Still feeling sick, welcome to the new arrivals and congratulations. I enrolled on an Open university course which arrived yesterday and now I am panicking coz it is a 9 month course with an exam at the end, probably afew weeks after baby arrives by C/S. But don't want to delay as will struggle even more after baby arrives to do the course work, so need to get it done quickly.

Added self to list - finally worked out how.

morning all.

Just enjoying my few hours in the morning when I don't feel sick or tired and actually feel quite normal!!

Hayleyandbaby - Don't worry about your hormones, WE all understand, and at least you can recognise that you are only feeling like this cos of hormones. Your DH will understand, if not now, then when you feel back to 'normal'. One of my friends was similar to you, with DH. They laugh about it now.
I am just very tearful. We told dh'd (big) family last week, and I welled up, in front of my neices and nephews etc!! Then I told 2 good friends this weekend, again, welling up each time I said the words 'I'm pregnant again'!!!!!!!! Even had a little tear at strictly come dancing last night when all the ladies danced together, (they just looked so happy )!

Good to discuss the double buggy thing. My dd will be 2 in May. I am hoping to not bother with a double buggy. Got a Bugaboo for dd, which I still love, and you can get buggy board for, and recently bought a chepaer stroller for when we travel, so we have 2 buggies for when DH is around (which is often as he works shifts). DD also walking well, so I am planning to 'train' her up to walking into town, which is a 15-20 min walk for me (so about 3 hrs for her ).

Also interesting to read the bed debates. DD in cotbed now. New baby will be in crib for about 4 mths, so dd will be 28 mths when she has to go in a bed, should be OK hey??? I can get those cot sides for the single bed.

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow. Got my scan on 18th, only 11 days away!!

Keep well all of you.

Off to mass this morning (I am a good cathlic girl afterall) to pray for all our new lives growing inside us.

P.S. Anyone 'showing' yet. I know it's v early, but I heard that you often show sooner with 2nd pregnancy. my tummy def bit bigger and firmer!!

AussieSim · 07/10/2007 10:47

Just sticking my head in to welcome newbies and pass on condolences to brunettemum and aquababe.

I have been trying to rest a bit the last few days as am feeling anxious about the period like pains in my tummy and a very small amount of light brown discharge yesterday. I am 7+5 and my 1st scan is 1 week away. I am most definitely showing, but then this is no.3 (or 3 and 4)

I've decided to give away the natal vitamins as I think the iron in them isn't helping matters - I will just take folate and B instead and watch my diet.

Fingers crossed for everyone. Sim

Kanga44 · 07/10/2007 11:12

So the buggy boards...do they not get in the way of your feet? ive got long legs so do big strides so dont really want to walk looking like ive crapped myself by dodging the board lol

Im still quite sicky...feel better when im eating which is odd....but its the actual getting something to eat where I could puke my guts up!

I was 8 wks yesterday. My sister is 3.5 wks ahead of me and theres an 8 wk gap between our girls

tc all xx

IndigoBlue · 07/10/2007 12:58

Well I went and saw the community midwife on friday because the gp had said to see her. I had thought it would be the same midwife I saw when I had dd but it was one I'd never had before and she was pretty useless. I felt like the whole thing was a total waste of time and she wouldn't even bother to work out my due date just said I had to wait til 12 week scan to be given it. Obviously I know roughly what it is but would be nice to be given more of an official date as I am just going on internet calculators.

Thanks for the pushchair suggestions, it normally takes me ages to decide about these things so like to start thinking about it early!

My stomach never went flat after dd but feel like I have a bit more of a bump than usual. Will be good when I can tell everyone after the scan so then I won't have to keep trying to hide it!

Aussiesim - fingers crossed for you that all is ok.

Welcome to all the newcomers

Hayleyandbaby · 07/10/2007 13:22

Thanks mrsstresshead and goodcatholicgirl. I feel much better today. I havn't shouted or snarled once and it's 1.15pm!! I think talking on this site helps because I can get it out without snapping at my DP. Hope you feel better soon too.

I am definately starting to show. My tummy went fat straight away coz I havn't stopped eating, but now it's starting to go hard and I can feel baby fluttering about now and again which is nice. If I hadn't had a scan I'd be convinced I was further along. I've not even received my twelve week appt from the hospital even though they've told the doctors they've sent it out, so I best ring them I guess.

What does everyone think of bebecar prams? I love them coz they're so bouncy and have the swivel front wheels. I don't know if I've said this before but the people in the shop told me that they always get mammas and pappas back for repair.

Hope everyone's ok.

bobsmum · 07/10/2007 14:37

Teehee - 24th of May is my birthday - what an excellent choice of due date

Hayley - have replied on your b/f thread

goodcatholicgirl · 07/10/2007 16:55

mrsstresshead - if you're buggy is in good condition you could consider seling it on ebay. I think mamas and papas ones hold their value quite well. Might be worth a look.

I agree, buggies aren't about style, believe it or not, I don't actually like the look of the bugaboo, but I do love mine, the versatility and manouvrability of it. I can puch it one handed with great ease, and it's so light too. So that's why I have it!

Kanga44 · 07/10/2007 20:21

hayleyandbaby....you can feel flutterings already? wow....I thought I could but mines wind heehee

mumofk · 08/10/2007 20:27

Hi all, my waistline has definately expanded but not actually put weight on (thank god, the nausea and vomiting has a slight bonus- I'm fat enough!). I've been a bit down with all these miserable symptoms, but had a day off last week sick and found a depressed thread in the pregnancy section, and got some tips that are making me more positive again. Fingers crossed, the acupuncture also seems to be helping and I've not been as sick since Friday (second treatment, and no more for 3 weeks while m/w on hols).
Sorry to be pessamistic but don't think it'll be bouncing bean you can feel,haley- mine measures 45 mm today (11 wks) and they're surrounded by so much fluid in the sac inside your uterus, even if you're stick thin the uterus is still pretty much in your pelvis with all your bowel and general innards being squished up ( excuse technical terminology!!) so IMO its vvvvv unlikely.
Good luck all! Sorry, failing miserably to keep up with all on here, so happy bumps, good luck with the symptoms, and take it easy,
mumofk

TheDuchessOfCorpseBride · 08/10/2007 20:51

I've started taking Vitamin B6 tablets, according to morningsickness.com it can help with the nausea. I started taking it on Saturday and certainly feel a whole lot better today. Over the weekend I suffered from the worst sickness I have ever felt through any of my previous pregnancies.

The boiled sweets/salted peanuts/oranges and ginger ale diet I am on may also be helping.

JackBlackRoady · 09/10/2007 08:41

Hi all, hope you are all feeling ok today. I had bad news on Friday, my mum had an aneurysm in her brain which ruptured, making blood build up pressure in her brain, so DH, DS and I raced up the country to see her all day Sat and Sun, she had surgery today and now is on a ventilator and in intensive care, they won't bring her round yet because of complications. I was so sick last week I was off work Wed to Fri, then over the weekend I was just tired. But went in to work yesterday morning and was so tired and sicky, I couldn't do anything, had to be driven home by a colleague. Went to the Dr and he said I have an infection in kidney or bladder causing white blood cells in urine. He gave me antibiotics but didn't say if this was why I am so tired and sicky, or if its just worry and stress, you know. Oh, anyway, I don't know why I am whining on apart from the fact that its good to offload, sorry. Mum is actually lucky as most of them lead to death or brain damage but too early to say what will happen. Awful cos we are 4 hours drive away. I am debating with myself shall I go in work or not, I feel exhaused thinking about teaching year 10 and 11, let alone actually doing it. But if I am going to be off I need a doctors note and i don't know how that works, do you go back to the Dr and ask for one? Or just ring reception and then pick it up? I also feel really bad that I keep snapping at DS, he is such a stroppy teenager sometimes, then I feel bad for having a go at him (Hayley I sympathisise). Anyway thanks for being there xxxxxx

blobsmummy · 09/10/2007 09:09

JackBlack - Sorry to hear about your awful week. Kidney infections make you feel absolutely awful - very very tired and sick. Thinking of you [hug]

Hayley - have got to agree with the others - it's wind you're feeling! It's amazing the amount of gas pregnancy can create, even if you're not normally prone to that sort of thing. The baby is so tiny and the amount of fluid around it means that you won't feel a thing yet. I'm stick thin and I didn't feel DD until 15/16 weeks which is considered really early. I've got so much damn wind in me at the mo though, it does feel like something, but it's not.

Postal delays mean that I've not got my appt for my 12 week scan yet - can't wait to see babyblob!

bobsmum · 09/10/2007 09:10

JackBlack - thinking of you and your family . Just do what ever you need to do to keep going. aFAIK a doctor's note is only neede if you've been off work for more than 5 days consecutively, otherwise you can be trusted to be telling the truth IYSWIM. But it would be worth giving your surgery a ring just to be sure.

Duchess - this one's the worse of my other pregnancies too. Dh looked at me all forlorn last night and said with big puppy eyes "I just want the real dw back" Me too! He's being great though - making me go to bed early and doing loads round the house.

Definitely beginning to feel a little better - I've managed a couple of cups of tea over the last 2 days having been sick at the smell of it until now.

Hayley - just to say, I felt both my beans at 15/6 weeks which is very very early according to the experts. Most mums can feel movement by 20+ weeks though - won't be long and then you'll be desperate to get to sleep without an elbow poking out of your bellybutton

bobsmum · 09/10/2007 09:11

Snap blobsmummy

blobsmummy · 09/10/2007 09:12

Spooky!!

Mitchell81 · 09/10/2007 09:13

Sorry JackBlackRoady, hope your mom makes a quick recovery and that you start feeling better soon. Can't imagine going to work feeling like this, I can hardly manage leaving the house. Starting to be sick 3 and 4 times a day, do the meds the docs give actually stop you being sick and feeling nauseas?
Can't cope with another 6 weeks of this, last time it lasted till 16 weeks, but I wasn't actually sick all the time, maybe this time its a girl?

Mitchell81 · 09/10/2007 09:17

Blobsmummy, they phoned with my scan date, so lucky to be not waiting on this postal strike. my scan s 24th, so yours should be the week before sometime.

jacobandTheMummylysette · 09/10/2007 10:09

hayley i'm sith the others too i'm afraid - it's amazing the amount of gas pg can make you produce

wrote a massive post but lost it yesterday - probably no bad thing msot of it was just rambling!

hello everyone new.

my scan is next monday - can't wait as i'm now paranoid that something is wrong (was just like this with ds). At least my sickness seems to have passed - sorry everyone still suffering. although im' still on a carbs only diet mostly! baked potatoes are def the way forward, that or toast.

anyway, i have nothing of any interest to say, jsut keep your chins up everyone whos still feeling really sick, and hopefully it'll get better soon

xxx

bobsmum · 09/10/2007 10:11

at everyone getting scan dates. Will phone my m/w if I've not heard anything soon - bet she forgot to book me in....
