Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

@missdrifter definitely! I’m sure you will have a similar experience with yours, I can’t wait to hear about it! It does feel like everything is just about making it past the next hurdle at this stage doesn’t it!

hermionelodge · 03/12/2019 20:59

Aww amazing @amysara24! So very exciting seeing it like that!

It was a male who done mine and he basically just explained everything he was going over and said everything looked good, no sign of ectopic and then zoomed in completely on the sac but couldn't see anything. I got a little report home also but his writing was terrible so struggled to make it out. Although the jist of it was one gestational sac and nothing else 🙄

amysara24 · 03/12/2019 21:02

@hermionelodge did you not feel so relieved when they said there was only one sac? I know I did!

hermionelodge · 03/12/2019 21:10

@amysara24 yes for sure! That was definitely one positive to take away from it

hermionelodge · 04/12/2019 07:54

I've been thinking more about only measuring 5+1 and I'm now having serious doubts this is a viable pregnancy. I don't mean to sound stupid but in my mind there's no way i can be a week behind unless it's a mmc.

We only DTD 3 times last month and it was 3 days in a row right around the 2 week after the date AF started, so prime ovulation time. Am I right in thinking that the calculations work right and I really should be 6 weeks?

Lmp was 22nd oct. We dtd 5th 6th and 7th Nov. BFP 23rd nov.

Sorry if this is rambling, I hope it makes sense. I've just been up pretty much all night thinking about it.

amysara24 · 04/12/2019 08:26

@hermionelodge my LMP was 17/10 and I measured 6+4, I think it all depends on the length of your luteal phase.. there are so many factors that could play a part, you may have ovulated a day later than you thought, maybe late implantation or maybe just a slow grower to begin with?
Try not to fixate too much on the negatives though I know it’s easier said than done. There are so many harmless explanations too, let’s hope it’s one of those!

hermionelodge · 04/12/2019 08:38

@amysara24 thanks so much for your reply. It really is just so confusing. I can't wrap my head around it and it's driving me crazy. I wish there was a way I could just know now. There has been more brown on the tissue after going to the bathroom this morning so just causing more concern. If I could switch my brain off for the next 3 week's, that would be ideal 🙄 it's the unknown that's the worst.

Hollielouise · 04/12/2019 08:39

@hermionelodge try not to worry xx I got my first v faint BFP on the 17th nov and I am currently 5+4/5 and had blood tests that suggested I was 5 weeks last week. If you are unsure and worried maybe ask your GP for an HCG blood test? We're you tracking ovulation any way?

hermionelodge · 04/12/2019 09:00

@Hollielouise thanks, I did wonder if I could do that. Is that just a standard GP appt? It can take weeks to get in with my gp which is a mare. Or should I phone the midwife? I came off my pill mid August so I was using femometer app just to track my periods for regularity. We were actively trying so I wasn't closely monitoring. The app says I ovulated the 4th but I don't know how accurate this is. Going by dtd 5th 6th and 7th it seems like it would be right? This fries my brain... I get so confused 😞

Hollielouise · 04/12/2019 09:09

@hermionelodge yes - call your gp and ask for a telephone consultation with your doctor or direct email access. They will have a central email address and then can pass it on. You don't need to see them, you just need a form to go to the hospital and get the blood test.
It's really tricky to tell exactly when you ovulated and then when you conceived/implanted. Sperm also hang around for 3-5 days so your egg may not have released until later and caught them then. Try not to worry. Ask for the HCG to check your levels and then go from there. I only found out I was pregnant a week before you and an 5+4/5 so sounds like the ultrasound is right for you. Are you booked in for another scan?

hermionelodge · 04/12/2019 12:32

@Hollielouise thanks so much for your help. I phoned the doctor but they just told me to go in tomorrow so I have an appt in the morning. Ok that makes me feel better that you are at that stage, my mind is just boggled. I've ended up telling my MD as I don't want to take the Mick being in and out, also I was quite upset yesterday so just thought it better that she knows. She's been so understanding and that definitely helps. I just wish I didn't have the brown discharge on the tissue. Yeah he booked me in for Xmas eve, just seems forever away. Whatever is going on I just want to know either way. If I'm lucky to carry to term then I really will try and be more calm.... she says..

Hollielouise · 04/12/2019 13:41

@hermionelodge of course - it's such a confusing and lonely time! I've cried twice at work today already so looking very unstable! Hope you get some clarity from the GP tomorrow. I'm planning on booking in an early scan on the 19th/20th Dec and can let you know the dates/size then if all goes well 🤞🏼

hermionelodge · 04/12/2019 13:55

@Hollielouise aw it's so understandable. The hormones and emotions are strong! It will all make sense when you can finally share your news 😊 lovely thank you, good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine but will have my fingers crossed for you!

ninemonthwait · 04/12/2019 17:45

Good Luck tomorrow with your scan @Missdrifter what time is it?

@hermionelodge sorry to hear of your concerns! Hang in there a few more weeks then you will get to see the little bean again.

I am terrified I am going to be faced with nothingness tomorrow, I've just started getting a few twinges today to.

@amysara24 congrats, so pleased it went well for you :)

@hermionelodge sorry it didn't go quite to plan. Really hope the next few weeks fly for you so you can go back and see a heartbeat 🙏🏻

@ninemonthwait and @Missdrifter all the best for tomorrow. Let us know how you go!

I had the weirdest dream last night that I went to the loo and saw red in my pants.... but it was strawberry jam?!? It was so vivid that when I woke up I thought it was all over so I was pleased there was no red, jam or otherwise in my pants 🙈 I think I'm just anxious because the first day of my last period when I was preg last time fell on a Thursday and it's the same this time so tomorrow will be the day that I last time started to bleed and by the following Thursday the gp was ringing me at 7pm over and over until I picked up to tell me my bloods had come back and it was all over. Bit of an anxiety overload for me at the mo.

hermionelodge · 04/12/2019 17:58

Thanks @squirrelnutkins1, trying to just be calm and positive. There's lots on over the next couple of weeks but the days are still dragging.

Sorry to hear of your previous loss. I can understand how anxious you must be at this time but try and keep positive (I know that's rich coming from me!) A previous loss doesn't mean it will happen again. I have everything crossed you have a full and healthy pregnancy this time. The relief you will feel tomorrow morning when there is no bleeding will be amazing, and hopefully that will put your mind at ease.

squirrelnutkins1 · 04/12/2019 18:05

@hermionelodge thank you I appreciate that. I'm trying to think sensibly in my mind but we all know it doesn't always work like that. I make up the most ridiculous scenarios in my head as well which doesn't help.
Here's hoping we can end the year on a high filled with hope 😊

Missdrifter · 04/12/2019 18:35

Thanks @squirrelnutkins1 and @ninemonthwait. Scan is at 7 30pm I think and I literally don’t feel a tiny bit pregnant and I think I will be very surprised if there is something there, I am just convinced I am not pregnant but I hope I am Wong. What time is your scan @ninemonthwait?

ninemonthwait · 04/12/2019 18:45

@Missdrifter mine is at 8am...contemplating going to bed now so it gets here sooner! I'm like you, will be very surprised if it is good news but fingers crossed!

Missdrifter · 04/12/2019 18:52

@ninemonthwait you have done the right thing by having yours early. I am just going to be anxious all day. I am so pleased I am having an early scan though so that if something is wrong then it’s better to know sooner. Do you have any symptoms yet? Any I had have all gone!

ninemonthwait · 04/12/2019 19:05

@Missdrifter not really anything still. Boobs are a bit sore if I prod them and about an hour ago started with the odd stabbing pain in my belly so half expecting to wake up to see blood tomorrow. Trying to tell myself it is all in my head and everything will be OK but the nagative voice is louder!

Missdrifter · 04/12/2019 19:07

@ninemonthwait I am sure you will be absolutely fine and have my fingers crossed for both of us. Hopefully we both manage to sleep tonight.

squirrelnutkins1 · 04/12/2019 19:57

@ninemonthwait I'm exactly the same! Only sore when prodded and some pains. Urgh. It's an emotional minefield!!!

Missdrifter · 05/12/2019 07:12

Good luck for this morning @ninemonthwait I hope it all goes well.

Chlandy · 05/12/2019 07:28

Hope both your scans go well today @ninemonthwait and @Missdrifter xx
