Tinkjon · 08/09/2007 17:22

Congrats to Mrs MooMar - argh, another early one, you are all scaring me!!! So glad that Cerys is coming home too, that's great news.

Hayley, not sure why you were told that Cow & Gate will make the baby greedy, that sounds odd! My experience of SMA was that it made my daughter very constipated and, whilst this was obviously personal to her I did hear a lot of other people say the same. We switched to Aptamil first and that was great - I'm going to try b/fing but if we end up on formula again that's what I'll be using.

hayley2u · 08/09/2007 17:34

aptamil? i think i v heard thats good as well cant believe i'm so dis organised. thanks for telling me that about sma it helps when you hear things otherwise the choice is just to big lol

emalushka · 08/09/2007 17:36

Hello all,

Many many congratulations to all that have had their bambinos. I am very jealous! Such lovely names too.
PLP - Let us know how you and Cerys are. Was very worried and emotional about your news. Will everything be okay? Hope so.
Can't wait now. Am frantically drinking RLT, eating pineapple and having lots of sex, but to no avail!
My details on the list have changed. I'm 28 now and my due date is the 18th not the 15th. I'll try change it now. Good luck and best wishes to everyone. It's all so lovely lovely lovely (feeling emotional again!)
xx

I used Aptamil for ds after I stopped bf, it suited him very well, in fact he took to it with no problems at all Will be using it again this time.

hayley2u · 08/09/2007 17:50

can you buy aptimal at the supermarkets?

potoroo · 08/09/2007 17:51

Oh wow! Congratulations to everyone who has already had their babe! Wonderful news - and great names too (we haven't started looking).

Emlou - how's the kitchen going? We've just stripped our's out. DH is cooking on the BBQ and I am washing up in the bathroom. I have spent all afternoon assembling Ikea cabinets and trying to convince the baby that he/she has to stay put for at least another 10 days!

potoroo · 08/09/2007 17:52

Hayley - yup, you can buy Aptimil at the supermarket. I used it with DS when I stopped BF and had no problems.

hayley2u · 08/09/2007 18:14

sound. i was going to ask if i could try bf just for the first time so baby got the first nutrients but i dont want to carry it on just literally wanna give her first bit m/w said should be ok but i'm thinking they ll make me carry on and it may be best if just formula fed from start

potoroo · 08/09/2007 18:22

No they won't make you carry on if you don't want to (at least they didn't at the hospital I was in). I put what I wanted in my birth plan and that was fine.

I think they only got concerned if you wanted to BF and were having trouble.

MrsFish · 08/09/2007 18:43

I am only intending bf this one for the first week whilst dh is around to keep ds occupied, I'm then switching to ff, that is unless it is far easier this time round

MrsFish · 08/09/2007 18:44

Oh and they can't make you do anything, tell them to sod off if they do

hayley2u · 08/09/2007 19:08

thanks think i'm feeling more guiltpushed into bf tbh.

kyala · 08/09/2007 19:20

Ooh more congrats?! Mmoomar, happy baby day!
I've decided I'm not leaving my computer now (as soon as I get home, am currently on IL's comp, checking Ebay sales ) You lot seem to have your LO's when I'm not around

Glad to hear Cerys is going home soon

Back later's, was just popping in to see what's going on!

Chattyhan · 08/09/2007 19:28

We need a new thread before we run out of room! A couple of people had suggestions for names? What are we deciding? i'm happy to set it up and link if you want...

MrsFish · 08/09/2007 20:12

How about we go with HIWBB's suggestion...

'Due Sept 07...The first thing I will do is....... eat Brie, Parma Ham, drink wine and anything else banned... then, I will tie MY OWN shoelaces!'

emj23 · 08/09/2007 20:16

Yep, I like that. For some reason I'm not having that many problems with shoes, but putting socks on is becoming quite a challenge. Also, one of my feet keeps swelling up in the evening. I've no idea why it's just one.

Anyway, good thread title!

MrsFish · 08/09/2007 20:26

I'll do it now then as we are getting close

MrsFish · 08/09/2007 20:31

OK, I have posted a new thread, here it is

I think someone mentioned putting it into the post natal section, but I thought we could keep it here till we have all popped and then start a new one as and when in the other section

kelmcd · 09/09/2007 07:57

good morning all
another baby makes his way into the world

Just to let you all know: Baby Arben made his appearance on Thursday 7th Sept @ 05:02 by Ventouse Weight 3.336kg/7lbs 5oz
All went well, thank goodness for epidurals
We are both home and doing well

Rach35 · 26/09/2007 17:28

Hi - just getting back to some sense of normality - but Verity Sarah Caitlin (middle names after her aunties) arrived on her due date - 5th Sept, 7lbs 7oz at 2.12pm. All safe and sound - steep learning curve (especially when trying to learn French too!) but got 6hrs straight sleep the other night so feel elated! Love epidurals too!

kinki · 30/09/2007 18:17

Hi Rach, and congratulations. Pretty names! Are you in France? Good luck with learning french, don't envy you with that one.

Join us on this ante-natal thread which is more current, or this post-natal thread. Things are a bit quiet lately because we're all busy with lo's or towards the end of long pregnancies.
