Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

Thanks @Missdrifter. I feel a bit achy but no cramps at the moment, wondering if they may come overnight. The bleeding isn't constant at the moment, my unit said to go to a&e if I start to bleed heavily.

Missdrifter · 17/12/2019 22:19

@LucyLucyT I know It’s so hard to think positive but at the moment there is still a chance it could all be ok so hold on to that. Hopefully they will bring your scan forward to tomorrow x

LucyLucyT · 17/12/2019 23:00

Thanks very much all. I'm exhausted so hoping I might get some sleep but know I'll wake up worrying. Will push to be seen tomorrow if I can.

LucyLucyT · 18/12/2019 06:40

Still bleeding, not soaking pads but it still seems like quite a lot every time I wipe, bright or dark red but no obvious clots yet. Feel like I'm getting some mild cramping. Going to ring the unit in a bit and see when I can go over. Hardly slept, so tired now.

Vickiduduu · 18/12/2019 07:03

Will be crossing fingers for you today lucylucyt.

ninemonthwait · 18/12/2019 07:09

@LucyLucyT crossing everything for you that it is nothing to worry about x

Good luck for today @LucyLucyT and hope you manage to get some rest. Got everything crossed for you x

LittleMrsMama · 18/12/2019 07:50

@lucylucyT I'm so sorry to hear the bleeding has worsened. Keeping everything crossed for you and hoping they can bring your scan forward to today for peace of mind. If they can't it might be worth doing it privately if you feel you can't wait the extra day. They're normally around £40 on groupon. Thinking of you!

LucyLucyT · 18/12/2019 08:41

Thanks, rang the unit but they said if I go there they'd still only be able to check my cervix and no slots for scans today. There is a place not too far that I can get a private scan for £70 so going to ring them at 9. Haven't had any bleeding for about 3 hours but just feel like there will be more somehow.

LittleMrsMama · 18/12/2019 08:47

@lucylucyT that's a shame there are no slots for scans today. I'd be doing the same thing re private if I was in your position. It's a lot of money before Christmas but worth it for your peace of mind and sanity, I don't think I could wait until tomorrow. It's good news the bleeding has stopped for now. Keeping everything crossed for you! Xx

LucyLucyT · 18/12/2019 09:36

Booked in for 3:20 this afternoon. I'm lucky to be able to afford the scan, I know it's hard for others. Just had the tiniest bit of brown discharge, sorry for the info which hopefully means it's settling. Keep everything crossed for later. Thanks for the support x

EnglishRain · 18/12/2019 10:11

Hope you get on ok later @LucyLucyT I would do exactly the same in your shoes.

Southy84 · 18/12/2019 10:18

I hope you don’t mind me joining, I’ve been reading a long for a while, I’m due 28th July baby no.3

Just wanted to message in response to LucyLucyT , I’m glad you’ve managed to get a scan for today, I hope everything is ok. I have had on and off spotting now for over a week, I’m now 8 weeks, it does seem to have calmed down but I did initially have cramps and quite a lot when I wiped - dark red/brown varying in amounts over the days. I had a early scan last week and they saw a very tiny baby with a heartbeat but I’m paranoid it seemed a bit too small- they didn’t seem concerned though. I also had some bleeding with my DD, so it can be normal (I know it doesn’t make it any less terrifying). Will be thinking of you this afternoon x

LucyLucyT · 18/12/2019 10:32

Thanks @EnglishRain I'll make sure to update.
That's sweet of you to message @Southy84 sorry to hear you have been having problems as well. It's so worrying when you have no control over a situation. I know they don't generally worry if you measure 4 days either side of what you think you are. I had a scan at 8 weeks as IVF and it was all good then so really hoping things are still okay but trying to prepare myself for bad news as well.

Southy84 · 18/12/2019 10:40

It’s so hard not to worry, I actually had a private scan booked for today, last week I cancelled it as we had the nhs early scan and I didn’t want to spend money when I had been given a scan, now I’m kicking myself and wondering why I cancelled it... I’m glad you’ve managed to get an appointment For today, I will keep everything crossed for you

LucyLucyT · 18/12/2019 11:18

Thanks very much, I hope yours is okay too.
I haven't had more bleeding other than brown spotting since about 5am but feel like I have some period pain at the moment and yummy is gurgling lots. Over thinking it all, I know there is nothing I can do.

LittleMrsMama · 18/12/2019 12:00

Glad to hear you have a scan booked in this afternoon @LucyLucyT and the bleeding has stopped. If you have a hot water bottle you can put it on your tummy of not too hot and it might make you feel a bit better. I didn't think we were allowed hot water bottles but the midwife confirmed it's okay if it doesn't dramatically raise overall body temperature.

Welcome @southy84 ! Sorry to hear you've had some challenges similar to @lucylucyT

Ethellsmum · 18/12/2019 12:48

Hope the scan goes ok @LucyLucyT.
I’ve been for the midwife booking appt. My midwife is lovely and I know of her through my work (and so pleased it’s her) although she is leaving soon.
They took my bloods etc. I’m consultant led - think due to my BMI being high so I’ve got to have the GTT test.
It’s starting to feel a bit more real now. Keeping everything crossed for my scan tomorrow then I think I’ll finally be able to start to enjoy this pregnancy.

LittleMrsMama · 18/12/2019 12:52

Glad to hear your booking in appt went well @Ethellsmum and you got a nice midwife! I bet you can't wait until the scan tomorrow :) can't wait to hear how you get on

Ethellsmum · 18/12/2019 13:00

Thanks @LittleMrsMama. The nausea has now kicked back in 🤢 now I’m home and have a list of things to do before the school run.
I can’t believe how much I am sleeping at the minute also - it’s really not helping me get organised for Xmas.

Kiki275 · 18/12/2019 13:21

@Ethellsmum I need the glucose test too. Last time it was great as I took a pillow in the car and had a nice snooze during the wait. Even better knowing it was on works time 😂.x

squirrelnutkins1 · 18/12/2019 15:17

I've got to have GGT too as lots of diabetes in my fam. Not me so far thank goodness 🙏🏻 but at risk of preg induced diabetes.

@LucyLucyT thinking of you x

LucyLucyT · 18/12/2019 17:23

Hi all, feeling relieved as scan was good, baby is still doing everything and growing at the right speed with a good heartbeat. She couldn't see why I've been bleeding though. Annoyingly I've had more dark red blood since getting home so not quite sure why. Hopefully all will be okay. Still going for my hospital appointment and scan tomorrow so will see what they say.

ninemonthwait · 18/12/2019 17:44

Glad you got to see baby @LucyLucyT hopefully you can get more info about what is causing the bleeding tomorrow.

Southy84 · 18/12/2019 17:49

That’s really good news, so relieved for you. They said the same to me last week, couldn’t see any reason for the bleeding but said it could be cervix but they rather not check as apparently it can be very common and they don’t want to poke it unnecessarily Blush
