Hello Everyone!

I am due my second baby on 27th June 2020. I thought I would start a separate thread for those due at the end of the month as I don't know about you but I feel a bit left behind in the June thread Grin. Maybe we can have people from 20th June to 4th July in here? Then we will all be super close!

Maybe we can comment with a bit of info so I'll start:

Due date: 27th June
Baby: #2
TTC cycle: 6
Symptoms: nausea when hungry and hot flushes

@Bikbikmum These days I am either eating, or weeing. 17 weeks tomorrow. Midwife suggested eating as much as I want, of healthy things. I'm not sure the 6 pack of pickled onion monster munch I ate yesterday was what she had in mind!

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2020 08:00

Hi ladies, would anyone be happy to report how much weight gain they have so far ? I'm 18w darent look how much yet at my midwife apps when she weighs me I look at the ceiling.
Was 9st 13 before pregnancy x

Smiffette · 17/01/2020 08:03

@mrssunshinexxx I don't mind sharing, I've put on 13lbs so far and I'm 19 + 4.
I'm 5ft 9 so don't think I look particularly big and in loose clothes you wouldn't tell I'm pregnant. My boobs have gone up nearly two sizes! Can still JUST fit in my size 12 jeans although by midday after lunch I would need to undo the button and do the old hair band trick so it's not uncomfortable.
I read in the second trimester it's normal to put on 1-2 lbs a week!

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2020 10:07

Thanks @Smiffette x

bubblesqueek · 17/01/2020 11:03

@mrssunshinexxx I'm 16+5 and put on 4lb, I'm having to remind myself to eat the past few weeks x

toomuchteaandcake · 17/01/2020 11:04

I've lost weight, BMI was 31 when I started hoping it will be under 30 at next weigh! Thing is that I have kept weight on my belly but lost it everywhere else! I'm also tall 5'10 so not 'visibly' pg yet at 16 weeks

Bikbikmum · 18/01/2020 06:56

I eat lots of bircher nowadays, made with yoghurt. I was conceived with high BMI (34) and I was size 16. I don't know how much I gained but I am now size 16-18 maternity.

Did your Gp or midwife offer you whopping cough vaccine at w20? Are you planning to have one?

mrssunshinexxx · 18/01/2020 07:23

@Bikbikmum yeah got mine hooked in for day after my scan

Millettmum · 18/01/2020 10:07

I've got my whooping cough vaccine booked for 16+6

bubblesqueek · 18/01/2020 12:17

I don't know how I feel about vaccines

mrssunshinexxx · 18/01/2020 12:57

@bubblesqueek you need to do your own research.
I'm pro vaccine regardless but there's a lady I know who lost her daughter at 3 months to whooping cough

Bikbikmum · 19/01/2020 13:13

I had spoken with my midwife and read some research. I asked her some questions. She told me that these vaccines are designed for humanbeings and no research available for fetuses. But there is no evident side effect, majority of pregnant women have them. she was neither positive nor negative. But she was definetely positive once the baby is born. This is interesting. I was told that There is no research done for benefits and side effects of this vaccine for the baby in the womb (it is a combo of many vaccines not just whooppng cough). Some mums got sick afterwards (so due to allergies some due to side effects) If it is effective, they hope it would protect baby until the 8th week and then the baby would have the actual vaccination at 8th week. I still couldn't make my mind but want to read more, discuss more and want to make an informed decision with my husband. I also want to research about number of cases in our area for whooping cough. I am pro vaccine and hoping to have all vaccines once the baby is born. I havent had flu vax as well. ( I had it once, many years ago and I got so sick afterwards, that's why I skipped)

LassoOfTruth · 20/01/2020 13:21

I'd normally say I'm a let-live/horses for courses type of person. Of course, you must do your own research and follow your own conscience.
BUT (forgive me for getting on my soapbox just this one time) for the love of God/Budda/the Spaghetti monster in the sky, get all the vaccines recommended. Whooping cough is deadly for small babies and dangerous for you if you are asthmatic. I had it when I was 12, and it was terrible - I was seriously still suffering a year later and I was healthy and had no lung problems. Measles kills children. Meningitis kills and maims people. The Flu jab cannot make you sick with flu. It contains NO live virus. If you get a 'flu' type illness afterwards it is probably a) not flu, or b) it got you before the vaccine could take effect. Allergies and other bad reactions are extremely rare.
Ahem. I've climbed down now, as you were.
I've put on about 12lbs since becoming pregnant (17 weeks along). I can still just about wear my size 12 jeggings but have treated myself to some new size 14 full-bum-up-to-the boobs-style pants and feel much better for it Smile

HL123 · 20/01/2020 18:02

@LassoOfTruth completely agree! There is so much false research about, the benefits of vaccinations far outweigh any risks (in my opinion).

I've gained over a stone and I'm 19 weeks.. it's not looking great 😂 can somehow still squeeze into my pre pregnancy jeans though.

MRSRCH · 22/01/2020 10:11

Is it normal at 17 weeks to not 'feel pregnant' anymore? I knew my energy would lift around this time and symptoms fade off but I just feel really anxious that somethings wrong. I know I won't feel movements yet (damn anteria placenta!) but I'm sure with both my other babies I felt pregnant at this stage. I can't put my finger on it but something just feels off?

bubblesqueek · 22/01/2020 10:54

@MRSRCH I'm 16+3 and feel exactly the same x

bubblesqueek · 22/01/2020 10:55

@MRSRCH 17+3 sorry

Millettmum · 22/01/2020 12:21

@MRSRCH yes I'm the same 16+6, on second pregnancy I think I've felt the odd flutter but can't be sure.

bubblesqueek · 22/01/2020 20:28

Well Iv felt as if I havnt felt pregnant either but been for a scan tonight and everything is fine & we are having a girl 👧🏼

MRSRCH · 22/01/2020 20:56

Aw how lovely @bubblesqueek nice to be reassured too!
I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way!

LassoOfTruth · 23/01/2020 12:45

Ahh @bubblesqueek that's so great!

@MRSRCH I'm sometimes forgetting I'm pregnant these days and then feeling quite guilty Blush.
It's great not to feel so ridiculously tired ALL the time although I am still waiting for my 'glow' to come in place of the current 'puffy spotty ancient frog' look I'm sporting. This pregnancy I'm definitely feeling flutters which is very nice. With DC1 my placenta was in front and so I felt only the largest kicks later on really. I'm 17 + 6 weeks today. We have our scan week after next and I can't wait to see the little squiggly bean again!
We're trying to decide now whether we want to know the sex or not - are you ladies keeping it as a surprise or trying to see the relevant baby body parts?

Millettmum · 23/01/2020 13:17

I was wanting a surprise this time, but with circumstances at home I think it best if I mentally prepare for what sex baby is going to be.

MRSRCH · 23/01/2020 13:47

@LassoOfTruth I'm going to be finding out, my 2 boys were a surprise and is this is our last we will find out but still keep it between just me an my husband (hopefully!) although if squidge is a girl I don't know if I'll contain my excitement lol

LassoOfTruth · 24/01/2020 15:13

@MRSRCH lol! I can see how you might be extra excited for a little girl. We have just one other DC, a girl, and since this will probably be our second and last child (I'm 41) I'm sort of secretly hoping for a little boy. But honestly it doesn't matter to me as long as we're all healthy etc. The Bean knows I'm talking about them because I can feel him/her wriggling away in there today!

Bikbikmum · 27/01/2020 15:30

Congrats all of you, it is an exciting time! Since we start knowing the genders now, do you plan to do shopping as well? I at least started browsing. I am confused with sizing guide at H&M, Next, John Lewis.
