Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

@Chlosavxox @Missdrifter I expect lots would tell us not to do the early scans but I feel like I have to! I know it only tells you what's going on at that minute, but it will help me carry on a bit longer.

@Missdrifter did you have to pay a deposit? I haven't booked yet because I'm scared I will jinx myself 😫

Missdrifter · 21/11/2019 19:59

@EnglishRain I had to pay £30 for a deposit, it’s £85 in total. I booked early because we were limited on when we could go around the 7 week mark. 2 weeks today if all goes to plan 😬

amysara24 · 21/11/2019 20:23

@missdrifter hi, I’m ok! Still a bit nauseous but nothing major. I haven’t booked an early scan yet as my first midwife appointment is 6/12 so I thought I would see how that goes first! I’m still tempted though!
How have you been??

Missdrifter · 21/11/2019 20:26

@amysara24 pleased you are doing ok. I feel fine to be honest a bit tired and nipples are a bit sore but that’s it. The wait is so hard isn’t it. I don’t know how people make it to the 12 weeks before any reassurance, I wish I could be more relaxed

amysara24 · 21/11/2019 20:40

@missdrifter I know exactly what you mean, I’m desperate for something concrete to show me everything is ok! I have a friend who didn’t know she was pregnant until 24 weeks and I can’t imagine how she did it!
I’m hoping that with Christmas coming the weeks will go by quite quickly.. probably be the opposite though!!

EnglishRain · 21/11/2019 20:41

I've just been sick Sad felt nauseous on and off for a few days, and felt quite quickly unwell when out for breakfast this morning, but not actually been sick until now...is it normal this early?!

amysara24 · 21/11/2019 20:47

@EnglishRain I think it’s totally normal - I’ve read that some women have nausea and sickness before they even get a bfp! I find it worse through the night than the day (which is good for helping keep a secret but bad for my sleep!!)

EnglishRain · 21/11/2019 20:54

@amysara24 that sounds horrid! I seem to get it first and last thing. Hoping this doesn't become a regular thing!

ninemonthwait · 21/11/2019 20:55

@Missdrifter mine is also on 5th December when I will be 7+1

OP posts:
Missdrifter · 21/11/2019 21:05

@EnglishRain I think that is totally normal. All of a sudden I have started to feel very sick and have a very watery mouth.

@ninemonthwait oh that’s exciting, hopefully it will all go well for us both

LittleMrsMama · 21/11/2019 21:41

I'm having my early scan in a week and a bit when I'm 6+6. I couldn't wait any longer than that without knowing that there's a heartbeat or at least something there. I'm trying to prepare myself that i might not see much this early though.

I've also been having sickness. It's in the morning and evenings and the majority of times I go to be sick but nothing really comes up. I'd say once every few days I'm actually sick. Apparently this is all really normal and nothing to worry about (easier said than done!) I've read that keeping crackers by your bed for the mornings helped so trying that tonight.

So pleased to have this group! I'm telling my two best friends tomorrow. It's so early but can't go on for any longer without their support. Thinking of telling family at Christmas when I'm 10+2. Slightly early but it's such a special time

mywrencalls · 21/11/2019 23:23

Hello all, hope it's ok to join! I'm 37, currently around 4 weeks 2 days. Had a positive test last Sunday.

This will be my second baby. My first is 20 years old Grin so I'm feeling like a first time mum all over again!

Kiki275 · 22/11/2019 07:50

@mywrencalls congratulations! That might be a big gap but a perfect age for babysitting 😆 x

amysara24 · 22/11/2019 18:06

How are we all this evening ladies?
I had a panicky day, I didn’t feel any “symptoms” all day and then had some sharp pain. But I did a digital this evening and got my 3+ weeks - woohoo! Feel like I’m on to the next stage now. I hope you’ve all had a good day, and have nice weekends ahead!

Mimi91 · 22/11/2019 18:30

I'm having a mare today. My close friends all want to go clubbing, I've said to go on without me because I can't afford it and now they're all offering to pitch in for drinks 🙈 every excuse I come up with, they have an answer for and I'm worried they're going to get suspicious. The peer pressure!!

Also my friend has a hen do when I'll be 6 months pregnant, I want to pull out as all the activities will be drinking and dancing, but does that make me the worst friend?! I also don't want to spend £200 when I won't be able to join in with any activities.

The dilemmas!

Kiki275 · 22/11/2019 18:51

@Mimi91 still go on the hen-do, refusing are this point will raise more questions. You should still be able to join in a lot of commerarderie, even if you have to forfeit some activities. (Plus I'd get massive FOMO 😆)x

loumc90 · 22/11/2019 18:52

@amysara24 I've been the same with not really having any symptoms but then woke up this morning and just feel awful?? Like just generally awful but no particular symptom if that makes sense! Hard to describe haha, congrats on your 3+! These first 12 weeks are going to be soooo long!

amysara24 · 22/11/2019 18:55

@Mimi91 oh dear that’s a bit of a pain! You could always say your dp has planned something nice for this evening so you don’t want to let him down?
The hen do is a difficult one too, it’s awfully expensive if you can’t really enjoy the weekend! I guess you could discuss it when you’re farther along and see what the hen thinks.. I know if it happened before mine with any friends I would totally understand! Hopefully she will be totally fine with it too.

amysara24 · 22/11/2019 18:58

@loumc90 aren’t they, I thought the 2ww was hard but these 12 weeks are just dragging by!
I’ve felt nauseous every day for the past 10 days or so but wasn’t too bad today - until I just tried to eat my dinner (the first thing I’ve had all day!) and it has made me feel a bit queasy! Never thought I’d be wanting to be sick so much haha

Hollielouise · 22/11/2019 19:00

Hello! Congratulations! Would it be ok to join? I am 14dpo and got my (very faint) BFP last Sunday - followed by a much darker one today! Due around 31st July I think. Trying not to worry but 12 weeks seems so far away for a scan....!

Mimi91 · 22/11/2019 19:19

@Kiki275 I always get such bad FOMO 😂

@amysara24 Its a good idea, but they had a few different dates in mind. I've ended up just saying yes and will have to just say on the night I'm not drinking because I'm under the weather. I hate lying to my friends 😩

I've just read your other post, I've had sharp pains too, but it's not a localised pain so not too worried at the moment. Bet it was nice to see the 3+ weeks Grin

mywrencalls · 22/11/2019 19:31

@hollielouise I'm in the same boat as you! Faint positive last Sunday - but got a 2-3 weeks on a clear blue digital today so I'm guessing I'm around 4 weeks 3 or 4 days.

12 weeks seems like forever away Shock

Have you got any symptoms? I'm doing fine so far. Dreading the onset of nausea Sad

Dav87 · 22/11/2019 20:25

Hi everyone - congratulations to you all on your BFPs! I got mine 2 days ago - did 3 tests straight after each other as I didn’t believe it!
I was 14DPO then so only 4weeks at the moment, still really early days so feeling really anxious and Googling every symptom! This is my first pregnancy.

Had quite a few cramps over the last few days as if AF is coming, but think that’s quite normal?

When you talk about having early scans, are the weeks you’re referring to since LMP, or since conception please? I get so confused!

X

amysara24 · 22/11/2019 20:29

@Hollielouise @dav87 congratulations to you both and welcome!!
Weeks since last period usually (as that’s how the dr/midwife will count it).
This is my first pregnancy too so I’m so glad to have you all!

Hollielouise · 22/11/2019 21:23

@mywrencalls Similar timing! Congratulations! 💐 I've had slight nausea in the mornings but as soon as I eat it subsided so just trying to snack as much as I can. Had a few twitching/pinching pains but I think that's normal as things settle in. Have you had any cramping?
