Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

@LittleMrsMama how was your scan today?

@Missdrifter thank you! Feeling alright. Mainly because I keep reminding myself all of it is pregnancy related! I wouldn't say I feel pregnant per say, more just a bit rough all the time!

At least tomato soup has some goodness in it ladies, there are worse things to be eating I am sure.

I'm struggling to drink much because drinking anything seems to make me feel super bloated/nauseous but am trying to force myself. Smells are bothering me at the minute, can't stand raw anything. DH cooked dinner last night and because it had chicken thighs, which I had smelt when raw, I couldn't face eating it. How ridiculous is that?!

Can't sleep now either. Last two nights I've been awake several times. And I had a random nosebleed today, just started dripping spontaneously. And now I'm always cold! I was hot before (maybe that was after effects of clomid still) but definitely cold now. Worried about hiding my symptoms at work the next few weeks. Don't want to take time off as don't want to tell them. I have a nightmare manager and have such an awful week ahead of me Sad

LittleMrsMama · 01/12/2019 16:01

That's so nice (and amazing) you remembered @englishrain! Thank you! Just about to leave for it now, I'm so nervous!!! Eeeek! Will let you all know how I get on

You're right, definitely worse things to eat than Tomato soup! I've also suffered with a strong sense of smell. Twice this week I've gone into the kitchen and DH has cooked smelly food that's made me throw up.

Sorry to hear your boss is a nightmare, hiding the symptoms will be hard. There are so many bugs going around that it may be easier to just say you've got one of those?

Missdrifter · 01/12/2019 17:12

Good luck @LittleMrsMama. Can’t wait to hear all about it!

Chlandy · 01/12/2019 17:19

Hey mamas to be, can I ask is anyone else looking about 20 weeks gone by the end of the day.... I'm 6w+2, I wake up looking ever so slightly bloated, but by bed time I'm HUGE! I've only had breakfast and my tea today (nausea fun) and within about 20 mins of eating my tea I literally look to have a 20 week bump! (I know it's not bump ha), this is my 2nd baby though so wondering if that's why, as everything is already stretched 🤷🏻‍♀️🤰🏻 I haven't been able to fit into my jeans this past week either 🤔 xx

amysara24 · 01/12/2019 17:25

@Chlandy I hadn’t noticed bloating until the past few days, my jeans are starting to feel tight! I’ve been losing a bit of weight so I know it isn’t “bump”, and it goes down a bit overnight. Oh the joys!!

@LittleMrsMama ooo I hope your scan goes well, fingers crossed!

Chlandy · 01/12/2019 17:30

Thank goodness I'm not the only one @amysara24 🤭! I don't remember it first time round, I was showing just before 12 weeks last time, but never experienced early bloating from what I can remember!

Kizzy8705 · 01/12/2019 17:48

I’m joining here and Aug as I’m due anywhere from the end of July to 2nd aug, differed a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks in May and a chemical last month so feeling anxious. I’m 5+3

EnglishRain · 01/12/2019 18:48

@Chlandy and @amysara24 I'm definitely in the bloat camp too! My jeans aren't comfy so I'm straight in pyjamas bottoms if I don't have to go out again. I am lactose intolerant and suffer with IBS at times so bloat is no stranger to me, but it definitely seems to be a permanent fixture at the moment, can't even suck it in...wearing scarves at work every day to give me some coverage Blush

LittleMrsMama · 01/12/2019 18:50

Thanks for the lovely messages everyone! Scan went well and saw the little one and their hearbeat. I always feel like 'I'm be less worried when...' and a big milestone was the scan but now it's 12 weeks. I'd definitely recommend an early scan, it was only £40 and so quick and the lady was absolutely amazing.

@Kizzy8705 - sorry to hear about everything you've had to go through. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that things go smoothly for you this time xx

EnglishRain · 01/12/2019 18:51

Welcome @Kizzy8705 and sorry to hear about your losses. There are a few of us on here who have been waiting a longggggg time for these pregnancies, or that have also suffered losses.

We've been TTC over 2.5 years and were about to be referred for IVF - had two chemicals in the last 14 months but that's it. You will be in good company with us Halo

LittleMrsMama · 01/12/2019 18:51

I'm also feeling very bloated - @englishrain great idea with the scarves!! 😮

EnglishRain · 01/12/2019 18:52

Yay! So pleased for you @LittleMrsMama ! How far along are you, and do you match your dates more or less? And did you get away with an external scan or did you have to endure the dildo wand too?!

Know what you mean re next milestones. I will go back in two weeks for an 8 week scan I know it Blush

LittleMrsMama · 01/12/2019 20:33

@englishrain I thought I was 6+6 but I'm 6+5 so very close - due 21st July :) sadly the external scan didn't show up so had to go internal. It wasn't as bad as I thought though and the probe doesn't go in very far. I know what you mean with another scan! I'm going to try to hold out and see what date my NHS one is. We really want to tell our parents and immediate family at Christmas (just over 10 weeks) so will probably do another scan a few days before to double check everything is still okay. I'm sure I read that we're due at a similar time, when are you planning on telling people?

Kiki275 · 01/12/2019 20:34

@Chlandy you've described me exactly. Some nights I resemble a whale carcass, one prod and I'll explode x

ninemonthwait · 01/12/2019 20:56

@littlemrMama did you need to empty your bladder for the internal scan?

Still no symptoms for me. Just had a weekend away with friends swapping my drinks with nosecco I had hidden in the cupboard - it was hard work!

JackGordonsMummy · 01/12/2019 21:00

@LittleMrsMama are you 6+5 from LMP? I'm still trying to figure out I've I've got the right dates. Glad you got a little sneak peek. So annoying having to wait till after xmas to tell your loved ones. I've told my parents and DP parents and my close friends I can't hold my own water Haha x

LittleMrsMama · 02/12/2019 07:57

@ninemonthwait yeah I had to empty my bladder before the internal. I spent all day drinking so much water but apparently my bladder wasn't full enough still (amount of pee I had suggested otherwise :p). After the nurse couldn't see anything on the abdominal scan she asked me to go to the loo before doing the internal scan. At that point I was so scared something was wrong as you can imagine but it's still quite early to see on the abdominal scan. I was dreading the internal scan but it really wasn't bad, I was too busy watching the little bean on the TV to even notice what was going on.

@jackgordonsmummy Yesterday I was technically 6+6 from LMP (14th Oct) but I think because I have slightly longer cycles the little bean was only measuring 6+5 so going to go with that now. There are lots of online calculators that can help work it out as well as the due date :)

Have a good day everyone!

ladyofearlybedtimes · 02/12/2019 10:15

I'm thinking of booking a private scan for 8 weeks. Can you see much at that stage?

JackGordonsMummy · 02/12/2019 10:55

I had one at 8 weeks my last pregnancy (hot one booked for this bubba top on the 13th of Dec) you can see the baby and the heartbeat kinda looks like a sea horse here's a wee pic x

ladyofearlybedtimes · 02/12/2019 13:45

@JackGordonsMummy oh wow how exciting.

LucyLucyT · 02/12/2019 17:04

I turned 8 weeks today and had an early scan as part of my fertility clinic follow up. I was in a real panic as had some light pink discharge yesterday so was thinking the worse even though I know this can happen to a lot of women. Anyway fast forward past a sleepless night and my scan was all good, measuring at exactly 8 weeks and saw the little heart beat which was amazing. So relieved, although I know I'll still get nervous about every symptom! No more discharge as yet, hoping I don't get more. Next scan New Year's Eve. Midwife appointment on Thursday. Congrats to the other people who have joined to share their good news :-D

amysara24 · 02/12/2019 19:25

@LucyLucyT that’s amazing, what a relief to see a heartbeat! I have my fertility clinic scan next Wednesday and I really can’t wait.
I’ve had a few pangs of pain in my lower abdomen today which haven’t been pleasant. Also this might be a bit telling but oh well, I don’t know if you’ve heard the news about Falkirk but mine is one of the 8000 homes without gas so no heating 😥 frosty towers this evening!!
I’ve also just cried at carollers going past the house because they woke me up from a nap 😴
How is everyone feeling this morning? Those who have had their first scan, has it put your mind at rest a bit?

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/12/2019 20:22

Can I join please? Got my BFP recently, this was cycle 27. We did get a BFP in March but ended in early mc 💔

We're under the fertility clinic and I've been taking Letrazole but yno what, last month I didn't take it cus I only had a weird light period so didn't feel ok to take it and then shockingly we got our BFP!

I'm not sure whether to phone the fertility clinic or not? I've got an appt in Jan but part of me wants to keep it just in case!

I'm thinking of booking an early scan at 8.5 weeks which will be 23rd Dec. Did it out peoples minds at rest at least a bit?

No really symptoms other than sore, glass cutting nips!!! And really bloated on an evening.

Sorry for the essay!!

Congrats everyone ❤️

mywrencalls · 02/12/2019 20:57

@squirrelnutkins1 Hi and congrats! ...The bloated thing on the evening, urgh! I don't really eat after 5pm but without fail, by 8-9pm I've reached whale status it feels.

My symptoms seem to be progressing each day. No real nausea yet but food aversions have kicked in and I have a constant horrible taste in my mouth no matter how many times I brush my teeth.

Not got much of an appetite and can't eat anything sweet Hmm

I was a six cups of coffee a day person but can't stomach that now either! Sad

ninemonthwait · 02/12/2019 20:57

@squirrelnutkins1 congrats! I would call the Fertility Clinic as they may offer you an early scan... I have mind on Thursday.

Has seeing a heartbeat taking away some of the anxiety for those that have had their scans?
