sorry to hear about your auntie goodcatholicgirl. Hope you are doing OK.
Just had our scan this morning (private as no 12 weeks scans here in Calderdale) and saw the littl'un for the first time. Awwww. Everything fine, legs kicking, arms waving etc. So it feels real now! Funny.
Now we are wondering about when to tell DS (2 years 4 months) about the impending new arrival. He seems very keen on everyone else's new brothers and sisters at the moment (lots of our friends are on their 2nd) so I think he will be excited. The only thing I'm worried about is that he has another 6 months to wait! Does anyone have any advice on this?

HI all - Just had my 12 week scan and pleased to report that all is well with little keanu, as we have nicknamed the bump. No we don't know if it's a boy, and no we wouldn't call him keanu if he was but we just thought it was funny, and now it's stuck!

I'm slightly further on than I thought, 12 weeks tomoz so due date now 2nd, not 5th May. I'm sorry I don't know how to update the list so if someone else is able to I would be very grateful .

Me and dh just tried to work out actual day of conception, from new EDD, but it would appear it was when he was away on a stag weekend ! He's been teasing me. Hopefully he realises they can't be that accurate, and I assure you, it's def his!!!!!

Hope everyone is coping OK with dreaded m/s. Sometimes I think mine is passing,then it all kicks off again. The thing that really really makes me gag, is anything wet, other than actual water. Wet towels (barf!), wet type food such as salmon (double barf!) in fact, I can't even talk about it! dh thinks I'm mad. I just keep saying I can't do things 'cos it's wet'!!!!! I am very fortunate to have a very supportive dh. I feel for all you lasses with dh's who are being not so sympathetic. Imagine any bloke having to go through this. Try telling them to imagine their worst hang over, and then feeling like that all the time for 8 weeks .

Can't understand how different areas can not offer 12 week or 20 weeks scans. Just less than 1 week till my scan. Can't wait feel like a child before christmas.
Trying to find summer maternity clothes, going to South Africa in December for a month and am sure will be in maternity clothes by then. Any ideas where to try, tried our local debenhams and they now longer stock maternity.

Just back from the docs, he can't do a lot about moving my scan forward but he suggested he try and find the heart beat with the doppler and bingo, there it was, loud and clear at 160 so relieved...

Glad other scans went well, lol at "keanu"

Podglet, so pleased for you, at least you can now wait till your scan with feeling better. I didn't think that you could hear the heartbeat with a doppler this early. R u very thin?? If you don't mind me asking?
I will have to get DH to get my doppler out the loft, ready to try. It worked really well last time, but I know there are lots of people who think that you shouldn't use them. Encase you don't hear anything and panic.

I don't mind you asking! Not v thin at all, was a generous 14 before getting pg this time. Was a 12 before DS. There is a fairly recent pic of me on my profile page...

The doc did warn me that he might not be able to hear it this early. I already think it is another boy.

Hi everyone. My scan was amazing. The baby did a little dance for us and it's healthy and lovely. My due date is 11th May so if anyone knows how to change it please could you change me to May 11th and I have no DCs. Thanks.

All these scan reports are making me really excited! I am glad everything is well with everyone so far (am terrified about something being wrong with mine, no reason to be and DH has started telling me to shut up). Have to wait until the 31st.

I was feeling sorry for myself with the MS but it seems like nothing compared to some of you

Please may I join? I would have come joined you all sooner, but I have been sick as a dog and fit for nothing!

I am due 11 May 08, with my first baby. We tried for 2 and a half years after an early miscarriage, but feel quite positive as the symptoms are so strong and horrid this time.

We moved house the week after I found out, and unfortunately I now associate my new home with feeling sick. I can't go into the kitchen without retching, and I haven't had the energy to start the decorating we need to do. Roll on the 2nd trimester!!

I have my 12wk scan next friday. Hope that will make me feel a bit better. Oh, and baby has given me a hernia already!

Has anyone started buying maternity clothes yet? I feel silly considering it at this stage but my jeans are all so uncomfortable! Maybe it's the wind!!!

Anyhoo, enough complaining, looking forward to getting fatter with you all! xxx

Welcome Mumso2be! I'm digging out my maternity trousers, and already using the 'bump belt' in the car, so...

Hi Mumso2be and welcome, I also moved house recently and have had the same problem of not being able to like it as much as i'd hoped because of feeling sick too, and having no energy to unpack etc so i can sympathise! I found with my 1st pregnancy I had to undo the button on my trousers at about 10 weeks so sounds about right to me!

Nice to hear people are having their scans now and seeing the little babies to be! I think it's normal to worry everything will be ok, the only thing is with dd i found there was always something new to worry about as after you get past one milestone there is always another one not far away.

Mitchell81 just wondering if you might be able to get away with a larger size in normal clothes, depends how big you find your bump is by then. Shops i can think of that sell maternity stuff are M&S, New Look, Next, Dorothy Perkins, H&M, Top Shop. The only problem is regarding those ones is that they only put maternity stuff in some of their stores and not all of them.

Just checking in. My morning sickness is bloody awful and now includes real vomiting. Yesterday I was sick behind my car in the school car park - niiice!

I have a booking in appt with midwife for 8 Nov and my scan appt is coming by post... hopefully!

I have the same midwife who delivered my DD2 at home 3 years ago. She said then that we should have 4, so she's even more excited than I am!

That's it. Now off to pre-school meeting. With my sick bag.

hayleyandbaby - Yay!! Glad your scan went well too. I spent all night on the phone telling my friends...how exciting!

My job for today is to dig out all my maternity clothes from 2 years ago. I was also due in May so have all the right season clothes already . I definitely need to be in maternity tops as belly growing (although only put 2 lbs on so far?? Weird but good!!) My jeans are mostly size 14 as last year still hadn't lost baby weight, and cos I wear the baggy 'boyfriend fit' jeans, think I will get away with them for a while yet.

Mitchell81 - Dorothy perkins def have summer mat clothes on sale at the moment. If not, I suggest ebay too. Sorry don't have any myself!

sorry to hear you're having such awful sickness duchess...mine has pretty much stopped now at 13 + 3. Thank God. started to fade last week and each day is easier. I know what you mean Mrs stresshead about standing up, I feel quite breathless a lot of the time.

Well I had my first scan this morning and all is well. Dates are bang on and watched baby leap about, very strange as obviously I caouldn't feel it at all. Going to show scan pic to grandparents to be this weekend.

Hi there, just discovered this brilliant thread and would really love to join in!

I am 11 weeks with #2, my due date is 10th May 2008 (I love writing that!) I have a son who will be 5 in November, who is so excited about finally being a big brother..we tried for 18 months for this one, and when I got the bfp I cried for half an hour still sitting on the loo!!

We live in Singapore, and even though i like it it's really nice to find a place like Mumsnet that reminds me a little bit of home. Coming back to visit at Christmas, woo hoo! Can't wait for that lovely cold weather; I'm not looking forward to being 8 months gone in 32 temp!

Just going out for lunch now, hopefully start feeling better soon. Thought the sickness was stopping, but no I was sick last night and this morning. When will it end, I am so jealous of those that are feeling better. I am 10+4, according to LMP.
