Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

@hermionelodge thank you! The first trimester is definitely stressful! Chances are everything will be okay, keep us updated! I've had a lot of back pain too and shooting pains in my abdomen, but it's all normal at this stage.

@Missdrifter I've heard the morning sickness starts to tail off at this stage, tbh I find the aversion to all food much worse, I want to like food again 😭. I'm sure it'll all still be okay, it's really good news you saw a HB at 10+4. I caved and bought a cute little outfit and also found a perfect lampshade from Mothercare to go in the nursery, can't resist bargains (and baby things)!

amysara24 · 06/01/2020 19:57

Hi ladies! It’s so exciting that scans are starting now - how crazy that it’s about 8/9 weeks since we had our bfp!!
So today at work I fell off a chair (no idea how) and now I’m terrified something is wrong. I think I’m being paranoid, as I was having stretch pains in my sides anyway before hand but now they’re making me so nervous.
Our scan is next Monday so only 6 days to go - hopefully I’ll be able to calm down a bit by then and fingers crossed all will be ok...
Is anyone else seriously exhausted all the time? I was back to work today for the first day since 20/12 and really struggled - fell asleep on the sofa there for a while! I think I am partly using sleep to avoid the nausea too, but it’s not going to be sustainable for long at work.

mywrencalls · 06/01/2020 20:05

@amysara24 I fell over walking the dogs the other day (slippery mud) made me a bit paranoid but seems ok. I imagine you're fine too but it is worrying. And rather annoying since I never ever fall over, and I'm guessing you don't fall off chairs often either. It's so typical!

My scan is next Thursday, will be my first scan this pregnancy so excited but nervous Smile

I'm definitely exhausted today, haven't been too bad up until now, but the last few days I've been wiped out. My nausea is not awful but the food aversions are terrible. I get sick if I get hungry, yet I literally can't think of ANYTHING to eat. So it's a gross cycle of nausea, hunger and tiredness.
I have this constant yucky feeling that I only get respite from in the mornings. Once it's 4pm, I start feeling crappy.

Roll on week 13

amysara24 · 06/01/2020 20:13

@mywrencalls nope I don’t! It’s so frustrating! I’m hoping since I landed on my well padded rear that I’m worried for nothing. That’s so exciting - not long to wait at all!
I slept about 14-16 hours a day for the past 2 weeks, sometimes with an extra nap in the afternoon, it’s totally ridiculous! Thankfully DH has been so good about it and done more than his fair share of the housework!
My fertility clinic scan dated me farther on than I thought which would make me 12 weeks tomorrow though I reckon it’ll change again on Monday, but I’m really hoping it brings with it an end to these symptoms!! I’m so glad I’m not the only one still having worries / falling / sleeping all the time!

hermionelodge · 06/01/2020 20:46

@amysara24 I wouldn't worry too much. I slipped walking the dog a a few weeks ago and landed with a huge thump on my bum. I was so panicky but I done lots of googling and everything assures the baby is so well protected in there, especially at this stage when they are so low down. I had a scan about a week later (follow up scan from previous, not related to the fall) and everything was totally fine, baby had a nice strong heartbeat.

pottypotamus · 07/01/2020 13:04

@amysara24 sorry to hear about your fall. Baby will be very nicely protected so don't worry.
I was exhausted all the time but I've weirdly woken up today with lots of energy and feeling on top of the world. My nausea has gone totally too!

So while I should be happy about this, I'm now crapping my pants that it means something is wrong! I am 11+3 today and have my scan next weds. Anybody else's symptoms vanished overnight?

squirrelnutkins1 · 07/01/2020 13:30

Ive had that before. Just enjoy it.... I'm sure the symptoms will be back with a vengeance soon!

LillyLeaf · 07/01/2020 13:37

I had symptoms vanish but today I felt awful and sick, I could barely brush my teeth without retching. Tired and I have a headache too but felt great a few days ago. There's no understanding it.

amysara24 · 07/01/2020 14:44

I’m glad I’m not the only one. So I spoke to my midwife this morning and she told me to phone the maternity triage. I phoned them just after lunch and they want to see me ASAP for bloods/tests to make sure all is ok.
I’m just picking up DH now then we’re going straight to the hospital. I’m so anxious I keep tearing up but trying to convince myself they’re just being cautious 🤞🏽 I think because my blood is negative and I’ve not had any anti-d yet they’re being extra careful.. hopefully anyway...

LucyLucyT · 07/01/2020 16:27

Good luck @amysara24 in sure it'll be okay but in pleased they are checking you over carefully

Missdrifter · 07/01/2020 17:15

Good luck @amysara24 I am sure all will be ok but it’s good that they are being cautious x

amysara24 · 07/01/2020 18:59

Thanks ladies. Was there for ages and ended up being checked over by a consultant dr. They did a urine sample and there was blood but on internal exam there was no sign of active bleeding, and my cervix was in the right place and firmly closed. They weren’t concerned and said everything was as it should be - blood could possibly be a mild uti though I had no other symptoms. They were all so so lovely, I feel much better for having gone to be safe!

mywrencalls · 07/01/2020 19:27

@amysara24 So glad to hear all is well, and it's great that they were so efficient in seeing you asap.

My symptoms did wane last week but the nausea seemed to be getting worse in the last few days. Had a Doctors appointment earlier relating to something non-pregnancy, but when I mentioned the nausea she prescribed me Buccastem. I tried onethis afternoon and have felt almost nornal again.
Not sure I'll continue taking them since I'm hoping I'm nearing the end of it anyway, but my goodness, it feels so good to feel almost normal and to be able to eat and drink normally Shock

squirrelnutkins1 · 07/01/2020 20:43

@amysara24 so glad all is well. Nice to have a thorough hospital 😊

@zeeeex how did it go??

LucyLucyT · 07/01/2020 20:57

Pleased to hear it @amysara24!

I went to the gym for the first time in ages tonight, certainly not working at the level I was previously and it was hard work still but pleased I got back. Hoping if I try and go a couple of times a week along with some swimming I'll keep a relative level of fitness going.

zeeeex · 07/01/2020 22:51

@squirrelnutkins1 Hey! So we ended up doing it tonight... partners folks and his sister/BIL were absolutely delighted!! My parents and my sister were shocked but delighted too! Huge weight off my shoulder. Keeping it between close family until we have our NHS scan. Xx

HairsprayBabe · 08/01/2020 00:45

Hello all, I meant to join in weeks ago but kept getting distracted hope you don't mind if I shoehorn myself in now!

I am 11+5 with second pregnancy after an early lost several years ago. This one is a surprise honeymoon baby that we are beyond thrilled about.

Sadly it has not all been plain sailing I have had bad HG from about 3 weeks in been a regular visitor to the EPU. I have just been called back for a second lot of bloods for thyroid monitoring. Womp.

We had a private scan at 8 weeks and everything looked perfect, my dating scan is Monday next week. We told our families on Christmas day and everyone is really excited as it is the first grandchild on my side and only the second on my husband's.

Look forwards to getting to know everyone during this exciting time Smile

HairsprayBabe · 08/01/2020 00:51

Oop forgot to say I am due 24th of July SmileSmile

mywrencalls · 08/01/2020 09:17

@HairsprayBabe How are you?! I saw you on another thread at the start of our pregnancies and then again on the hyperemesis thread. I was wondering how you were doing, you were in such a bad way bless you.
Are you on some meds that are helping now? xx

HairsprayBabe · 08/01/2020 10:06

Hi @mywrencalls I'm on ondansetron now - still feeling incredibly nauseous basically all the time but the vomiting has reduced dramatically thankfully. I ended up in the EPU four times, two over nights with rehydration and two just injections for sickness. I'm just knackered now! Here's to hoping the sickness tails off for me in the next few weeks Sad

I'm trying to read back and see how everyone else is doing and if I recognise any names.

zeeeex · 08/01/2020 10:50

I'm 11+2 and I am ABOLUTELY STARVING constantly!!!! Anyone else?! My stomach thinks my throat has been cut! It's actually painful in my tummy how hungry I am!

mywrencalls · 08/01/2020 11:04

@HairsprayBabe Oh glad to hear you've managed to get a little relief! I suffered with HG in a previous pregnancy and still to this day I remember it like it was yesterday (hell on earth basically) but this pregnancy I've gotten away with just the nausea it seems.
Hope in the coming weeks things continue to get better for you xx

@zeeeex I'm the same, I wake up in the morning and it feels like I haven't eaten for days. Painful hunger pangs! I lost 7lbs between week 6 and 10 but think I've probably put that back on just in the last week Shock haha.

LillyLeaf · 08/01/2020 11:16

I'm not hungry that much but my nausea is worst now at 11+3, why? Shouldn't it be getting better by now?

Mimi91 · 08/01/2020 11:38

I get bad hunger pains too, but still no appetite. Morning sickness has ramped up too (12+1). Looking forward to cravings and enjoying food again!
