted, not sure where the time has gone but I've been trying to catch up. Hope you all have had lovely Christmas and New Years. I'm 31+4 now which sounds serious and it's starting to dawn on me that we need to get organized! Having been very relaxed so far I had a panic this weekend and bought a fair bit of stuff which is now sitting in our spare room... we're hopefully moving house in a few weeks (Keeps being delayed) which is adding to the panic a little I think!! In the meantime we don't really have space to store it all, plus my dh makes the very good point that buying now just means we have more to move. Granted I completely understand his reasoning but I don't want to end up embarrassed if the baby comes early and it doesn't have anywhere to sleep!

atomcats · 06/01/2020 17:48

@MissPepper8 and @satsumasaturday my hat goes off to both of you for juggling everything! We moved in September and that was manic enough, let alone doing it at this stage!

MissPepper8 · 06/01/2020 23:19

@atomcats I'm in the same situation as satsuma I think lol. I just want baby to have his/her own space but we need an office as DH works from home alot :(.

I think I get it from my DM lol.. I remember being 8 months pregnant with DS and painting kitchen, his room and bathroom. I although have no doubt this will kill us, we did it a week before DS first birthday with this house. I think DH wants to take a hit and hire people but thats only the moving part.

I wish we'd done the same, I think it's gone so fast I've not had time to think x

atomcats · 07/01/2020 07:09

@MissPepper8 I completely get it, we were in a two bed flat but my husband works from home so the spare room was his workspace. Now we’ve moved we have the extra room, we just have to unpack (!) and actually sort things out rather than getting to the weekend and putting it off to the next one 🤦‍♀️

At least if it didn’t work out straight away the first six months baby is meant to be in with you so that gives a bit of breathing space (because moving with a baby would be so much easier....!). We didn’t realise this until after we started buying and thought “oh, we could have stayed...”. It’s funny how you get so attached to places even if they don’t really fit your needs!

whiskersonkittenss · 08/01/2020 01:16

Does anyone know what happens if you have chosen a c section but labour starts before your surgery date? If I go in the night will they be able to do a section? I'm not in labour but thinking ahead. My anxiety is through the roof this week Sad

MissPepper8 · 08/01/2020 10:33

@atomcats Ah you'll get it sorted, I got mad nesting towards the end lol.. I had partner doing stupid things lol. Yeah I mean DS was in with us until he was 6 months, as i've got a snuzpod to come in with us. It's just the clothes situation for baby (and like you said I stored everything baby in his room). I was so prepared with DS I got his room all painted, clothes hung ect.

We want the perfect place though so trying not to rush. Yeah I am sad, this house is perfect for us right now and we have a huge garden that we love.

MissPepper8 · 08/01/2020 10:39

@whiskersonkittenss I didn't want to leave your comment if you're anxious xx How many weeks will you be when you have it?

I've not had an elected section but I assume if it's for medical purposes they'd get you in pretty quickly if you rang up.

Also try not to worry too much x Most ladies tend to go over on their first babies, I have one friend who went before 40 weeks, the rest went after they had their 2nd/3rd sweep. xxx

maria94 · 08/01/2020 17:23

What's everybody using to clean baby after a nappy change to begin with? Do you have to use cotton balls and water or are those water wipes ok to use from birth?! X

whiskersonkittenss · 08/01/2020 17:39

@maria94 I'm using lotion and cotton pleats from the start. Some people recommend wipes for the first poos as they are hard to remove so im unsure. Maybe I'll take a pack with me incase.

@MissPepper8 I haven't got a date yet, I'm absolutely shitting it that I'll be forced to have a natural birth if I go in the middle of the night and no one can operate on me. (Back and nerve problems) just hoping I do go over and don't have to go through it

Jesskir89 · 08/01/2020 21:47

@whiskersonkittenss speak to your midwife about your worries love don't be stressing yourself out. Is anyone else absolutely knackered and not sleeping well? I broke down in work today, I've got a really stressful job and I'm not coping well at all. Dh wants me to go to 4 days but I'm thinking 4.5 days and having half day Fridays so I've got a longer weekend x

maria94 · 08/01/2020 22:33

@Jesskir89 could have written that myself! So so tired but can't seem to get a good nights sleep no matter what I try. Also working full time which is a struggle. No fun is it! I'd definitely reduce my hours if I could, take any help you can get I say! Glad to be getting nearer the end of things now. Hope you're ok x

maria94 · 08/01/2020 22:35

@whiskersonkittenss ah thanks! I've got some water wipes.. would rather use those as they seem a bit easier! Knowing me I'll take a bit of everything just in case 😅

Jesskir89 · 08/01/2020 23:09

@maria94 sorry you're struggling too it's awful isn't it? Can't get to sleep then when I do up at least 2 or 3 times for a wee. Don't your work place offer reasonable adjustments? I've got a meeting about it tomorrow x

MissPepper8 · 08/01/2020 23:58

@whiskersonkittenss I'd definitely ask mw, I think if I remember from my friend saying, she had a pre appointment to go over everything before they gave her the date. I can understand that hun, I think they'd get you in on the ward though until you had the section x

@maria94 I packed cotton wool and I'm getting some water wipes incase, babies first poo is really sticky. I think DS had 2 and DH cleaned them up with cotton wool as I was sore and exhausted from drugs, he only seemed to poop when DH came back in to be with us 😂 x

sadtoday21 · 09/01/2020 12:23

@Jesskir89 I'm so so tired, so stressed at work, and suddenly feel huge! Anyone else a bit dizzy sometimes too? Third trimester symptoms are finally catching up to me at 31 weeks!

Jesskir89 · 09/01/2020 12:25

@sadtoday21 it's awful isn't it especially with a stressful job. I had a dizzy spell in asda last Friday!
