@SunshineCrocodile I'm so sorry to hear your news. Particularly unfair after hearing the heartbeat. Love and hugs to you and your partner. Xx

Beaglemum93 · 06/11/2019 17:00

I'm so sorry for your loss @SunshineCrocodile :( it is so unfair. Look after yourself and make sure you have plenty of support around you x

strawberrye · 06/11/2019 17:49

@SunshineCrocodile really sorry to read your news. It's really shit and words don't even cover it. I hope you are being looked after in real life xx

ReeRi · 06/11/2019 17:57

@SunshineCrocodile I am so very sorry to read your update. It is rubbish dealing with that happening to you once, let alone three times. I can understand you not wanting to try again but maybe this is something for you to think about when some time has passed and for now just surround yourself with supportive people and do things that comfort you. If you ever want to PM me then please do xx

sadtoday21 · 06/11/2019 18:06

@SunshineCrocodile I'm so so sorry to read your news. I know there is little anyone can say or do to comfort you at this time, but I just want you to know that we are all thinking of you and here anytime you need to talk. This is really really unfair and you deserve so much more. Please drink all the wine and relax as much as possible. Sending you virtual hugs

Navy123 · 06/11/2019 19:39

@SunshineCrocodile so sorry to hear your update. I wish there was anything we could do to make it easier. I hope you've got some good support in real life and take all the time you need.

Navy123 · 06/11/2019 19:43

@InDreamland I feel exactly that too, that people here are somehow overtaking me! Your own pregnancy definitely goes much slower than everyone else's.

@TwittleBee lovely to have you back!

I'm 18 weeks today and feeling little one move lots which is reassuring. Also started getting some intense braxton hicks which are less pleasant!

ChikiTIKI · 06/11/2019 20:27

I'm so sorry @SunshineCrocodile xxxx

MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue · 06/11/2019 20:50

Glad that all was ok @InDreamland that sounds like a horrible experience for the middle of the night. You did the right thing and lovely that the midwife was so kind. How was your appointment today?

I also feel like that @Navy123! Like people are catching up and over taking and I'm still here plodding along!

I'm almost 32 weeks now. Today I realised I should probably think about my hospital bag, even if I'm having a section I'm aware these things don't always go to plan! So I bought some travel toiletries, maternity pads and ordered some c-section pants. They will probably sit in a carrier bag by my bed but at least I feel like I've started! Also today an older lady stopped me in the street looking shocked and confused. I thought she was going to ask me directions, but she asked me "are you due?" with the same shocked expression on her face. I was so taken aback and pissed off I replied "not today I'm not" and walked off!!!!

Lozzak87 · 06/11/2019 21:53

@SunshineCrocodile I am so sorry to hear your news 😭 look after yourself and surround yourself with people who love you. I know I've only just got to know you but feel free to pm me if you want to. Sending massive virtual hugs your way xxxxx

Bluebelltulip · 06/11/2019 21:56

@Indreamland sorry you had a scare but glad you got checked and everything was fine.

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue the only thing I've done for my hospital bag is buy some maternity pads and put them in the cupboard. DH got some things down from the attic this evening as he was putting up some of DD's toys that she's outgrown, I found it too upsetting to deal with atm so have shut it in the spare room for now.

frillyfarmer · 06/11/2019 22:26

@SunshineCrocodile I'm so so sorry to read your news. Please be kind to yourself. Xx

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGluedefinitely eeek time is really stomping on now - hospital bag packing!

InDreamland · 06/11/2019 23:43

@Navy123 that's great your feeling movements now.

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue thank you. My appointment was a disappointment really. GP took 10 mins to check blood pressure, HB on doppler, and measure bump size. Gotta take urine sample in tomorrow. Worried though as bump size had actually gone down by 1cm in 2.5 weeks! That's so not right. Apparently measuring bang on what it should be now but 2.5 weeks ago was 26cms and now measuring 25cms. How is that possible? Only thing I can think of is that I had a full bladder at the last one and an empty one at today's but in 2.5 weeks I'd expect bump to grow regardless of full or empty bladder. So I've emailed my midwife, hope I get a response tomorrow. That's so exciting you're starting on your hospital bag. I think I have a few bits in the house I can take. Got travel size toiletries (posh ones that were a gift) and maternity pads from mc's as stocked up but will need to buy more. That woman is just rude! Or plain weird.

@Bluebelltulip thanks. It was horrible but so grateful things were ok.

Pleased that today Bubsy has been very active kicking away. Even as I write this.

@Indreamland that is exactly why it should be the same person measuring each time. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about at all. The measuring is massively inaccurate, if you thought the scans were inaccurate. Well the measuring just takes the piss!

Rubyroost · 07/11/2019 00:25

It's likely that the first measurements were inaccurate given that your anomaly scan was pretty average and then suddenly two weeks later you're huge! 🙄I'm eyerolling at the person saying you were big BTW.

InDreamland · 07/11/2019 09:07

@Rubyroost thanks. Midwife emailed me back and advised not to worry as any measurement before 25w is not very accurate and acknowledged different people measured. Said unlikely bump has shrunk. Now just to wait to see if GP calls me about urine sample, no call is good news ........hope there isn't any sugar or protein in it. Would like to not have that worry. Then I can call to book GTT.

I'm so sorry for your loss @SunshineCrocodile ThanksThanks life really isn't fair sometimes. I really hope you are doing okay and that your getting the support you need. Thinking of you xx

Dimblebimble · 07/11/2019 12:09

@janey15 that's my thinking, I've waited so long and been through so much that I want to enjoy it. We definitely deserve it! I also feel like I need a bit of a break since I didn't have time off for the mcs, feeling a bit burnt out as a result. Great that the ivf money will come in handy!

Hope you're all doing well :) is 15 weeks today, can't wait to hear the heartbeat next week! Thought I felt a little gurgling/bubbling sensation in bed last night, but could just be my digestive system 😂 don't know how to tell!

Rubyroost · 07/11/2019 17:47

@InDreamland didn't you have any spare wee yesterday? 😂. How'd the urine results go?

InDreamland · 07/11/2019 18:02

@Rubyroost lol! Was supposed to do yesterday but light in the GP's toilet was broken. I'm not doing it in the dark! So had to take sample in this morning. No call so far so guess good news. I'll call to book GTT tomorrow for 27 weeks.

OP posts:
Rubyroost · 07/11/2019 18:34

It's crap they wait so long for gtt esp if you're at risk. You would have thought they would do it at 24 weeks. I know without the NHS lots of people would be screwed, but sometimes I do wonder...

Notnowokay · 07/11/2019 20:29

@Rubyroost are you having symptoms that are worrying you? My cousin told her midwife about concerns about gtt and her midwife arrange one for her. She had it done the following day. So if you are worried call your midwife and she can then either reassure you or send you for gtt.

The whole gtt check list is sometime self defeating. I as a type 1 diabetic, still qualify for it. I have always refused it. What is the point? We already know I'm diabetic yet I have always needed to officially declare I'm not doing it and I have had one midwife try to strong arm me into having one. But she was new to the clinic, so I can't blame her to much.

Squiff70 · 07/11/2019 20:39

@Navy123 I'm glad you're feeling movements now! What do the BHs feel like?

@MyHeartIsBrokeButIHaveSomeGlue Some people don't give a shit do they? Glad you firmly put her in her place! Deffo think about your hospital bag soon but don't tie yourself in knots over it like I will over mine

@InDreamland So glad you're okay and bubsy is kicking away now! Try not to worry too much about measurements and listen to your midwife :) I'm sure everything is okay.

I'm 20+4 today and saw my midwife yesterday (routine). She checked both babies heartbeats and they're both fine - the boy is more chilled than the girl but he's been quite active tonight as I've felt him wriggling a lot! I mentioned to the MW that my skin is getting really itchy including the palms of my hands, lower legs and bump and she said it could be obstetric cholestasis. She took bloods there and then and said she'd ring me the the results. I haven't heard anything as yet so assume for now that no news is good news!
