Anyone else just got their BFP? After 15 months of trying I have finally got mine, I am so excited but terrified of the long nine months ahead. Will definitely be going for an early scan in December for some reassurance!

@Missdrifter enjoy Grin. I haven't any either yet (7wks) but as this is baby no.2 for me, I'm fully aware of the 'joys' to come x

Scared94 · 26/11/2019 18:46

Hi everyone! Ive got a an EDD of 22nd July! I'm not 100% sure it's a sticky bean tho so fingers crossed! Scan is Friday but docs told me to wait for a miscarriage due to my hormone levels.

Had 6 miscarriages so far so dreading another potential one! absolutely no symptoms now but Being positive!

Missdrifter · 26/11/2019 18:49

Thanks ladies, that’s reassured me that I am not the only one. I can’t believe I am willing the sickness to kick in, just so that I can start believing it if anything.

@Scared94 so sorry to hear about your miscarriages, that must have been so tough on you. Have they all been early on? I think we have the same EDD! Fingers crossed this is the baby you deserve.

Scared94 · 26/11/2019 18:51

@missdrifter from 4 weeks up to 10 weeks unfortunately! I've got a 2 year old boy tho who seems to be a miracle!

Is it normal for symptoms to come and go I felt so sick a few days back and my boobs were so sore and now nothing! I'm trying to be positive lol!
Xx

Missdrifter · 26/11/2019 18:59

That must have been really awful for you @Scared94 have the doctors given you any medication or anything for it?

From my researching apparently it’s normal for symptoms to come and go. My boobs go from being slightly sore to nothing and then back to being a bit sore!

Scared94 · 26/11/2019 19:29

I'm on a management plan but they want to detect a heartbeat before they start the medication :( the scan is Friday to see where we're at!

Oh that's good! It's so hard isn't it we stress about it when we're told not to stress! Fingers crossed for us all xx

Scared94 · 26/11/2019 19:30

Sorry forgot to tag you lol @Missdrifter x

LittleMrsMama · 26/11/2019 21:40

Sorry to hear about your miscarriages @scared94 - I'll be keeping everything crossed for you!

I'm 6+1 and have had nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and sore breasts for the last 2 weeks so trying to be grateful for the difficult time reading everyone's messages worrying about having no symptoms. I'm the opposite and just hoping for a morning where I don't feel like I'm going to throw up everywhere :p
I think everyone and every pregnancy is different so good for us all not to worry and relax. I'm getting an early scan on Sunday for some reassurance and would definitely recommend it for peace of mind.

Scared94 · 26/11/2019 21:50

@LittleMrsMama thank you!
I know what you mean I was like that when I had my little boy, so great full for the sickness but literally crying begging for it to stop!
X

LittleMrsMama · 26/11/2019 22:05

I'm glad it's not just me @scared94

I'll be thinking of you on Friday and keeping my fingers crossed. Let us know how you get on :)

Scared94 · 26/11/2019 22:14

I will do thank you lovely xx

Hollielouise · 27/11/2019 05:58

When is the best time to go for and early scan? Should I try and hold off until 8
weeks? 👀 .... there's no way I can wait for the nhs one at 12 weeks!

hermionelodge · 27/11/2019 06:18

I think so, I think 6 weeks there's less chance if hearing a heartbeat. I'm not sure about 7 weeks, you might hear one then. I am an waiting to get past the 6 week Mark then I'm going to book an early scan for the 22nd December, I will be just under 9 weeks then

Hollielouise · 27/11/2019 07:14

Thanks @hermionelodge I'll book something for the week of the 23rd, I'll be 8 +2 then so hopefully enough. Hope yours goes well

LittleMrsMama · 27/11/2019 08:04

@hermionelodge is right that later is better. @Hollielouise 7 weeks onwards should be okay but that's if someone is definitely that far along. E.g. I'm going at 6+6 which should just about be okay if I got my calculations right but if I'm not as far along as I thought then i've not left any room for error. I was just so excited and the place I'm going to offers a free follow up if you don't see something in your first scan. DH also has a feeling we're having twins so would be good to know if that's the case!

Cthomas87 · 27/11/2019 10:21

Hi all, wanted to join. I think I'm due 27th July. Am over the moon but absolutely terrified!! We had a late loss in May which was devastating as I thought we were out of the danger zone. and I've been desperate to get pregnant again since. Now I am I am so scared something is going to go wrong! How do you all cope? Confused

LittleMrsMama · 27/11/2019 10:40

Welcome @Cthomas87! Congratulations on your BFP! I'm so sorry to hear about your tough time with your last pregnancy, that must have been so difficult for you.

I imagine it must be more worrying after going through something like that and this is only the first time I've been pregnant and still early days (I think I'm about a week along from you). I've read so much online about trying to prevent miscarriages and preparing yourself but it seems like most of the time nothing could have been done so trying not to worry too much as stressing out when pregnant isn't helpful. I also think everything happens for a reason, even if it doesn't feel like it at the time. I'm sure if something happened I would be absolutely devastated though.

I'd say try to take each day as it comes and not overthink things too much. I've looked at a miscarriage rate calculator and seen the chances decrease each day which makes me feel a lot better (but clearly isn't going to be completely accurate and even if there's a 0.0000001% chance something can happen it could still happen.

Stay positive, I'm sure this is your time and things will work out for you. It might be worth getting an early reassurance scan privately or sharing your concerns with the midwife and they might be able to get you in early

ladyofearlybedtimes · 27/11/2019 10:50

I got my BFP on Saturday after days of very painful boobs, I have no idea when my period was actually due, but guessing from conception from my fiancée I must be around 5 weeks. I'm terrified to be perfectly honest as me and my partner don't even live together anymore (I moved out in March) and things are still very up and down. I am happy though. No symptoms yet for me

ladyofearlybedtimes · 27/11/2019 10:51

I'm due the 31st July (I think)

Kiki275 · 27/11/2019 14:04

@ladyofearlybedtimes it's such a scary proposition but you can do this!x

ladyofearlybedtimes · 27/11/2019 14:38

@Kiki275 thank you, i'm sure I can, i'm just getting my head around it still. I have two children already who are 4 and 7 and I suspect I will end up a single parent to three, as I just can't see the relationship working long term. He's very excited and maybe it might be the kick he needs to sort his life out.

Missdrifter · 28/11/2019 17:05

Hi ladies just checking in and hoping everyone is doing well. Has anyone told work people yet? I had to tell the head at my school today because I work in a special needs school and some of the children can be quite aggressive and physical.

Good luck @Scared94 for tomorrow’s scan.

mywrencalls · 28/11/2019 17:19

Hello all, I booked my booking in appointment but the midwife can't see me until NYE, I'll be 10 weeks then Shock
I'm a little concerned that I won't get my nuchal scan and combined test done at 12-13 weeks (I'm 37 so really want it done at the best possible time) would this concern any of you? Not sure whether to change Dr's to see if I can get in sooner. I might be worrying for nothing but just anxious about getting the tests done on time.

amysara24 · 28/11/2019 17:26

Hi @Missdrifter I hope you’re keeping well? I’ve only told my mentor but no management yet! I told my parents this week as my mum had a “big” birthday - one she joked about not wanting to be a granny before so we made it a bit of a joke / birthday present.
@mywrencalls I think they’ll probably try and fit it in at the right time, there’s always the option of having an early scan at a private clinic if you want to put your mind at rest! I would guess they’ll not let it go too long though..
