Thanks all. Took ages to get him in position and it was a rescan so really pleased we got some pics!!
I'm 31 weeks today, c section planned for 39 weeks and can't quite believe it's so close now. I said to my boyfriend today it's only 8 weeks now til he's here and I think we both just thought "shit!!" Grin

maria94 · 01/01/2020 22:25

@whiskersonkittenss not long at all is it! I kind of wish we had a date set in stone to count down to.. I'm also 31 weeks and the thought of potentially having 10/11 weeks left if I go overdue makes me feel very stressed!!! Praying she comes on time😳

whiskersonkittenss · 01/01/2020 22:29

You know now you've said that, she will stay the full 42 weeks Grin
Has anyone packed their hospital bags yet?

barnyb · 02/01/2020 03:51

@maria94 yes! Totally !! Every day counts 😂

Jesskir89 · 02/01/2020 06:53

@whiskersonkittenss I'm almost 29 weeks and not packed yet but this weekend I am going to starr washing his clothes. My mum took his blankets, Muslins and bedding yesterday to wash for me :)

DaniX91 · 02/01/2020 09:42

Wow look at those photo's @whiskersonkittenss they're so clear! We've got our rescan tonight so I'm hoping she cooperates this time, she's appearing to be a bit of a madam already 🙈🤣
@Jesskir89 I washed all of her clothes (well all of the first size and 0-3) at the weekend and realised how much she's got, there is no way she'll be able to wear it all but my mam went mental buying ha. Just got her blankets and towels to do and I'm going to pack my bag this week before going back to work on Monday.
30 weeks tomorrow, where has the time gone?! X

barnyb · 02/01/2020 10:12

Hey guys. The last 24 hours baby movements are soooo obvious! Like I feel all the shuffling and she seems to be kicking around vigorously every now and then! Almost like a little bunny rabbit would kick its legs ! maybe she’s put on a bit of weight and everything is getting a bit tight now. I just love it though xxx

barnyb · 02/01/2020 10:15

Also New Year’s Eve we built the cot and Moses stand! It’s all up in my bedroom and I smile every time I walk in the room! I haven’t dressed the beds or put mobile up or anything yet. It’s all still on packaging. But this is HUGE isn’t it 🤩🤩🤩🤩

sadtoday21 · 02/01/2020 11:25

@whiskersonkittenss beautiful scan photos, congrats!

@DaniX91 wow you’ve packed your hospital bag already? You are super prepared! I’m 30 weeks today and haven’t even bought any baby clothes yet...Was thinking of packing my bag at 36 weeks. How are you feeling these days?

Do the clothes really need to be washed beforehand? I thought maybe not since you don’t know what size baby will be and might have to return some?

@barnyb setting up the cot does make it feel more real! We have ours up too, but I’ve covered it in some plastic for now. 10 weeks to go!

DaniX91 · 02/01/2020 11:29

@sadtoday21 hi ☺️ how are u doing? Can u believe there's only 10 weeks to go?! No I haven't packed it yet but I'm going to by the weekend. My brother was born at 30 weeks and I was born at 34 weeks so I've got my mam and dad both telling me to get it packed just incase!
I'm good thanks, can feel the tiredness creeping back in though. Can't wait for the scan later! X

barnyb · 02/01/2020 13:12

@sadtoday21 iv started washing the vests and the Muslins and blankets and a couple baby grows. My mum keeps saying that they never had to wash it all back when she had her children and thinks it’s all over the top. However my husband is extremely sensitive to new substances on his skin so I do worry baby will inherit this. BLOOMIN HOPE NOT!!
Xx

MiniJMac · 02/01/2020 14:05

Has anyone asked for a 36 week reassurance scan
from the midwife team? I've heard they are compulsory in some areas, but not where I am.

I'm going to ask tomorrow at my 28 week/bloods apt as my 1st born was breach (succesfully turned ecv) at 40 weeks and it runs in the family. If I dont get it, will be happy to pay for a private one to avoid a breach birth.

Jesskir89 · 02/01/2020 19:11

Hi ladies, had my first growth scan almost 29 weeks. Baby is around 3lb and in the 60th centile. I'm being induced between 38 and 39 weeks :) @dinosauraddict how did your scan go?

ttc19 · 02/01/2020 20:04

@Jesskir89 My mind boggles over this. I'm estimated at 3lbs at 28weeks but on the 50th centile.. so I'm assuming they're happy that this is just "normal" for me. My last baby was 9lb 15oz at 11 days overdue.

The positive birth company have some really good information on being induced. I was induced last time but am reading it all as I was terribly uneducated and misinformed when I had my daughter (not saying you haven't done research already!) x

MissPepper8 · 02/01/2020 20:09

I've not packed per say but for my Christmas present my mum bought me my baby bag and filled it with literally everything (haha I'm not lying.. She's insane). The only things I'm missing are a hair brush and flannels. She's got sprays for if you have stitches down below, even bought hand knitted blankets and cardigans bless her.

I've not had a growth scan, I did with my first 2 years ago. Im consultant led as this will be a vbac and I see Dr next Monday so maybe he'll say? I'm being treated totally different this time round, I've not seen my consultant at all yet and I'm 29 weeks

MissPepper8 · 02/01/2020 20:11

@ttc19 I think they calculate this with your growth chart iirc, so when you first went in they weighed and measured you and printed you your chart that you go on, that's right for your bmi and height x

ttc19 · 02/01/2020 21:00

Thanks @MissPepper8 ..

Oh I wish someone would do that for me re maternity bag ❤️

Jesskir89 · 02/01/2020 21:10

@ttc19 50th is bang on average. I've just started reading the positive birth book! Lol I've not done much research tbh but because I've got gestational diabetes they won't let you go to 40 weeks and I'd rather not risk it either tbh. @misspepper8 I was consultant led until diagnosed with GD and saw one after each scan except my 20 week scan as they were happy. I would ask him Monday :)

ttc19 · 02/01/2020 21:14

@Jesskir89 It's all new to me. I had none of this with my 1st.. just the occasional midwife appointment after the 20 week scan. I feel so clueless 🤣 Oh yes it's good isn't it. I feel much calmer going into this with a bit more info than I had the first time round x

MissPepper8 · 02/01/2020 21:44

@ttc19 Sorry if that's obvious lol, absolutely knackered today so may have misread what you said. I started having my bump measured, I can't recall what I was on the chart, think I was a week over on my scan but was same with DS.

My mums crazy lol but it's lovely, least I don't have to worry :) x

@Jesskir89 Yeah I mean I don't mind, less appointments the better, it's not been so full on as my first. Mw just said let's book you in to see him. I don't know what to say as I'm quite happy, only thing I would argue is I'd like mw led but the risks of my scar, I doubt they'd let me. It's reassuring, it really helped with my first, I had queries over my heart so they looked after me. You get to see baby too :) x

Jesskir89 · 02/01/2020 22:44

@ttc19 it's good to prepare but you can sometimes over prepare I think lol @misspepper8 at least you get the reassurance :) x

DaniX91 · 03/01/2020 09:38

Morning girls ☺️ We had our rescan last night and it was even worse than the first! The cord was right infront of baby's face then she fell asleep and nothing would wake her up so we saw nothing! Due to this, I was offered a growth scan instead which I took and now wish I hadn't! Can someone please help/reassure me please? Baby is measuring at 31 weeks 5 days, so almost 2 weeks ahead and weighs 4lbs 1oz!! When I was at my midwife appointment 2 weeks ago, I measured bang on 28 weeks. I'm not shitting myself that I'm going to have a huge baby! (I've attached a screenshot from the movie we got)

DaniX91 · 03/01/2020 09:39

It's gone blurry for some reason 🙄

maria94 · 03/01/2020 10:33

@DaniX91 I had a growth scan a few days ago and had the exact same thing! The measurements on the screen was coming up 2+ weeks ahead of what I actually am. But the lady doing the scan said everything looked normal. I've since had my routine midwife appointment and I'm actually only measuring 3 days ahead so try not to worry. It either means nothing or we are both having huge babies 😂 x

DaniX91 · 03/01/2020 11:03

@maria94 what a relief to read that! Been thinking about it all night 😥 ha. Literally lay on the bed in the scan room and shouted, FOUR POUNDS?! ALL OF THE APPS SAY SHE SHOULD ONLY BE TWO AND A HALF!!!! 😂 I'm at the midwife next Thursday so I'll see what she says and what my bump measures. Thanks for calming me down ha x
