Mitchell81 · 17/09/2007 20:59

Hello, can I join please? I think I am due the 11th, but I am sure when I get my first scan, that will change. I have a DD who will be 7 in October and DS who is 15 months. It was a shock this afternoon when I found out, as I was thinking we will start trying next year this time. I am very pleased.

ShellySara · 17/09/2007 21:35

Hey girlies, I just found a really good website I just had to share with you - www.justthefacts.org/clar.asp

Aquababe, best of luck for tomorrow, let us know how you get on.

Congratulations Mitchell81!

Catch you all later

blobsmummy · 18/09/2007 12:18

Hello Mitchell . De ja vu?!

podglet · 18/09/2007 15:23

Hi all, can I join too? Had my bfp a couple of weeks ago and my EDD is 3rd May as far as I can work out. This will be no2 for me as DS is 10 months old. Whilst we were ttc this one, we didn't expect it to happen so quickly as DS took 2 years and one dose of Clomid - this one happened on month 2! Fingers crossed it stcks as I do have a history of m/c...

We have just moved house too so have regisetered with dr and have appt for early next week.

Hope everyone is ok and not feeling too sicky.

GwenofLeeds · 19/09/2007 01:33

knock knock...me too..
gwen, edd 16/5/08 dd 16months born may 06
still a bit shocked eventhough we were trying, however i know what i'm in for this time..lol

jacobandlysette · 19/09/2007 10:50

hi everyone and newbies. will update stats list later on today.

been feeling really rough last two days. really sick and just dreadful. nearly fainted this morning. thing is i think part of it is a stomach bug - we went to a 4th birthday party o nsunday and after being there an hour were told that 3 of the 4 kids of the family were throwing up all the night before, all except for the birthday boy! course they don't know i'm pg so more susceptible to that kind of thing.

aquababe hope everything ok.

Hallo all, I'm 7 weeks now and due (I think) on 5 May 08. DS is 2 years 4 months.
How are you all today? Haven't had time to read the whole thread I confess but I sympathise with those who are sick... I'm feelin' pukey all day long... groogh. Seems worse than last time, or maybe my memory is just bad! I've been drinking weak pink ginger cordial which is LOVELY and helps temporarily. Has anyone had any luck with SeaBands?

aquababe · 19/09/2007 13:03

Hey everyone got Heartbeat
Might get a bit more bleeding, but it should be fine Just implantation not sure what pains were, but all looks good with baby
I was amazed that you could hear the heart beat guess I just hadn't thought about it.
apparently he/she's 7mm now.
Got the doctor's est due date as 7th may though really it's the 5th May
Oh and for your stats list I've a dd whose 21 months

Feeling like poo now was nearly sick on raspberry icecream
Also DH decided to try and serve me what can only be described as gruel. (it was supposed to be risotto but he made it with red rice, THat with the kidney beans & mushrooms. Blurrrgh!!!) I'd forgotten about the tiredness I've started taking a nap with my dd now which is good except people keep phoning

congrats asics girl where do you get pink ginger cordial from? sounds nice
and congrats podglet & GwenofLeeds

Hurrah Aquababe, congrats! I loved hearing the HB with DS, it's just amazing...

just sorted my return to work for the beginning of Nov makes sense to go back for a few months so I can claim mat pay again but will hate leaving DS in nursery full itme clearly work do not know I am pg again and I don't intent to tell them for a fair while yet!

I am also trying to nap with DS in the afternoons whilst I can to combat the tiredness. Seabands worked wonders for the sickness last time, will be purchasing nore shortly.

Gotta go, DS seems to think I am a climbing frame

PotPourri · 19/09/2007 13:35

Hi everyone. Welcome new joiners. Sick sick sick as a dog here. and I am shattered, I actually fell asleep on a conference call at work this afternoon - so embarassed!! I reckon I was probably snoring into my headset Got my booking in appointment for 9 Oct. And Scan will be booked at that.

WW,you asked about scans in SCotland, yes, we only get 13 weeks one here too (lanarkshire). When I was on London for DD1 we got 2 - but I didn;t take the second one as it was called anomoly scan, and the mw told me they would absolutely refuse NOT to tell me if there was something wrong (I am a worrier and didn't want to know), so there seemed zero point.

Anyway, here's the list updated with a couple of newbies. IF I'VE MISSED YOU, nothing personal, just add yourself on in your next post.

sydmum · 19/09/2007 14:09

hello - would love to join u; great to be able to share with others during this part of pregnancy. have to say i am a bit clueless on some of the jargon - am guessing that bfp is something to do with a faint positive? and ds is somethinfg to do with son?!! If so i got my bfp last week and my edd (know what that one stands for)! is 22 may - EXACTLY the same due date as my son who is 16 months.
Feel very excited and very lucky. Tho i had no symptoms last time from the moment i conceived til i went in to labour (so dont worry if u dont have any symptoms) but this time am feeling sick already - is this normal b4 5 weeks?

aquababe · 19/09/2007 14:41

congrats sydmum
I was a bit clueless with the abbreivations at first but theres an acronym list under site stuff at the top of the page that helped me no end.
bfp is big fat postive

Hi everyone. Think I may only just get on the May 2008 list. Due May the 26th! This will be my third baby! Oh god I'm going to be huge. Still in a bit of shock. Just wanted to say a big hello to everyone on here.

jacobandlysette · 19/09/2007 17:37

thanks potpourri for ading everyone on. i just can't face anything that makes me think today. had childminder here since 120 and have slept for 2 hours of it, in addition to the 1.5 hours i got with ds earlier. and i'm still wiped out. i think it's a bug rather than sickness as (sorry TMI) i can barely make it off the loo. childminder is staying till 620 to give ds his dinner as i can't face the struggle that it's bound to be as he had a pretty decent lunch (never has both good meals).

off to docs tomorrow morning although have declined to tell dh that the only things i am really keeping down or are making me feel a little bit more human are salted hula hoops and vanilla ice cream

god i hope it's a bug as i had no sickness with ds and really am finding this a struggle to cope with

Hello again... I have disappeared from the stats list so put myself back on. Hope you're all well.

This darned tiredness is really getting on my nerves - I just can't function past about 3pm and I'm usually in bed by now. I just can't remember it being this bad first time round. Roll on 12 weeks for the 'blooming' phase... though I can't remember that first time round either

Wow!! had not imagined there would already be a may 2008 thread!

Hugs and kisses to all.

I guess my EDD will be mid may. Have not seen Dr yet and can't exactly remember last time AF visited!!!

Will update soonest. I'm 33, have DS1 3.5 years and I'm in HOT and HUMID singapore.
Very very tired but thank God no nausea so far.....

mumofk · 20/09/2007 08:46

Hi all, sooo glad you're all here. I'm feeling soooo sick, sick, sick- can't move from chair without gipping. tried to get into car for work but had to give up. LOVELY childminder helped me get dd to her house (only 2 doors away but could have been miles). I'm wondering whether to ring mw coz at our hospital there's a mw who does acupuncture, but as I've only been like this 2 days might wait and see how things progress. I told work on MOnday, and Tuesday started getting serious, 'can't ignore this sick/sleepy feeling' symptoms- I get the feeling if I'd kept it quiet I'd still be feeling ok! I only told my team, but when I had to push folk out of my way to puke in the loo, the news travelled fast.
Only food I can face involves sugar?! Not a usual foodgroup in our house, had to send dh for supplies. Why did getting pg seem such a nice idea? Oh, and is anyone else getting heartburn yet, or am I just weird?
Thanks for being there, I'm so pathetic these days.
Good luck all, and I hope lots of you have very few symptoms at all (honest, not too !)

asicsgirl · 20/09/2007 09:23

Aquababe, so good to hear your news. Hope it all goes smoothly for you from now on.
The pink ginger cordial is made by Thorncroft - I bought it in a local shop - not sure if any of the supermarkets have it but I've also seen it online.
congrats slim22!

walkingwomb · 20/09/2007 12:00

Hey all - I can join in the nausea brigade! I have been feeling really awful - but it is much worse when I am tired and stressed. My job involves lots of travelling and I was away monday and tuesday this week and it was unbelievably awful. Back home yesterday i felt a million times better. i am V grumpy at work today and am being given the wide berth. Luckily I am going on holiday next Friday so will have two weeks of not having to pretend I am professional and great - woo hoo!

PotPourri - thanks for the scan advice. I am having my scan on 31st October and will be 13 weeks by then. I can't wait. I am going off the idea of getting a second scan for the sake of it for similar reasons to you.

Hi and congrats to all new people (losing track as there are so many now1).

WW xx

Re. scans - I'm in West Yorks and we only get a 20 week scan here! we're told it's because 'nobody knows if scanning too much can be harmful' etc but I suspect it's more to do with NHS resources...

In my first pg I had a scare (bleeding at 11 weeks) so I got an emergency scan then too. It was massively reassuring to see the baby springing around... But I have to say the 20 week scan was really magical too - so much detail, I felt I could almost see what his face would look like! Several people told DP it looked like him
