Hi Westers,

It is my first too! I am going to tell everyone after my scan at 13 weeks. However, DH's parents are planning on coming over the week before that so might tell them then.

Its up to you when you want to tell people. I want to make sure this wee one is sticking around.

WW xx

AussieSim · 23/09/2007 23:02

With telling people I would say only tell the people that it will be ok to 'untell' if anything should happen i.e., you could probably tell your mum and closest friend as they would be a good support people if anything unfortunate did happen. But the lady who works behind the counter at your local corner shop - probably not such a good idea IYSWIM.

Mitchell81 · 24/09/2007 08:56

I have told my parents, sisters and my cousin. And by accident asked a pregnant friend in the playground if she had a 3D scan and she then guessed I was pregnant. My silly big mouth. I would tell people, but last time the pregnancy lasted so long, I don't want to go through that again, so will wait until after the October holidays, when hopefully I would have had my 12 week scan.
But I just want to announce it on Facebook to tell the people, who I am in contact with but never see, but will wait.

Mitchell81 · 24/09/2007 08:57

Aussiesim, where in Australia are you? We are looking into immigrating to Perth.

IndigoBlue · 24/09/2007 09:10

Hi Westers & welcome! There are loads of things that seem scary when you find out you're pregnant but hopefully all of us here will be able to give you support & answer queries.

For various reasons we have told our close family but are waiting til after my 12 week scan to tell everyone else. I feel like people aren't as interested in it because it's my second which makes me feel a bit sad like this one's not as important as dd was - dh told one of his family members on his own and they said congratulations and everything but when I saw them a few days later they didn't even bother to mention it to me.

I'm feeling so tired now as well, I feel exhausted when I go to bed and the same when I wake up!

clairycluck · 24/09/2007 09:23

Hello all! Found out im expecting yesterday am very happy and cant wait to tell everyone! Am 6 weeks today! Due 19th May.
I have dd Eloise who is 2 and a half.
Hope to talk to you all soon.

Congratulations to everyone! XX

Westers · 24/09/2007 14:00

Thanks to people for kind words. I think I'm going to hang on until I've got my head around it until I tell others, and advice on not telling anyone you'd have to 'untell' before 12 weeks sounds just right.

It's right that there's no 'perfect' time. I think I'm beginning to realise that I'm going to have to loosen up on my normal impulse to plan and organise everything down the the last detail!

Hayleyandbaby · 24/09/2007 15:04

Hi every1, my 20 week scan will be due xmas day, does that mean I'll have to wait ages just to get it? Or will they do it early? i can't wait 4 my 12 and 20 week scans. My 6-7 week scan was such a delight and it really reassured us. Loving being pregnant but getting HUGE already and some1 commented yesterday that I'm starting to show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rude i know... I can't possibly show this early can i? I'm troffing like never before tho! there's no filling me up!!

How's every1 else? Any1 got a bump?

xx

aquababe · 24/09/2007 16:30

not so much a bump as a bulge.

told quite a few people over the week end Parents, siblings, best friends. got to remember to hold back again now but it gave me such aa buzz telling people or in my mums case let her work it out when my dd came up and kissed and said hello to my belly.

bobsmum · 24/09/2007 16:39

With ds and dd I didn't show until 12 weeks ish when everything moved up out of the pelvis.

But from then on I was huge! I'm only 5 ft and have above average babies - both 8 1/2 lbs.

Having said that, since ds and dd I've looked 4 months pg anyway, so no-one's going to guess I'm pg by looking at my tum, cos it's such a baby pouch already!

JackBlackRoady · 24/09/2007 19:10

Hi all,
that's good that some of you have said you are excited and want to tell everyone, me too! But also I want to make sure I keep this one so in fact I have only told parents, sister, boss and 2 teachers who share Lab with me besides DH. Haven't told my son yet as he's 12 and I want to be sure, like i want to be with everyone else telling them.
I am not showing anything yet, so i feel like a right fraud whining on about how tired and sick I am! work is rubbish! School trip on Thurs - the place smelled really strong! And lesson today - fought back tears when talking about diseases! Also I can't work out what to eat. Anyone else get stomach ache in the evening when they are tired?
PS - dating scan on Weds, so I will know my date soon
xxx

asicsgirl · 24/09/2007 19:34

JackBlackRoady, I sympathise with your stomach ache. Early evenings are a real low ebb. I was lying on the sofa last night waiting for baked potatoes to be done and groaning that I must have a stomach bug! But eating masses soon sorted me out

Have had two lunches today (!) in the hope that this might stave off the pangs...

Welcome to the new people! Westers, LOL at your need to control everything. I recognise that from somewhere... Don't worry, having a newborn will knock it out of you - it did me!!

sparky77 · 24/09/2007 19:37

Hi all,
Went to doctors today so got an EDD, added my name to list. Jackblackroady totally sympathise i feel really sick and get stomach cramps in the evening too. Been drinking ginger ale - don't think there is any ginger in it but it is making me feel better! We have told out family and close friends but am going to wait until 12 week scan to tell the rest of the world via facebook! Have a good week x

Hello, Can I come in?
Am due May 20th ish, DD1 6m end of this week so this is a bit of a surprise! Ho hum.... Still, am getting used to (and excited about) the idea of DC2 now, and beginning to feel knackered. Good luck to ya'll, hope the little ones cling on.

OMG chuffed - how exciting and scary! Wishing you all the best with it and will eagerly await updates.

Welcome Hobie1.

Mitchell81 - I am in Sydney, but have spent some time in Perth on business over the years. My Best Friend is moving to Perth in January actually so will have an excuse to visit on a more touristy basis.

I am exhausted, so off for a nap before my window of opportunity has closed!

Mitchell81 · 25/09/2007 07:21

hi everyone and welcome all newly pregnant ladies!

chuffed - 3 that's brilliant.

wester - don't worry you can plan and plan and organise! i am a super organising and planning person and satisfied my need to do that by doing a spreadsheet for when we were going to buy everything we needed but it worked out perfectly i nthe end as ds was 8 weeks early!

anyone had this dreadful tummy bug that's been going around? it wiped me out all last week and the weekend - only just feeling kind of normal.

i too am feeling bleurgh in the early evening and glad to see it's not just me on the baked potatoes - it seems to be pretty much all i have eaten for the past couple of weeks although have a girlfriend coming over for dinner tonight and doing spanish meatballs with potatoes (well reheating m&s ones!).

gotta go my free time is up - ds has come to investigate the laptop.....
