Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

@LucyLucyT well done for getting to the gym! I was a three times a week girl before this and now I just can't get myself there!

@zeeeex so glad it went well! 😊😊😊 I'm really nervous about telling our parents, eek! I know they will all be super shocked!
Oh my life yes!! I find if I'm busy I'm ok but when I think about being hungry I need to eat within minutes!! Like I'll die on the spot if I don't get food immediately! Hubby is finding it really funny but also being super accommodating! 💕

@HairsprayBabe glad you're doing a bit better x

@LillyLeaf I thought the same about nausea but mines not going away. It's bad in the evenings lately. I'm 11+1.

I find the food aversions really weird. OH said sausage the other day and I gagged! So weird! So we opted for bacon butties instead!!

zeeeex · 08/01/2020 12:49

Okay so maybe I take back what I said about ALL of my family taking it well.. sister is on the text saying she is angry I didn't tell her we were TTC and cant seem to appreciate that we told absolutely no one until we knew it actually could / would happen, considering factors such as infertility. It was nothing personal. She is basically hinting that she thinks I've fallen pregnant by mistake.

zeeeex · 08/01/2020 12:51

@squirrelnutkins1 Haha I literally just posted to this thread... maybe not everyone is as chuffed as they made out last night.

They will be delighted I am sure. When are you planning to tell them? xx

squirrelnutkins1 · 08/01/2020 13:01

@zeeeex ahhh man what is it with this must know first business?!??!?!
My MIL was exactly like that when SIL announced her pregnancy. She totally spoilt the evening. This is one of the many reasons why we're very low contact with them so I'm extra nervous telling them!
My mum will be over the moon tho I'm sure!
At some point after 12 week scan, so any time after next Thursday, eek.

Sorry she's putting a dampener on it for you 🙄🙄🙄

zeeeex · 08/01/2020 13:06

@squirrelnutkins1 It really has put a dampener on it! I feel disappointed. I told myself to expect mixed reactions but I didn't expect it to stem from her not being told before we knew we were pregnant! Just selfish.

You'll be glad once it's over haha, although I'm sure they will be delighted ♥️. It's an added stress that we could really go without!! Asked my partner if I was allowed to just text everyone to tell them and turn my phone off.

Can't wait to hear how your 12 week scan goes!!! X

squirrelnutkins1 · 08/01/2020 13:09

@zeeeex It really is. Hopefully she'll lighten up and get over it soon!!
Haha I like the idea of just texting and then phone off 🤣 might suggest it to DH!
They will be thrilled for sure... they just need to start being nice to us and then we can all have a relationship.
I'm excited for it. It's starting to feel more real and the anxiety is decreasing so here's hoping 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

EnglishRain · 08/01/2020 14:51

Got my NIPT results, everything low probability! Also found out what we are having. Elated to say it's a girl 💕 hoping scan goes well Friday, I will opt out of the screening now I think.

squirrelnutkins1 · 08/01/2020 14:52

@EnglishRain yay great news 🥳🥳🥳

LillyLeaf · 08/01/2020 18:15

I don't have many food aversions, maybe a few things I don't fancy, but there is one thing that freaks me out. I'm veggie and I sometimes eat a fake meat style burger, but the thought of that makes me feel sick, so weird.

@zeeeex wow that's really strange behaviour by your sister, people generally don't announce to world they are currently having unprotected sex. Is she now going to inform you about her sex life?

I'm sure everyone will be very pleased for us, but if anyone says 'it's about time' I might headbutt them (no one knows about the 2.5 years TTC, infertility, MCs).

@EnglishRain that's fantastic news, and a girl, so lovely. I have a feeling mines a boy, no reason why.

EnglishRain · 08/01/2020 19:00

Thanks @squirrelnutkins1 and @LillyLeaf

@LillyLeaf I was convinced this was a boy too! At my first scan I was like it's a boy. I can tell it's a boy. Guess not Blush

Southy84 · 08/01/2020 19:28

That’s brilliant news on your nipt results and congrats on finding out you’re having a little girl @EnglishRain 🥰

@zeeeex I’m sure your sister will get past this- it’s a little unfair to make it about her, and I wouldn’t ever tell anyone I was trying for a baby- it just makes people watch closely and analyse everything you do, way too much pressure (I understand that some people like to talk about it but I would just get stressed out with people watching a waiting for an announcement that with my first DC took years)

So this morning I woke up with stomach cramps and went to the toilet and when I wiped it was pink, I’m so worried, still have cramps low down. No more pink/bleeding literally just that once. Should be 11+1 today. I have cracked and booked a scan for Saturday as I just can’t wait for the 12 week scan especially if something is wrong. Sorry for being on a downer, just needed to write it down as haven’t spoken to anyone about it apart from DH. I had spotting for a couple of weeks early on and saw a tiny baby with a heartbeat but that was pretty much a month ago now. I just hate not knowing what is going on! I did phone the epu and they didn’t seem concerned and think it’s more than likely from cervix, it’s the cramps that are worrying me now 😔 hoping it’s stretching pains and from previous 2 csections as it seems to be along the scar.

pottypotamus · 08/01/2020 19:40

@Southy84
I'm 11+4 and also getting cramps and quite sharp pains in the lower abdomen. I've been a bit worried too. Also hoping they are stretching pains! My lower belly is sticking out a lot more now but can't tell if it's bump or just me having put on about 4kg! Blush

Southy84 · 08/01/2020 20:04

I honestly thought I’d be worrying less being baby no.3 but having had one mmc and one I believe chemical pregnancy I am a bag of nerves! And I swear I can’t remember so many things from early pregnancy even though my youngest is only 2.

I think it must be stretching @pottypotamus when is your 12 week scan scheduled for? Hopefully you don’t have too long to wait now. Oh and I look about 5 months pregnant, I’m literally huge 😳 I’m blaming Christmas.... so don’t worry you aren’t alone on that either 🙈x

ninemonthwait · 08/01/2020 20:30

@zeeeex it is such a shame that people react badly to happy news. We are telling friends this weekend after our scan on Friday but they will all be expecting the news I think.

@EnglishRain how exciting a little baby girl! So amazing that you can find out so early! I don't think we are going to find out until really late on but not sure I will be able to resist!

Planning to tell work soon too which will make it all very real I think! A bit nervous about it as they are in a bit of a bad place with lack of staff already but not much I can do about that! Anyone else on countdown to Mat Leave!?

HairsprayBabe · 08/01/2020 23:50

Just found out DH can't come to my 12 week scan his work are being really difficult about it.
Saying they require 6 weeks notice for any baby related appts. Even though there are two women who are pregnant in his team and they haven't been told any such just nonsense. (DH asked them for advice after his leave request was denied) can't take AL or unpaid as his boss will single him out more. Grrrr

squirrelnutkins1 · 09/01/2020 07:40

@HairsprayBabe how ridiculous!!!!! You don't always even get six weeks notice for you 12 week scan! Or any scan! Can he check the policies or get advice from hr?

amysara24 · 09/01/2020 08:37

@HairsprayBabe I would definitely tell him to check out the policy. I’m fairly sure they can’t refuse to give you leave for medical appointments - they can only refuse paid leave and give you it unpaid. The 6 weeks thing is nonsense, will that apply if you go into labour while he’s at work too??
If he can’t find it in policy writing somewhere I would be checking that out with HR or a union depending on what he does. My scan is Monday, I submitted the leave form on Monday just past (I’m a teacher so was off for 2 weeks when I got the appointment) and it was ok’d by Tuesday. Also on Tuesday when I got the midwife’s call at lunch, my work sent me straight to the hospital and DH was told to go straight away to go with me.. I think your DH work are being totally unreasonable and possibly even unlawful...

LucyLucyT · 09/01/2020 11:54

@EnglishRain congratulations on your results! How exciting for you x

@HairsprayBabe see this govt. link that's states father's have the right to unpaid time off for two antenatal appointments
www.gov.uk/government/news/new-right-for-fathers-and-partners-to-attend-antenatal-appointments

ninemonthwait · 09/01/2020 18:12

@HairsprayBabe hope he can get it sorted! That sounds terrible, you can't plan for appointments that far in advance!

@Missdrifter hope your scan goes well tomorrow. What time do you have it? X

Missdrifter · 09/01/2020 18:19

Thank you @ninemonthwait it’s first thing in the morning (but I have booked the whole day off work) I feel so anxious but also very excited because if it all goes well we will be telling my parents tomorrow night 😊.

amysara24 · 09/01/2020 19:05

@missdrifter that’s so exciting - good luck!! I hope it goes well and you get to see a lovely clear picture.

Following on from my silver cross pram bargain, I’ve just got a matching car seat (my local mothercare is closing on Saturday - not sure if they’re all the same) for how much? Thirty two bloody pounds. £32. I’m so chuffed 😂😂

Missdrifter · 09/01/2020 19:16

@amysara that’s so good. If it all goes well tomorrow I might go to my nearest mothercare and check out the bargains before they all close.

Has anyone else got a bump yet? I am already showing (unless I have put on loads of weight) also like my partner keeps commenting that nipples are getting bigger, haha!

ninemonthwait · 09/01/2020 19:23

@Missdrifter mine too but then I have to go to work! How exciting telling your parents! We had lots of happy tears after telling ours. We are seeing friends at the weekend all going well to share the news with them!

@amysara24 that is such a good bargain!!

OP posts:
Missdrifter · 09/01/2020 19:42

Ohh good luck for yours too @ninemonthwait, I am so pleased it’s first thing so don’t have to worry all day. How are you feeling about yours?

ninemonthwait · 09/01/2020 19:48

@Missdrifter mostly excited but anxious something has happened in the last 3 weeks now we have let some people know. Really hope all being well after tomorrow will finally be the day we can let go of the anxiety!
