J20, you're amazing! You need to keep up this reputation as superwoman indeed!!

LES glad you're a bit better anyway.

BB: I watched the early days of this year's and gave up, so haven't watched the final. Am off to bed now.

Winnie the pooh, you're so organized! I don't even know what sort of bag to take.. I guess I ought to start planning, since I'm not stopping work for another 7 weeks (7 weeks!!!) and due in 9 weeks.

Still thinking of you tonight and tomorrow Floria. Hugs.

j20baby · 31/08/2007 21:39

choc, am only joking, i can be the worst mother in the world, especially when tired, i'll probably end up burning myself out and being sectioned.

FT-sorry sweetie, meant to say earlier that i'm thinking of you especially {{{hugs}}} to you xx

i'm off to bed too now, night girls, hope you all sleep well

j20 has inspired me to join you - was afraid of butting in before. Anyway, due 10th Oct and lacking in inspiration to carry on with pelvic floor exercises. Anybody there with me?

Been really good for last 2 months, but have totally slacked in last week. Still not sure if i'm doing it right, despite reading loads of descriptions. I guess squeezing it all together has to be doing some good, right?

Anyway, having now joined am rudely going to bed (to do my execrcises!) But am now on maternity leave (yippee), so hopefully will have more time to join in

MrsFish · 31/08/2007 22:04

Chocolate hobnob - thanks for asking how I am doing I have been in all day with ds (waiting for deliveries) and spending money on the tinternet like its going out of fashion Felt too tired to do much else after the early start and disturbed sleep last night. Ds has been very whiny and crying over the slightest thing, but also off his food so he must be a bit off colour still.

J20 - sorry you are feeling crap, but can still think about taking on a new project. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Winnie - my bags are pretty much packed too... HOW MUCH STUFF? although the way things are going for me atm I am a bit up in the air as to whether I will be in for a short time or a long time. Damn the mw for telling me I may be breech and the hospital for making me wait over two weeks for a scan. I am going to play merry hell on monday and insist they see me sooner, it doing my head in not knowing for certain

Alicet - I hope you feel better tomorrow too. Off to bed myself after I have finished this post, feeling very uncomfortable sitting up, not sure whether its because of BH or LO's position.

FloriaTosca and Inzi - hope you both feel a bit better tomorrow too.

Well I really must go to bed, I need to lie down, been sitting in this position for too long now and my back, hips. bum and thighs are starting to ache. Probably won't be around much over the weekend, as I have my mum and two aunts coming to stay, really looking forward to it but have so much to do in the morning before they get here, as I have been too lazy to do it today.

Have a good weekend everyone

inzi-not sure about the urinary symptoms, but it does sound like you could have it with the cramps when do you find out whether you 've got shingles or not, is it just a waiting game?

well, dd was up at stupid o clock as she wanted to play out with her friend, who apparantly is still in bed, round here they seem to be out playing till late and then not get up in a morning, i refuse to let dd do this, bad evil mummy that i am!

right, going to get ready to go see about college, have a nice day everyone

Welcome Orangecat! I'm not sure if I'm doing those pelvic exercises right either. And I forget all the time...

Mrs Fish, you're right to call the hospital and play hell. How can they make you wait 2 weeks? I have to say I find it almost impossible to tell where baby is. I know it's moved lower; I can tell mainly from bump, but also because sometimes it feels like baby is dancing on my bladder. (Nice) I guess the midwife is right that it's been starting to engage. Anyway hope the visitors are fun and helpful rather than stressful, and that DS gets back onto his food!

Inzi, glad about the spots, sorry about the pain! Ouch. How's your grandparents now? and your MIL? My grandmother went out to a party last night (most reluctantly, but still). So she's 91, had 2 falls in last 2 months, and yet still had a wilder Friday night than me!

Katsch, I'm with you on names by the way. We went through so many and either hated them, knew someone very well with that name and so felt that for us it sort of belonged to them, or it didn't go with the surname... We don't know the sex either so it was double trouble.

I'm trying to sort out issues with my name at the mo. Got married in 2006, decided not to change my name because I need my maiden name for professional purposes, and now realize I want all of us to have the same name so have changed my passport and am changing bank details etc; I still will keep my old name at work, which seems to be legally fine. I'm confused now though - I actually prefer my maiden name, but I do want us to share a family name, so I guess I'll have to adjust!!

J20, you could send some energy up north!
Floria, hugs again.

Have a nice Saturday, all.

j20baby · 01/09/2007 09:37

whoops meant to say, the last few nights i keep dreaming i'm in labour, in last nights i had a show and then the umbilical cord fell out, and i walked for miles with it hanging out -am getting more and more terrified about the labour, really need to try and get a hypnotherapy cd or something(possibly a large bottle of vodka)

also my hands and feet are swollen and fizzy again, its so annoying as i can't hold things properly.

right really am off now

OP posts:
orangecat · 01/09/2007 09:47

Did my pelvics last night

Wierd dreams J2O - got to be some kind of anxiety about labour coming out.

Loving this crap summer - nice not to be overheating.

Choc - think you will eventually get over the name thing. I have almost unpronouncable surname (and one which is sure for some playground ridicule when DD and baby grow up), but I too wanted us to share one. Kept my maiden name at work, though. Much easier than spelling my real one out to people and explaining where it is from on a daily basis.

Been a bit of a supermum this morning (don't worry, not normally like this - must be nesting instinct kicking in). Done 2 dishwasher loads, cleaned kitchen, tidied up and made a cake with DD. So v pleased with myself.

Am embarking on potty training with DD today (2.4). Fingers crossed it goes well. Trying v hard to avoid 2 lots of changing nappies when this little one arrives

lisad123 · 01/09/2007 10:14

Morning all

J20 I had a weird dream last night, to be honest it was horrible. I found DH in bed with another woman and he told me I was only his washer woman and ice cream spooner . I trust him completely, so no idea what that was about!!

Choc: I didnt want to change mine at all either. I preferred my maidian name and kept it for a while so not to confuse the school kids i worked with, but gave in in the end, you'll get used to it.

Im off top do last load of baby linked shopping, final things for labour bag, stock up freezer and buy some rasberry leaf tablets. It suddenly seems so close when I think Tanisha was born 2 weeks from now in my last pregnancy. This little one has defo dropped, I can breath normally again, so not stuck up in my ribs.

Hope your all well. LES hows the pain
today?

MrsF any luck with scan? I dont understand why its a problem, they can check with the little hand held scanners they have on the ward. (some woman was in the hospital being checked for same thing when i was there) They have to do a turn before 38 weeks if you want one, so need to know asap surely.

Inzi hope your feeling better. When do you find out if it is shingles? Poor you

Hi to anyone i missed
Lisa

orangecat - welcome!! you do the same, and I'll hook you up with somebody too.

buffy - you hang on in there ... this baby's not due 'til next month ...

OMG ... our babies are due next month!!

must go, ds is having a mega-whinging session as I won't let him watch the tv! ... stern mammy face on ...

alicet · 01/09/2007 12:30

Hello ladies!

have read all messages but can't remember what everyone said - most sound like you're doing a bit better though apart from buffy - big hugs to you x

Inzi symptoms of a urine infection are burning pain when you wee, needing to go more often (frequency) and needing to go RIGHT NOW when you go(urgency), foul smelling cludy urine and crampy pains like you describe. So pains could be from the infection or I guess bh's?

Welcome orange!

I kept my surname for work for the first year then it seemed like too much effort having two names so changed when I rotated to a new hospital (we change to different places every year) as that seemed a good time to choose. I actually prefer my married name so all good!

Anyway ds is sleeping so dh and I are off to sort out our garage and loft. Furniture was delivered this am too - yippee!

Prob about later....

Thanks to you ALL so much for your thoughts and support...I really do appreciate it so very much...I am surprisingly calm today, only one teary moment talking to my Mum on the phone this morning...I definately identified the misery with the day rather than the date; I barely stopped yelling yesterday because it was the friday after the August bank holiday and seem to have got the worst out of it of my system (or dehydrated myself so much I've run out of tears) but though today is the actual "date" I'm relatively calm (I just hope I didn't affect this LO with yesterdays excess emotion)...poor Dh got a guilt trip when he got home and saw the state I was in, because he hadn't remembered and then felt awful for forgetting and being away. But getting him home was exactly what I needed...hopefully, as Inzi said, next year won't hurt so much....having said all that I'm getting cholked up knowing that you are all so caring.. so I'm going to get off the subject.

I'm Buffys' buddy, she texted me this morning to tell me she was going in to be seen..I'll let you know if I hear more.

Lisa; lo at the "washer woman and icecream spooner"..the things the subconcious can invent are hysterical..glad you are feeling a bit better

Inzi; thrilled for you that it doesn't look like shingles.Hope the urinary tract thing/whatever it is, gets sorted soon.Glad the grandparents are getting a bit better (though it is a shame they wont accept some nursing help)Hope your mil improves faster than expected, it is shocking how such a little thing as not managing to swallow something properly can escalate to this extent.

Welcome Orange

Choc; with you on the maiden name thing...have had to keep mine for professional reasons (Equity etc) but have been slowly changing things over the last few months...can't change bank account, I get paid in professional name...but passport will be next....but it is a bit of a pinta isn't it?

Sorry everyone else for not mentioning you individually...brain isn't holding on to all I read after writing so much...luv 'n stuff to you all.

j20baby · 01/09/2007 14:34

hi everyone

qwell i'm pretty pi**ed oof, went to college, had to walk miles with dd whining, filled in all the paperwork, then they told me they don't take babies till 3 months, which is no good to me they suggested i get someone else to have lountil then, but i will be bf, so wanted her near me, oh well, will have to do it next year, the good thing is, they're happy for me to start on level 3 instead of level 2 as i did a level accounts last year, so thats a year less than i was expecting.

inzi-great news that your spot and pain free today, bet thats a bit of a relief, when i get BH i get tightenings bui don't think you have to have them, not sure, someone else might know.

lisa-sorry but pmsl at washer woman too, some dreams are really real aren't they, i can be affected for day's by some of them.

orange-good luck with potty training

ejt-i'm happy to have more than one text buddy too if you need extra people, its probably best to have 2 each anyway, just in case 2 of us are in labour at same time!

buffy-good luck if you are in labour, let us know, am thinking of you

hi alice, have fun sorting garage out don't do too much

FT-glad you feel calmer, although, if you need to rant, feel free, lo will be fine, mine is going to hate getting a car with me, as i get road rage, so she must feel the tension! sending you love and hugs and hope your doing something nice with DH today and spending some time together

OP posts:
lisad123 · 01/09/2007 17:01

well im glad i made some of you laugh with the washer woman dream .
I went to asda to get my bounty bag, they had none and they also had none of the sterlisiers I wanted because their on offer.
I really dont want to spend a load of money on something that wont get much use at all, oh well keep looking but have put a wanted on here too

Hope you have all had a good afternoon.
lisa

lisad123 · 01/09/2007 17:07

aggghhhh I have just looked at my feet. I look like I have elephant feet I check Bp thats fine, any suggestions on how to get them back to normal please.

Now im a washer woman that scoops icecream while looking like I have man feet and a beer gut!!! Im so attractive right now! LOL
Thanks
L

ejt1764 · 01/09/2007 17:48

I can only suggest sitting with your feet up ... it won't make them any better, but it may stop them getting worse ... welcome to the elephant foot club!

j20baby · 01/09/2007 17:51

Oh Lisa, they had them in my Asda yesterday! and postage probably wouldn't have been much coz the microwave ones are quite light. i got one off here FFP, the Avent plug in one, only cost me £7 and it seems pretty decent otherwise i prob would have got the microwave one.

put your feet up is all i can suggest,(no washer-ing ) it must be the weather as i have been like that on and off the last couple of days.

i've got a bit of a dodgy stomach today, my friend is back off her hol and wanted to know if i wanted to get chinese, but don't think can face it-maybe pizza

i really fancy some pear cider and poptarts, woohoo, my first craving
unfortunately, i can't be bothered to go get any poptarts but i do have some of the cider, may have a sip.

have a nice evening all

Inzi - glad things seem to be settling so lieklihood of shingles is vanishing...

Floria - Glad today wasn't too bad and that dh was the tonic you needed last night...

Ejt - I'm also happy to have more than one text buddy if needed...

Um.... Just off to see who else said stuff!

Well Dh and I got LOADS of sorting done - loft and garage and all of lo's clothes while ds was sleepiong so feeling very pleased with ourselves if a little tired! Now waiting for loads of stuff to be collected through freecycle - all the stuff we put in the loft when we moved in 3 years ago and had forgotton about!

Off to put ds to bed then will be back.....

Katsh · 01/09/2007 19:07

Lisa, I never bought a steriliser for my other two. I used Milton tablets - very cheap from a pharmacy, and an ice cream container with a lid. It's not as quick as a microwave but does the job, and costs pence rather than pounds. I needed to sterilise quite a lot in the end with my 2nd as she was on a lot of medication and I needed syringes, spoons, pots etc and the ice cream container saw us through it all! I will be doing the same this time.
