Hello Everyone!

I am due my second baby on 27th June 2020. I thought I would start a separate thread for those due at the end of the month as I don't know about you but I feel a bit left behind in the June thread Grin. Maybe we can have people from 20th June to 4th July in here? Then we will all be super close!

Maybe we can comment with a bit of info so I'll start:

Due date: 27th June
Baby: #2
TTC cycle: 6
Symptoms: nausea when hungry and hot flushes

I’m 6+4 today and really struggling with tiredness and nausea. Emotions are running riot too. I have a very spirited 11 yr old daughter and she’s really taking it out of me at the moment. I feel like I need to cry and moan but at the same time that isn’t my personality! I’m so conflicted! GP appointment on Friday afternoon so I’d imagine she’ll refer me to the EPU due to a mc a few months ago.

I just need to fast forward a few months Confused

Magpiefeather · 12/11/2019 12:25

I feel like I’m already lost in the system... or actually more like I’m lost trying to get INTO the system...

Filled in form at the GP for the midwife, it said if they hadn’t rung me in 10 days to call the community midwife number

So I waited 10 working days, called them yesterday and someone took my details and said my local midwife would call me back....

How long do I wait before I pester again? I know it’s still early days but I’m 7 weeks now and want them to at least know I exist and book me for my 12 week scan!

Trying not to get het up about it but their system seems nonsensical to me. Rant over!!

The tiredness has truly hit. Fell asleep reading bedtime stories to my 2.5 year old last night, next thing I know DH is prodding me 45 mins later - I’m curled up asleep on the floor! Managed to fight sleep watching only connect then went to bed at 8.30.

Throwing up at least once a day. Feel grim. Forgot how rough early pregnancy can be!!!!

Magpiefeather · 12/11/2019 12:27

Also pretty sure my DD is going to let the secret slip. Every time I have a snack she announces “mummy sick” - shhhh child!

marmitecheesetoast · 12/11/2019 13:17

Ah @magpiefeather I keep falling asleep putting my 2.5 year old to bed too! Then getting in bed myself, I’m exhausted!
How did you tell your DD? I’ve not told mine yet.

That sounds like a right pain with your midwife service, how frustrating. Fingers crossed you hear soon. I’ve got my booking appt on 26th Nov when I’ll be 9 weeks but won’t get a scan date until I’m at that appt...
I’m getting worried about how close to Christmas it’ll be and don’t want it ending up tipping over into the new year wish they’d just book it in now! All the waiting is so frustrating isn’t it.

I have been feeling hideous, I have almost constant nausea, including when I wake up in the middle of the night. I’ve been sick a few times but mainly just constant nausea and gagging. I haven’t made a cup of tea in two weeks the thought utterly turns my stomach! I’ve also taken very strongly against the smell of coffee which is problematic. Finding getting public transport to work a challenge as everyone stands so close and my sense of smell has become very sensitive... I’ve started sucking extra strong mints on the tram which has helped a bit mask some of the smells/give me something to concentrate on but I’m still sure I’m going to hurl all over the other commuters one of those days! Have just ordered some anti sickness bands to see if that helps.

Sorry I can’t advise @EPSpartyof3 But can imagine how much more worrying it must be when you’ve previously had a MC. I do know spotting can be quite normal, but maybe worth getting it checked out to hopefully put your mind at rest?

7 weeks today. Wishing my work day away!

Cornishbumpkin · 12/11/2019 16:03

@Magpiefeather I'm 8 weeks today and have a similar system with my GP that yours does. I put the form in 3 weeks ago but still hadn't heard, I found out from the community midwives that the midwife was at our GP surgery on Tuesdays, I rang today and she said she had been given my form today and has made my appt for the 26th nov as she does the booking appt at 10 weeks. It could be worth finding out what days yours is at your surgery then ask the reception to put you through on the phone or get a message to her.

@marmitecheesetoast you are my hero for still managing to go to work, I have been off sick for 3 weeks as can barely move off the sofa due to sickness 🤢 I think the bands have made a bit of difference for me, definitely worse when not wearing them

Rachybiscuit26 · 12/11/2019 16:45

I saw my midwife today for what I thought was the initial history taking etc but I met just one of the midwives, got handed my green notes, they filled a form to book my scan(which will come through the post) and has rebooked me for my bloods and history taking on 29th nov. She has said my scan is due over xmas with a date range of 17th dec-7th jan. If its after xmas me and DH are going to book an early private scan. Nausea is overwhelming in a morning and brushing my teeth is so challenging. Yuk. Fingers crossed we all cross the first trimester ok.

EPSpartyof3 · 12/11/2019 17:29

@rachybiscuit26
Aww that’s exciting is this your first ??

EPSpartyof3 · 12/11/2019 17:31

@marmitecheesetoast aww it’s okay thank you thou! Ya I go tmrw at 145 I’ll know how things are doing I’ll be 8+2

Magpiefeather · 13/11/2019 02:07

@marmitecheesetoast glad it’s not just me! Dd keeps having to prod me awake to finish her story. We haven’t told her yet, I’ve just said my tummy is feeling funny and I feel sick. She’s seen me being sick (usually standing over my shoulder, nothing like a bit of personal space is there?!) and I tell her when I’m constantly snacking that it’s to help stop me feeling sick. So every time I go in the kitchen it’s “mummy sick?” Bless her.

Going to try and wait til after the scan to tell her. Even then it seems like such a long time for a toddler to wait but as we’ll be telling everyone else it only seems fair.

I feel bad for moaning now as the midwife called me back today! Hooray! I’m in the system! She was very lovely and is coming to do my booking appointment at home on 25 nov so similar timing to you ladies too.

Feel relieved now !

Like @Cornishbumpkin I would definitely say the sickness bands take the edge off, but they weren’t quite as magic as I was secretly hoping! I hope they help you.

marmitecheesetoast · 13/11/2019 09:29

Aw thank you @Cornishbumpkin although I’m sure there are people much more sick than me! Have you had to tell your work now then? Hope the sickness passes for you soon. It really is the worst feeling isn’t it.

Good luck today @ESpartyof3

@Magpiefeather Ah I see, I thought you meant you’d told her. Aw that’s very sweet. My DD doesn’t seem particularly phased by my being sick (luckily) and every time I go into the kitchen she instantly demands a snack - she’s snack obsessed!! So I end up trying to hide when I’m having a snack which is impossible as she sniffs me out! She’s got some sort of built-in snack radar 😂 I think I maybe need to start lowering my expectations with what I can do with her on my two days at home with her as after being at work for the first 3 days of the week I’m knackered. Think I tried to do too much with her last week and ended up struggling to get through the day and feeling really really rough.

I’m on countdown to private scan, it’s next Monday

Cornishbumpkin · 13/11/2019 11:40

@marmitecheesetoast I've told my line manager as I'm good friends with her and the sick note says morning sickness lol. Good luck with your private scan

@Magpiefeather glad you've got you appointment sorted. How lovely that she comes to your house too!

Magpiefeather · 13/11/2019 11:58

@marmitecheesetoast I know it’s like a superpower isn’t it? Mine can hear the biscuit tin open from the next room Hmm

@Cornishbumpkin I thought so too! And so much easier!

showmewhatyougot · 13/11/2019 12:07

Nearly 7 weeks today & I had my first ungraceful moment! Went to move the compost food bag outside and the smell made me vomit onto my feet! Happy Wednesday everyone!

thirteen92 · 13/11/2019 12:16

I had an internal scan done on Monday, they located a gestational sac measuring less than 5 weeks. A few hours later I started to bleed red fresh blood. Only when I wiped, not enough to wear a sanitary pad. I then woke up yesterday with the most horrific cramps and pains. I managed on a hot water bottle and paracetamol. Pain has gone but bleeding turned to brown quite quickly and I’m still bleeding brown. I’m petrified I’ve had a miscarriage. Phoned EPAU but they won’t scan me any earlier than 28th November which is when my next scan is booked for anyway to check that it’s growing properly. I don’t know what to do or think. I think I’ve miscarried and I’ve got to wait to be told that on 28th November!

Cornishbumpkin · 13/11/2019 12:26

@thirteen92 I'm so sorry that must be so scary for you! Fingers crossed everything is ok, could you speak to your GP to see if they can get it moved any sooner? Sending big hugs

@showmewhatyougot gosh that just made me laugh out loud, you poor thing! Oh the joys of hormones

Magpiefeather · 13/11/2019 12:44

@thirteen92 I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through such a worrying time and are being told to wait - that sounds so tough. Everything crossed for you. In the meantime have you got real life support to lean on?

thirteen92 · 13/11/2019 12:53

@Magpiefeather

I have yes. My husband is sick of talking about it and me worrying. No one can help me or give me any answers :( This has all been going on for such a long time and I just want an answer.

Glomum77 · 13/11/2019 13:22

@thirteen92 i am so sorry you are going through this. How stressful. How many weeks are you? Is the reason they are not scanning again because they want to give the pregnancy time to progress? Can u possibly refer yourself to a different early pregnancy unit and get another scan? Maybe attend via A+E who can refer you ?

StrawberryGoo · 13/11/2019 14:26

thirteen92

I am so sorry to hear that, the waiting must be awful. How far along did you think you were at the scan? Lots of people bleed in early pregnancy and go on to have healthy pregnancies. If it wasn’t enough for a pad then that’s a good sign - my doctor told me less than your normal period is unlikely to be a miscarriage. I know it just be awful but all hope is not lost Flowers

LassoOfTruth · 13/11/2019 16:00

How are you all today ladies? I feel really sorry for those of you who are suffering with the nausea. I seem to be one of the lucky ones who only feels a little bit sick around strong smells. My work canteen is not a good place for me to be at the moment (why is it literally always curry day, why?!!)
Got my dating scan re-booked for 10th Dec - not too long to go, even if it feels like ages. As suspected, the midwife told the hospital the wrong due date (should be 23rd June, she'd put 20th July or something) Good to know some things never change.
My boobs seem nowhere near as sore this second time around, and also (sad face) haven't gotten any bigger. Quite enjoyed the novelty of that last time, even if it was only temporary! Weird. I'm definitely just as tired though. Fell asleep while reading to 2 year old last night, at 7.15 pm. Oh dear! Keep on going on mums-to-be, and little beans!

babymama19 · 13/11/2019 16:36

I'm due 20th June 2020!! Baby number 1👶🏻 my symptoms have been awful, so much sickness and nausea and sore boobs!😫

Bikbikmum · 13/11/2019 20:16

Hello everyone, 7+3 , still no nausea. However I suffer from low blood pressure. I had passed out today while I was travelling from work to home. All of a sudden my blood pressure was dropped and I woke up a lot of people around me helping (thankfully). Similar case happened, 10 days ago while I was at home but I managed to go to bed, didnt fall down. Does anyone else experience low blood pressure? I will ask about this to my midwife but I am a bit concerned.

Blizy · 15/11/2019 11:45

How is everyone?
Goodness Bikbikmum I hope you're feeling better?

Nausea and vomiting have ramped up for me this week, i had to stop the car 4 times working 10 mins to puke on my way to work. I gave up on the 5th stop and returned home! I couldn't face a day of that at work, I'm a childcare practitioner and work with 0-2 year olds, there's no way I'd have managed today! Instead I'm in bed watching the crown.

Cornishbumpkin · 15/11/2019 13:41

@Bikbikmum that's sounds aweful, hope you feeling better. I've had a few dizzy moments if I haven't eaten but not as bad as your seems to be. Need to make sure your drinking lots to help.

@Blizy that sounds rough, definitely made the right choice to turn back, enjoy a well deserved rest day. My nausea is driving me crazy, I'm only vomiting once or twice every other day but got constant nausea. Trailing my third anti sickness med so I can hopefully get back to work!

Bikbikmum · 15/11/2019 14:21

@Cornishbumpkin @Blizy thank you! I start monitoring my blood pressure and blood sugar.. my b presure tends to be low and b sugar is on the lower end too. I note it all down to show my midwife later on..
