Hello again

brunettemum - sorry to hear your bad news. I had a miscarriage before my dd was born and it's a horrible disappointment to go through.

hayleyandbaby - I think it's quite normal to feel a bit crampy. I have definitely felt like that every day for the last ten days or so.

Hope everyone enjoys their birthdays / nights out etc - why is it that alcohol suddenly seems so desirable when it's forbidden??

podglet · 04/10/2007 09:22

Happy birthday for yesterday Hayley!

So sorry to hear your news brunettemum. Look after yourself.

This will be my second fun free christmas as last year DS was only 7 weeks and I was bf him ho hum... a very small glass of champers for me then.

MW rang me this morning. She is coming to do my history next weds and I will get scan date in post. However, this will be late arriving as I have just heard there is a PO strike again next week for 3 days

Mitchell81 · 04/10/2007 09:48

I am so sorry brunettemum

magicfairy · 04/10/2007 10:46

brunnetemum so sorry to hear your news, big hugs sent out to you.

I have just spoken to my new midwife and she is coming to see me next Friday, quite excited, dont feel pregnant though, except constant sickness. DS up for most of the night puking, really easy to deal with when you felling super sick too!!
We also have the same issue as to wether to think about moving DS into a bed, he will be 20 months, but we plan to have ickle bean in our bed for 6 months anyway, so figure wont have to until hes 2, maybe. but do worry though as he really moves in his sleep!

Hi all,

Brunnetemum, I'm so sorry to read your news.

Thanks to those who said how long the first MW appointments are. I had mine this morning and it was 45 minutes. I came back with a huge amount of booklets, leaflets, claim forms etc!

I'm glad I got to see the MW today, as just before I went I had a small amount of light brown, erm, discharge (sorry if you're eating!) but she wasn't worried when I mentioned it.

She's now put my EDD at 14th May, but I'll wait and see what the scan says!

It was all a lot to take in, had to pick which hospital (I don't know anything about the Maternity unit at either!) and have said yes to the Nuchal test.

Just got to wait about 4 weeks now for the scan. It's going to be a looooong 4 weeks. I can't wait to see little bean!

Hope you're all doing well.

Grinningbee

Brunettemum - really sorry to hear your sad news.

Hayley&baby - happy birthday for yesterday!

Pregnabrain - Hi and congratulations!

Mrsstresshead - I live in Timperley, near Altrincham. I get my scans at 12 and 20 weeks, & already had one last week to check everything was ok due to bleeding which thankfully it was.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I've also been thinking about the cot / bed dilemma as dd will be 21 months when the baby arrives. Anyone else thinking about double pushchairs yet - I think I'll probably need one but not sure which one will be best.

Hi,

We get scans at 12 & 20 weeks but we are thinking about having a sexing scan which will be at about 23 weeks. We don't mind which flavour no2 is but I would like to know wheter to keep the blue things or sell them to buy pink!

DS will only be 18 months when this lo arrives so he will still be in his cotbed. We will have the crib for the first 6 months then no2 will get a cot bed too.

I will have to get a twin pushchair - I am looking at the out abd about 360. My friend had one for her twins and I love pushing it!

bobsmum · 04/10/2007 17:39

I'm in central Scotand.

We only get one scan, somewhere between 10-14 weeks. I'm 10 weeks today, so I'm hoping I'll get a date very soon.

Brunettemum - so sorry for your news

Mitchell81 · 05/10/2007 09:24

I am also going to get the 3D scan done privately, We need it for medical reasons and the detail is so good. NHS will give us extra scans after 20 weeks due to my daughters medical condition, but won't offer 3D scans. We had it done with my DS and it is worth the £200. Also will be nice to know what we are expecting, to pack away or take out pink or blue.

jacobandlysette · 05/10/2007 09:26

indigo we are going to get a phil & teds - PIL are in NZ and it's a NZ brand so it'll be reasonable rather than the ridiculous price tag they whack on it for the UK market!

OP posts:
Mitchell81 · 05/10/2007 09:31

The buggypod is also good for attaching to a single buggy. Still means eldest can have a seat.

magicfairy · 05/10/2007 10:17

We thinking about the phil and teds too, although cant afford it new, typically saw one advertised in local paper for £150 the week before we got the BFP!
Had a rotten day yesterday with sickness and tiredness, feeling a bit better today though

asicsgirl · 05/10/2007 12:25

Where we live the streets are very narrow so the only real double buggy options are those 'tandem' ones (where one sits behind the other). Reckon they must be v. v. heavy though...

I'm hoping to avoid having to buy a double buggy altogether. DS went everywhere in the sling for ages when he was wee - hoping to do sling + buggy... I thought about sling + backpack for a while (DS loves his backpack) but thought I might look too bizarre! And/ or collapse under the weight .

Hayleyandbaby · 06/10/2007 11:43

Happy Birthday MrsStressHead for yesterday. Hope you had a gud'n.

Brunettemum-sorry to hear your news, you'll be in my prayers too.

I don't mean to whinge because some are so unfortunate, and also because I already love lil bean. But my hormones are so crazy I'm being horrible to my DP and I don't mean to be at all. I've never in all the time we've been together suspected him of cheating for a second, he doesn't even look at other women and loves me to bits, and yet I can't stop accusing him at the moment. I know I'm being stupid but I just can't stop how I feel. Everyone's around me and being so lovely and optimistic and yet i feel so lonely and cry every single day.
Ya know when little kids properly cry and make all the proper cry noises? I'm getting like that!! Totally uncalled for but beside myself.
On the upside my sickness is going a little bit, though still there in the evenings.
I feel so silly and guilty to him but I look awful at the moment and I'm horrible so I keep expecting him to run off with all his cousin's pretty mates.
Sorry for my big whinge, I just really needed to get it out and put it in perspective, as I'm so overpowered by my hormones that all my upset feels very real to me.

Hope no one else is like this!!! It's horrible!!

Helen3472 · 06/10/2007 13:19

Hi there,

I'm just new to this whole pregnancy thing, just found out I'm around 6 weeks pregnant after a year of trying, due date guessed at end of May.

Is it normal to worry about every twinge and niggle? Am waiting for my first appt with midwife and can't wait to unload all my questions on her. Is it norml to get little stitch like pains in the sides of your belly?! I also don't have any ms yet, just feel a bit 'carsick' when the evening comes around.

Have added myself to the list!

Good luck to all

Helen

bobsmum · 06/10/2007 14:24

Hi Helen! Congratulations

Yes every niggle and twinge is normal. In the first few weeks I've always felt like I'm just about to start my period - not quite cramping, but definitely uncomfortable.

As for the morning sickness I'm getting evening sickness with this one. I was only sick once in my other 2 pregnancies and this time not at all, but car sick is a good way of describing it. I know some folks get those seabands wrist thingies for seasickness.

I seem to have a window in the morning where I feel quite weel and then I'm exhausted by about 2pm (ie right now!) and could do with a sleep. By 6pm even the thought of food makes me wretch and I have to force something down to make it ease a bit. Lovely! Definitely feeling sicker than with the other 2.

Now 10 weeks and desperate for my scan. STill not seen m/w - she cancelled my appointment because it "wasn't that important"

Hayleyandbaby · 06/10/2007 15:36

I'm getting tiny little butterfly flutters in my tummy sometimes!!! Right where baby is!!! I know nrly 9 weeks is early to feel it but I just can!!!

Am I the first???

I'm so happy!!!!

teeheelaydee · 06/10/2007 15:41

New to all this too. Been watching on the sidelines. Probably because don't fully believe I am pregnant, but picked up pack from doctors on friday and now it all seems too real !! Think I am due 24th ish of May.

bobsmum - DP wrote off our car last week too so also have the nightmare of finding new car. Just can't be bothered - want him to just bring home a car with a decent sized boot and 5 doors !

Anyway - hello everyone - fingers crossed for you all.

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 06/10/2007 15:42

hey just popped over from the due april thread, see some of you are worrying about all the little twinges etc, so are/did we!!
But most of us have had scans now and babies are fine, so try not to worry!!!
oh and Good Luck!

Hayleyandbaby · 06/10/2007 15:43

Welcome teeheelaydee and helen.

Our cars just gone kaput too, but someone has given us a car worth £2000 for £300 for a quick sale!!!! Very happy about it and can totally see baby in it without me worrying. Good luck finding a new one!
