Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

@Vickiduduu I'm also 7 weeks tomorrow. The nausea the last couple of days has been horrendous. I felt really poorly with it yesterday. It's worst mid afternoon.

Time really does seem to be going soooo slowly!

Kiki275 · 11/12/2019 11:16

@Vickiduduu I'm 8+2 and like @squirrelnutkins1 it's worse for me later in the day. I just eat... constantly, I'm like a cow grazing continuously. Chewing spearmint gum seems to help me and I've heard peppermint tea can x

JackGordonsMummy · 11/12/2019 11:49

I'm 7+5 today my nausea was terrible week 6 its eased off a bit this week its still there but I can function a little more. Im still totally exausted I really need to Hoover and I can't find the strength currently on the couch with my duvet hoping for a nap.

Eating certainly helps the nausea if you can find something you actually want to eat. I've went off so much food. I'm struggling to find anything I fancy.

2 days till my early scan I'm soo nervous/ exci just want to make sure everything is ok x

EnglishRain · 11/12/2019 12:56

Had my booking appt this morning. Midwife was really nice. I'm being put down as consultant lead because I want a c section (was sexually abused extensively as a child and don't think I can cope with a 'normal' birth). Sounds like there is a lot of support for pregnant women with MH. Much more than for women who are not pregnant, which just seems really unfair. I know why, but yeah Sad

Was quite impressed my carbon monoxide reading was 0, midwife says she's never had a 0 before!

Vickiduduu · 11/12/2019 12:57

@squirrelnutkins and kiki275 Mine is also worst later in the day, late afternoon /early evening. Time is going very slowly, usually at this time of year days go too quickly.

amysara24 · 11/12/2019 14:49

Just had my fertility clinic scan, they measured me as 8+1, which is more than the 7+5 I was expecting to be after my first scan! We got to see the heartbeat again too which was nice, it was a very quick in and out appointment!

squirrelnutkins1 · 11/12/2019 15:55

@amysara24 yay congrats 😊

ninemonthwait · 11/12/2019 16:05

@amysara24 that's great news. My fertility scan was sooo quick I am looking forward to my private scan to spend a bit longer admiring it!

Another one here eating all day Shock it is literally the only thing that stops the nausea. Although first I have to find something I can actually eat.
Every few hours I start feeling sick amd have to graze. I had boiled potato and mayo for breakfast today Confused it was gross and amazing all at the same time

Missdrifter · 11/12/2019 17:18

Congratulations @amysara24 that’s fantastic news. When is your next one? It’s really making me want to book another but don’t know if I should go before or after Christmas. @ninemonthwait do you have many symptoms yet!

Missdrifter · 11/12/2019 17:19

I just went to try and buy some clothes and literally nothing fits, I have gone up a dress size already.. is that normal for 8 weeks?

Ethellsmum · 11/12/2019 17:27

My work clothes are getting tight and I’m nearly 9 weeks. I’m putting it down to the amount of crap I’ve been eating lately but this is my 5th so I’m expecting to show sooner than the others.

ninemonthwait · 11/12/2019 17:53

@Missdrifter still no symptoms other than the constant need for food. How about you? I have attempted shopping too but everything just looked terrible! I am very happy it is jumper season!

OP posts:
Missdrifter · 11/12/2019 17:57

@ninemonthwait the only symptoms I have is bloated (or could just be weight gain) tender boobs which are on and off which worry me and waves of feeling really tired. I am waiting for my partner to come home to see if he agrees with booking another scan. He would rather just wait but it’s 4 weeks until our nhs one.

Missdrifter · 11/12/2019 17:57

I am sooo pleased it’s jumper season too!

Kiki275 · 11/12/2019 18:05

@EnglishRain sounds like you'll be able to approach the birth in a really positive manner. I'm glad you're getting the support. Perhaps the pre-natal MH support directly correlates to PND rates, which arguably is higher priority due to the vulnerability of babies x

amysara24 · 11/12/2019 19:36

Thanks everyone 💗 @Missdrifter my first nhs one is next Friday - feel like I’m having so many at once!
I’m having issues with clothes fitting too! Already been looking at maternity clothes, I think by the time I go back to work in January I’ll need them! And a good maternity bra 🙄
@EnglishRain I’m so sorry to hear you had such a traumatic experience. It’s amazing to hear that they’ve put so much in place to support you in doing things the way you want to!

EnglishRain · 12/12/2019 19:48

Had another scan today, measuring 8+2 which is bang on what I thought. Heart beating away 💕 Looks less like a blob already, can see little buds where the arms and legs will be, and can see the brain developing.

Got a stinking cold still! Hoping it shifts soon. How are you all doing?

hermionelodge · 12/12/2019 20:19

That's fab news @EnglishRain. Must be so reassuring seeing the development. Rubbish about your cold though, so much going about this time of year!

I had my booking in appt yesterday but it was just going through family/medical history. I told her about the brown spotting and my one bleed but she didn't seen too concerned. I have my early scan at epu on Tuesday, so nervous for it. I still have sore boobs and tiredness and over the last two days I've had waves of nausea but passes pretty quickly. I had a really stressful day at work today had quite an intense hour of stress and rushing around and now I have stabby pains all across my stomach... trying to convince myself it's not related and one afternoon of stress can't cause anything bad to happen but my rational seems to have gone out the window since I got my BFP!

LittleMrsMama · 13/12/2019 14:46

Sorry i've not been on here very often but just read through all the chats and lots of exciting milestones for you all!

@englishrain I'm doing okay, had my first appointment for blood tests etc this week and seemed to go okay. Got my first NHS scan in January and really excited for that. We're also having the harmony test done at the same time because it's our first baby and we're very over cautious and want peace of mind either way. How're you doing?

Glad to hear it's not just me that can't squeeze into my clothes! Tops are fine it's jeans that are an issue - I used to live in them! Wondering whether to size up or if it's way too early to buy some maternity jeans? Does anyone know if they come in different stages of pregnancy? I don't need one for a massive bump, just a bit of space around the belly, particularly in the evening as I'm so bloated!

Kiki275 · 13/12/2019 15:59

@LittleMrsMama maternity jeans are annoying this early as I found the bump band bit used to fall down and constantly needed hoicking back up. Maybe buy some normal jeggings (I swear by M&S £15 ones) in a size up. They'll be invaluable after birth, especially after a C-Section, to accommodate the post baby bump. I'm also a huge fan of maxi dresses, especially with a high waist. You can buy from normal ranges and get tonnes of wear out of them. I normally shove one on the minute I get home (bra & knickers optional 😆), so comfy and still decent if you need to open the door to the postman/deliveroo x

EnglishRain · 13/12/2019 17:09

I'm being sick most evenings still so trying to eat early. DH is on his way home with a Chinese now! Am going stir crazy this week, got a horrendous cold and am so bored. Nose is running like a tap. Going out on the horses tomorrow and then a panto, so hoping I get a good night's sleep!

Thanks @hermionelodge I hope your scan goes OK on Tuesday. I've done so much reading on stress and miscarriage and there is literally nothing out there to suggest it contributes, but it's no wonder you're worrying if you had a small bleed. Glad the midwife didn't seem worried either.

@LittleMrsMama are you getting the harmony test done at your NHS appt? I'm toying with it too. Will be 10 weeks xmas week though, so not very practical to get it done then and another scan a week before my NHS one feels like it might feed my anxiety a bit too much!

LittleMrsMama · 13/12/2019 17:23

Thanks for the recommendation @kiki275 I couldn't see any for £15 that are plain black (unless it's a 2 pack?) do you know if they still sell them?

@englishrain I feel your pain with the vomiting. I've been the same. Having very bland meals small and often has really helped, I don't think I could stomach a Chinese but great you're feeling up for it! Soup, popcorn and smoothies have been my best friend. Hopefully you're feeling better soon, not too long left of this trimester but Christmas is going to be a killer! Have you told many people or are you planning to? I think we're roughly as far along as each other (8 1/2 weeks) and one of the worst things with the sickness is having to try and hide it from everyone.

I'm getting the harmony test done at my NHS scan and apparently will get the bill after from the company that runs it after. I hadn't realised they also can work the gender that early too as part of the test.

EnglishRain · 13/12/2019 18:33

@LittleMrsMama that's handy that you can get it done at the same time. Sounds like we are at similar points yes! I've told two friends but that's it. I am off work at the minute as I work in a dysfunctional team and could do with some time out anyway. Then there is pregnancy symptoms on top and this cold, so I think I'm hiding it well so far! Have a feeling the lady I ride with may have an incling as I was very wretchy last week. She was being extra helpful and doing all the crap jobs for me too!
