Woollymummy - EDD?, DD 15 months

itsazoohere · 12/10/2007 20:55

Just about managed to catch up on all of this-am very sorry to hear all those who're having bad times-hope it all works out.
Magicfairy-I had a stitch too last time-most of the time (or so it seemed). I'm dreading the constant leg cramps I seem to get every night when pregnant.
JackBlackRoady-no, none are teens yet, although terrifyingly my eldest DD turns 13 the day after the baby's due. I've also got DD2, 7 yrs and DD3, 8 months. I'm scared-I've only ever done large age gaps!

Woollymummy · 12/10/2007 21:55

sorry I can't be more specific about my EDD, I think it will be about MayDay itself! or thereabouts. I am sooo tired. DD has been really off napping recently, and I soo need to catch up on sleep during the day, as I am insomniac at night. I hope she settles down soon. V queasy, despeartely wanting to eat peanut butter doesn't help! I hope you are all well, sorry to hear of people leaving he group. I wasn't sure I would still be on, as had v sharp pains in my cervix last week, but still feeling noraml in other ways, and no blood, so I am being optimistic.

MrsStressHead - I am so sorry! I knew that would happen, stupid me

Same thing about your name toffeecrisp - I might have to walk to the shop in a moment and get one, although I expect it will just make me feel sick - listen to me whining on...

ItsaZooHere - my son is 12, will be 13 in Feb, but already has the teenage stroppiness down to a tee! I have been reading the thread on MN about pregnancy after large age gap, 13 years seems a lot to me but there seems to be loads of ppl with more than 13 years between DC1 and DC2!

Anyway, I've put Woollymummy in a better place in the stats list and put itsaZooHere's DD ages in. DO you think I should stop messing about online and go do some housework now???

Well I have been feeling more sick the last few days as we have discovered that our house that we moved into a few weeks ago has got a slug infestation in the hall and kitchen! It is absolutely foul, it makes me feel ill. We have put down pellets and killed some of them but they only come out at night, what I can't understand is how the previous owner could have lived here with it like that. Now we know why he'd put down new carpets to sell it as they were probably covered in slime, yuk!

Sorry, was attracted by your slugs. You are not alone! Just last week I started a -trail- thread on house slugs! Sorry. Very little cure for them I fear...

IndigoBlue · 13/10/2007 17:24

Thanks, nice to know I'm not alone but hopefully we will be able to get rid of them, don't know if i can live here if we can't!!

magicfairy · 13/10/2007 21:01

Indigo, that sounds really grim, I feel sick at the thought of it, feeling for you!
Well my stich pain has subsided today, only there very slightly. I did have similar thing with DS but much later on, midwife thought it was a strech or something, maybe its just a bit thats always gonna go now! Feeling sick on and off again tosay and like lots of you when not feeling sick am ravenous, but then have to be careful what i eat, had a pasty for my lunch today and spent the rest of the afternoon feeling v sick!
Just had a lovley bath though and am going to try and avoid the rest of the rugby with my book.

Mitchell81 · 13/10/2007 21:34

Indigo: I feel for you with your slugs, I would be staying elsewhere until the slugs were gone. Pregnant or not!!

Just got letter through for my consultant appointment for the week after my scan, and it says allow 2 hours coz you will be scanned?? So why waste time with two scans 1 week apart?

Hayleyandbaby · 14/10/2007 10:46

I don't know how likely this is but I'm convinced I'm further on. My LMP was August 7th and I had a 6-7 weeks scan (6 weeks and 2 days) when they said that they can't tell how far on you are by a scan that early. The baby was 7.8mm. I've just been reading that at this point it should have been 4-5mm.
My LMP was very light and a little unusual so I was half wondering back then anyway.

I've had really bad growing pains all the time and put on weight really quickly.

I also had a positive test on 1st September, 4 days before I was due on (4th September) and it was only a cheap rubbish test that wasn't one you use to find out early, you're meant to use it on the day of your period and it was still positive early. The next day i did two more and they were both positive too.

I'm almost ten weeks now and I have my booking in scan on the 18th so I'm sure I'll find out for definate then, but I'm inpatient and can't wait... what does everyone think?

Hayleyandbaby-I can't help you, but I was confused by my scan too. They put me at eight and a half weeks, but said that they were surprised to see the baby had arms and legs. Surely the development would asses how far gone I was-at least as much as the size of the baby? I'd only had one period since my dd3, so I'd really no idea what was going on. Anyone any ideas?

deepblue · 14/10/2007 18:30

Hi all,

Hope everyone is managing ok

Hayleyandbaby - when I had scan at 6+5 (they dated it that day as I was having wonky cycles) the baby was 7mm, so I guess around 7 weeks would be about right? I find that the books all have totally different info on how big the baby should be at certain stages so I've stopped paying attention to them.

mrsstresshead - goodness, you must be worried. i hope everything is ok.

I think I'm starting to feel a bit better now, but had Thurs/Fri off work so I've basically lain around for 4 days. Might be a different story at work tomorrow...

I've not been able to eat hardly anything for about a month which can't have helped. Living off bagels and mashed potato ugh. Yesterday I had a bowl of pasta and then cherry pie and had a whole ciabatta sandwich for lunch today

deepblue · 14/10/2007 18:38

itsazoohere - you've just reminded me. H came upstairs a couple of weekends ago to find me sniffling away. I ran over for a hug and he's going 'on no, not again...' (was being a bit emotional ). anyway eventually managed to show him a pic in one of the magazines of an 8 week old baby (is it a foetus by then?). I'd gone and got so overwhelmed at the fact it had arms and legs I burst into tears!
Now he's telling everyone lol

itsazoohere · 14/10/2007 19:02

Deepblue-my ex dp STILL (7 yrs on) talks about the time I got stuck in the bath 9 months pregnant. Unfortunately, at the time, he didn't just tell people. He called his mates round to come and laugh.
No surprise he's an ex!

goodcatholicgirl · 14/10/2007 21:09

HI all - just a quickie. Found at a few days ago that my Aunty died very unexpectedly . She was only 61. I was very close to her and will miss her so much. Now I want a girl in May so that I can name baby after her (Mary).

Only a few days til scan now. Good luck Hayleyandbaby too!!! What time is yours? Mine 12:30pm.

Hope you are all well

Hi Guys - Just got in from my Scan. Definitely a baby there (just one)! Little heart beating away at 165 which is apparently good. Nearly 2cm in length - so 8weeks 2 days - I thought 8+5 so close enough! Next scan at 12 weeks on 10 November. I feel so much more confident now, but I guess I should still try to restrain myself a little until the 12week mark. Eating a big chocolate bar in celebration before I go for my nanna nap .

Mitchell81 · 15/10/2007 08:51

goodcatholicgirl- sorry about your aunt

Pleased everyone is having there scans and finding out the official EDD.

mrsstresshead- I am in Aberdeen, but the appointments are at different hospitals, I don't want to cancel the first as I am getting impatient, so if I have to have two scans, I don't mind.

Still feeling rubbish, but seem to only be getting sick twice a day now, so hopefully it is settling.

blobsmummy · 15/10/2007 10:47

Hi all,

Only being sick in the morning, so things are gradually easing off (she says with finger, toes, limbs etc. crossed very tightly)

When I was being sick at the weekend, DD (aged 16 months) kept coming up behind me and rubbing my back and giving me cuddles - think it's scaring her to see me throwing up!

Got my scan on 29th October and consultant appt on 1st November - hopefully that'll go well. My friend went on Friday for her 12 week scan and was told that the baby had died - she had no idea that anything was wrong as she had no bleeding or cramping and was being sick as normal, so it was such a shock to her. Can't wait for my scan now just to confirm everything's alright.

Hayleyandbaby · 15/10/2007 12:35

MrsStressHead- it's ont he 18th. God the first few weeks are confusing arn't they? It can't come round quick enough as I have cramps, but I have IBS so I don't know if it's that.

GoodCatholicGirl- Sorry to hear about your aunt, and so young. It would be lovely if you got a girl for that reason. Crossing fingers for you. Mine's at 1.20!! Not too far apart! Ooo I can't wait to exchange gossip about it. I'm absolutely terrified about going but my DP is so excited so I'm trying to be optimistic. I think I'll keep my eyes closed until they say it's still got a heartbeat. Last time I thought there was nothing there and quietly panicked but I was looking at the wrong bit.

I've found the best thing for sickness is the Matthew's Fruit pop lollies I used to have when I was a kid.

Has anyone got first hand experience of how hard it is to lose baby weight? I'm naturally a big lass but dieted hard for ten months last year and got down to a small size ten having dropped 5 stone. I'm getting big straight away and I'm getting married in 2009 so I want to be back to a size ten for then as I've found the most amazing wedding dress and also because we're getting married abroad with all the familey so i don't want to feel like a beached whale.

Good luck to all with scans coming up...

blobsmummy · 15/10/2007 13:38

I lost all the baby weight with DD in the first couple of weeks - HOWEVER - I was still in my maternity stuff 5 months later as my tummy was so flabby and horrible. Only at around 6 months did I wear 'normal' clothes again. Maybe I'm just strange?!

podglet · 15/10/2007 13:44

Hi all,

Oh, my scan seems so far away compared to you guys - I have to wait til the 25th! My first consultant appointment isn't til 29th November!!!

Hayley - wow - congrats on that 5st loss - am very DS is nearly a year now and my will power is shocking so I am only just back into my normal clothes - just in time to go back into my mat things

Goodcatholicgirl - sorry to hear about your auntie, what a shock for you we named DS after my much loved grandad (he died a couple of years before DS was born) and I think it is a lovely thing to do.

Sorry everybody else, not a lot of time to catch up, DS is being a horror!

bobsmum · 15/10/2007 13:51

I think you're right blobsmummy about tummies - I found I got back to roughly the same weight after my other 2, but my shape was different. I wore baggier stuff for a few months aferwards too. Having a section with ds didn't help as I now have a permanent "pouch' which won't shift - now I know why all the celebs have a section and a tummy tuck at the same time

I'm heavier this time and a bit concerned about getting heavier still as I had SPD really badly with dd and being overweight doesn't help at all. Most of the weight seems to be in my boobs though

Once no3 is born and I've finished breastfeeding I'm going to seriously look into having a reduction op. I'm a 32G (and rising!) and only 5foot zero, so I'm very out of proportion and have a very sore back.

SCan on Friday - having a missed miscarriage is my worst nightmare - had one at 9 weeks - so sorry for your friend blobsmummy. I'm terrified it'll be the same for me - I was clinging on to the fact I still have a lot of symptoms - but it sounds like your friend did too

Dh will hopefully get time off work to come with me and mind dd at the hospital.
