Hi mrsstresshead and welcome! A lot of people on here are suffering with nausea and sickness so we are all able to sympathise.

I am in the Manchester area too, which nhs hospital will you be going to? I'm going to Wythenshawe.

magicfairy · 29/09/2007 10:30

Hi, just found out I can join this thread! , DS has just turned one and this one was planned but not, iykwim, we didnt think it would happen so quickly, feel v lucky. Think i am due on 17th May, but my periods have always been longer than the norm so never sure how to work it out.
Its a nightmare trying not to tell anyone, thankgod for mumsnet!! We were living overseas last time so easier not to tell frends and family!
Feeling very sicky for most of the day and getting tired super quick especially chasing after the newly walking DS! Also the dreaded heartburn has started already, esp when going to bed, i have already got an extra pillow and Im only 7 weeks!

JackBlackRoady · 29/09/2007 13:22

Hello magicfairy and mrsstresshead and Congratulations! I've added you both to the list at the bottom of this post. Apologies if anyone is missed off, how does that happen?

Macaco - really sorry to read you are feeling so poorly. Have you tried acupressure or maybe even acupuncture? I have a friend who swears by pressure points and it worked for her in pregnancy. (Didn't mumofk say on this thread she was going to have acupuncture?) Just a thought anyway. I hope it passes for you soon xxx

IndigoBlue - that's great you are booked in for a scan. It was reassuring when I saw the heartbeat, even though the baby was just an indistinct oval!

Starlight - any news on your scan? Did you ring the hospital?

Ok I must go do some work now, see you all soon and, remind me, when does this bleeping sickness pass?

Hi everyone. I have been so ill this week. I must have picked up a bug, but I've been so stressed about one thing and another and when I went to the doctors they said my blood pressure was ridiculously high and I need to chill out.. so now I'm stressing about not being able to chill out!!!! It's awful. Does any1 else have it? Will the baby be ok?

Chuffed- I'm so jealous!!! fantastic news!! i was convinced that would happen to me but there's just 1.

StarlightMckenzie- I had bad pains and that's why they scanned me. If you go up to ante-natal in the mornings complaining about pains they'll scan you. Mine were pretty bad but they seem to be subsiding a little now. I'm concerned as I seem to have period pain and I would have been due on 2nd October, but I'm hoping the cramps will pass. My next scan is at 12 weeks.

I've just started a new job(my 2nd job- keeping two on to make sum extra cash for babba) and my employer has told my other employer that I am pregnant!!!! they havn't even done my risk assessment and they put me under stress all the time in silly little ways. I'm really upset about it. They gave me a bad overall reference and I feel terrible about it all.

Kanga44 · 29/09/2007 22:50

Well Im 7 weeks pg today and due for my next scan on Tuesday fingers crossed (to the person who asked why are we having all these scans....I bled heavily...have a sac with a heartbeat and an empty sac and I bled with my daughter 3 years ago)
Sickness is still here but completely opposite of when I was pg last time...in that I actually feel better when I eat???!!!!
Had this sudden urge to eat boiled potatoes and batchelors chicken supernoodles!!! It was heaven!!
I have a bump but think its more that im not holding in my last pg belly flab hahaha
hope everyones doing well.....still chucking that baby glue around! x

bobsmum · 29/09/2007 23:26

Police aren't going to charge me AFAIK. I left loads of messages with the station after hearing nothing for days and they eventually phoned and said they didn't want to stress me out anymore than I already was because I was pregant.

The car has officially been written off and the insurance company have offered us way below what it's worth so we're going to argue our side on this one. We won't be able to replace it if they don't give us what it's actually worth.

I'm now at 9 weeks which is when I lost our first bean before ds. I hate this time when I'm paranoid that every symptom is lessening and that it's all gone wrong. Could be weeks yet until I hear about a scan though

Hi, sorry been absent for a bit-busy feeling so sick and miserable not getting online v. often. I've been for acupuncture- not sure it has helped yet but I'm going back next week.I've got ear seeds to press on when I feel bad, but feels like I've got bruises already and not much different, yet. Maybe it'll take some time? Had it Friday am - felt rubbish pm and Sat am so went to my last resort- cyclizine (50 mg a day if anyone is ready to ask a dr for it!!).
A friendly dr saw how miserable I was at work and gave me a prescription (typically, I was having a really GOOD day and v.depressed to be told how rough I was!) got it 'just in case' and took some yesterday am. Can't help worrying about taking drugs, but I looked it up in the BNF (british national formulary if anyone has drugs to look up) online and it seems safe, and of course it is what is usually prescribed without any problems, but I'd rather not need it. And the plus- it didn't work right away but I actually felt normal yesterday afternoon and evening- wow!!
Everyone with aches and pains, spotting, bleeding, previous sad outcomes, or car accidents (so glad you sound in one peice, bobsmum, and don't need to worry about the police too) meet our local (and probably similar to elsewhere) criteria for an EPAU scan if you can say you are over 7 weeks -TIP if its 3 weeks since a positive pregnancy test you sound AT LEAST 7 weeks . GP's can refer you for a scan, A&E can (GO THERE if you've got spotting, you might get a scan a little sooner) and most midwives can too. You might have to wait a few days, but you might get seen sooner.
Welcome to everyone who's joined us!
And (sorry, stuggling with finding particular messages to reply to) to everyone who's joined me with the heartburn too- sympathies hopefully it can't last till May?!
Good luck all, mumofk

Aquababe, I'm very sorry to hear this sad news. I hope you are feeling as ok as you can do at this time. Thinking of you and wishing you the best for the future. x

goodcatholicgirl · 30/09/2007 15:35

aquababe - so sorry to hear your news

I've just come back from 2 weeks in Cornwall holiday. V nice, in a way, nice to spend 2 weeks of this 'rough' 2 weeks being able to totally chill and not worry about work, housework, seeing people etc. On the other hand, bit pants to be feeling ropey all holiday, not be able to drink etc! I normally LOVE my food, but I have been nauseaous and generally not v hungry. When I do eat I have a small appetite. Quite frustrating!! However, I WILL NOT moan as I feel extremely lucky to be pregnant. Having suffered a mc myself 3 years ago, I don't really like to ever moan about pgy symptoms. I know how many people are out there desperate to be pg who would just love to feel sick all day if it meant they were pg. So I'll shut up!!

Hope you are all well. Haven't had chance to read through the thread yet to see what I've missed.

I'm 9 weeks Monday (tomoz). Got my first antenatal appt tuesday. Still no scan date.

Keep well all of you xxx

I'm so sorry aquababe. It is so distressing and you were so close to that 3mths now.

podglet · 01/10/2007 11:11

Hi all,

Aquababe, so sorry to hear your news, look after yourself

Sorry not been around but posting on here doesn't feel very real still (!) and as I have pretty much no pg symptoms, it almost feels a bit silly. I get very tired in the evenings now and don't have much of an apetite but I don't have any morning sickness - TBH I wish I did as it would make it seem more real and I wouldn't worry that something was wrong!

I am now 9+2 by my dates but have no scan date yet. Have just been told by the hosp that they have changed the system and I will now see the midwife before my 12 week scan??? They said I will get both appointments through in the post shortly. With DS last year, I had my scan date through really early and then didn't see a midwife til about 14 weeks - am so confused. Thinking about paying for a private scan just to reassure ourselves.

Hope everybody is ok

Hi Starlight (still go to type Bethbe!) - back to work on 5th November, just after DS's birthday on the 1st. Managed to get first week as hols so start being paid on 29th Oct!!! What about you?

You may be right about the hormone levels and I am pleased to have someone else with no symptoms

grinningbee · 01/10/2007 13:51

Good afternoon everyone!

Mind if I join in?

I got my BFP on September 10th. Although it was planned, it was still a bit of a shock, lol.

It's our first, and we think is roughly due on May 12th. I am a bit nervous as I suppose I'll be classed as an old and ancient first time mum (I'll be 37 in a few weeks)and I'm also a little on the overweight side. Funny thing is I was on the SW thread, losing weight to help with ttc. Lost 30 pounds and bingo! Still have quite a bit to go, but I think that can wait now .

I'm exactly 8 weeks today, and apart from incredibly painful boobs, no symptoms other than being tired and having the very occasional sicky feeling.

I did have a bit of a scare, 6 days before the BFP I was rushed into hospital having an anaphylactic shock from an insect bite, and almost didn't come home. Luckily we don't think any of that has affected bean. Isn't it funny the way things turn out! The shock of finding out the good news totally made me forget how scared I was the week before.

It all feels a bit unreal, but I think after the first MW appointment on Thursday it will be a bit more real.

Anyway, sorry for prattling on!

Ta ta for now,
Grinningbee

blobsmummy · 01/10/2007 14:38

Hi all,

Just had my first midwife appt now I'm 9+1 weeks, and my scan is being booked up for 3 weeks time. Feeling a bit yucky - the nausea is worse than actually being sick. Those with no symptoms - don't envy those of us being ill! I did that with DD1 and then was sick everyday until 20weeks, and started up again from 34 weeks - felt an absolute wreck by the time DD turned up. Enjoy feeling well!

Best wishes Aquababe, sorry to hear about the news.
