Alice; just got through teaching 1 teenager, I've got 2 more coming at 5 and 5.30 then that is it for the day...I think a session of aqua natal at 7pm is called for...I really don't want to be weeping on my newer friends up here...my old friends could cope but they are too far away...a bit of exercise and total strangers will knock some sense into me....truth be told I don't even want my Mum (she's had enough this year) I just want Nick home. Crikey I sound like a 2 yr old! I dearly hope this isn't imprinting on the LO. But thanks for the hugs, have a gentle one in return for the nausea, it really is the pits at times.

Katch; so with you on the name choosing indeed! I went through a book of 7000 names wrote down 50 of each gender and still cant whittle it down any further...and whenever I suggest one someone pulls a face! I'm just hoping for inspiration when Lo arrives!

Floria, I got a book from the library entitled 40,001 baby names. I read at least 20,000 ( we know the sex) and we still can't agree on one. We had a shortlist but we both keep changing our minds. I think we'll just have to go for one and not think about the subject again. We haven't dared canvas any other opinions on the names as there is sure to be someone who " went to school with a xxxx and they were really horrible" Hope your pupils have been ok and your husband makes it home soon. Hang in there. xx

TheLadyEvenstar · 31/08/2007 18:57

Evening all ... quickie from me tonight - I have a date with a chinese takeaway and BB!

lissie - lovely to see you on the thread again - I think about you often and wonder how you're getting on - take care - and have fun ttc!

Floria - am just sending the biggest of hugs to you, and I hope dh gets home soon. Thinking of you! I have to admit that I get a date / day thing too - my 1st mc happened on Eid el-Fitr last year (working in a school where 35% of the pupils are Muslim, you get to know the imprtant dates in the Islamic calendar!) - so, as well as feeling sad on the actual date, I feel very sad on Eid itself too.

everybody suffering with indigestion - it's horrible isn't it ... I've been taking my bottle of Gaviscon to bed with me the past few nights ... but I find that mint tea helps ... get a few mint leaves, pour boiling water on them, leave for 5 mintes or so, then drink - I leave the mint in the cup to allow it to carry on infusing - I find it settles my stomach whether I'm feeling sick or indigestion-y.

inzi - you and your family are really going through it - big hugs to you and all your family.

lisad and buffy - you are going through the mill - I'm sending you love too!

alice - I'm officially finishing to go on Maternity leave next week too ... although I've got 5 antenatal appointments booked next week, it means I'll be in on Monday, then not again until Thursday afternoon! Am looking forward to finishing properly, and being able to indulge myself a bit!

ggg - my midwife told me that they have more births in September (late) and early October than any other time of year ... something to do with Christmas and New Year apparently!

monalisa, mumpbump, j20, Les, Katsh ... hiya

I had open house at mine this afternoon for all the girls and their assorted children that I met when doing antenatal classes when pg with ds - there were 6 of us (from the 8 in the class), and between us we now have 9 children (and my bump) - it was a tad noisy in our back garden! It was lovely to see them, but I'm tired now ... my chinese takeaway and BB are waiting!

Have a good evening all, take care

FloriaTosca · 31/08/2007 19:23

Thanks Mump and Inzi
Inzi you and your Dad are right I know...I just hope that this first anniversary is the worst. I'm so sorry about your Mum..how dreadful, I can thoroughly understand her panic but how dreadful to have caused more damage..your family are really in the wars at the moment..you must feel like someone has put the evil eye on you! And you possibly having shingles !!!! Oh Lord, I do hope not, that is the last thing you want!..my MIL had them 2 yrs ago and was unwell for ages! I so hope it isnt anything like that. Good news that Lo is doing so well though...at least there is that silver lining to look forward to.
Greedy your feeling low too? Goodness we all need putting in a sack and shaking up as my gran would have said!

FloriaTosca · 31/08/2007 19:30

Hi - excuse me for the intrusion - I am from the Feb Post Natal thread - I have a few autumn / winter baby coats that are too small for DS - I have listed them on the For Sale board but the keep getting lost in the load of stuff - so I have linked here.... here

thanks!

ChocolateHobnob · 31/08/2007 20:14

Hi all

Inzi - so sorry about the shingles! Hope you recover fast.

Alicet - hope you sleep better tonight! Am envious of you and ejt1764 - you're nearly finished work!

Floria - virtual hugs and hope things improve.

Mrs Fish - how are you doing?

EJT - enjoy the Chinese!!

LES - how are you doing this evening?

Greedy - I don't know how often I'll see the mw near the end. We keep hearing stories about the critical midwife shortage - guess we're experiencing it!

I was working at home today and although theoretically that's easier I ended up zonked and had to get Pizza Express pizza from Tesco for dinner. I had my usual tossing and turning sort of night which probably explains the tiredness today. Thankfully it's Saturday tomorrow and we've got an empty day apart from collecting my glider chair (!) and car seat. Once I've got the chair noone'll be able to prise me off it! It's intended for LO's room but I think it'll live downstairs for now!

Bon courage everyone - you're nearly there! September tomorrow, so close to October. I guess that's quite exciting. Oh and enjoy BB for those of you who're watching!

alicet · 31/08/2007 20:20

Inzi ? sorry to hear you might have shingles. Hope your pain isn?t so bad tonight. Good news lo?s trace was good though! Sorry too to hear about your dh?s mum but good news your Gran is making a slow recovery. Thinking of you and your family?

Greedy ? sorry to hear you?re having to work so hard. If you feel half as cr*p as me at the mo I really don?t envy you. I don?t have any mw appts anymore ? I do have one with my consultant in 2 weeks though to arrange my section date and apparently they take it from there. She did say though that if I needed anything I could get in touch.

Floria - Hope the exercise and stranger therapy worked its wonders and that your dh is home soon. Will be thinking of you both tomorrow honey. Sure it will be very tough but hoping your lo wriggling away will take some of the pain away for you (even though I know they won?t replace Robyn).

Katsch ? we had the same baby name book as well as another! We have managed to get it down to 2 names (at least we know we?re expecting a boy!) but are now at total stalemate as to which one we will choose with dh pro one and me the other!!

Ejt ? enjoy your evening ? I am watching bb too although there is no way I will make it to the second show ? will vid that for tomorrow! We will have to celebrate together next Friday!

Hello to everyone else!

I'm feeling a little better now thankfully. Fingers crossed for better sleep tonight for all of us who are struggling with lack of sleep at the mo...

alicet · 31/08/2007 20:22

cross posted Chochobnob! SOrry to hear you had a rough night too. If you're anything like me working at home is LOADS harder when you're knackered and there is the temptation of bed and sofa calling! look after yourself - chat soon x

alicet · 31/08/2007 20:33

Floria - did you manage to make the auctionsniper work for ebay in the end?

TheLadyEvenstar · 31/08/2007 20:35

CHN,
Thanks for asking am ok still got niggling pains in my back and lower stomach.

Had a boiled egg earlier which made me vomit so now am hungry again lol....but dubious about eating anything. But am happily drinking coke lol.

Might have some weetabix in a while as i like them.

alicet · 31/08/2007 20:46

LES glad you're feeling better hon...

WinnieThePooh · 31/08/2007 20:48

OMG, you lot can talk.

I have already forgotten what everyone has posted. I hope that those of you that are feeling unwell feel better soon.

I don't know how many times I have packed and repacked my bags for the hospital, but I think I an sorted now. Got the baby's things in the changing bag, another bag for the birth and another for if I need to stay in. Hospital bag is mainly towels as I really want a water birth, but I have put a nightie in as well, just in case I can't use the pool, still to get some snacks to put in there and will take a flask of ice with us too.

THis little one has been doing somersaults all day, so I have no idea which way she is lying. Not seeing midwife now until after my scan at hospital on 10th September to check placenta has moved.

Not written birth plan yet, but will do that after I have seen the consultant.

Take care everyone and have a good weekend.

lisad123 · 31/08/2007 20:55

evening all

I cant believe how many of us are suffering Only a few weeks left (well those of us that are begining of Oct)

I had a lovely rested afternoon. My best friend came round with her dds. Her oldest is 6months older than my Tanisha but they sometimes fight and we ended up with her dd pushing Tani over and Tani throwing her shoe at this girls face Tanisha never fights back when this girl normally gets hold of her, so was tempted to say well done i didnt, she was told off.
We also made choc cakes with the girls and i got to cuddle friends dd2 who is 5 months
Takeaway tonight so no cooking but have had to de lice DD again hopefully new school will be better with headlice. I say bring back nit nurse

My asprin had to contain latolose as im only allowed the sort that break down in bowels, so spends a lot of time on loo

i didnt get a chance to put my number down for a text buddy. Am i too late??

j20baby · 31/08/2007 21:14

evening girls

sorry everyone is feeling crap, i am too, been lurking on and off today, so read all the posts, just don't have the energy to reply to them all, but am thinking of you all.

inzi-really hope you haven't got shingles, i've heard they can be very painful, so what you don't need right now!

i'm so breathless and hot and swollen. dd was in my bed all night, after having a bad dream that i had my male friend in my bed and was about to put a 'sex bomb' nightie on, she was very disturbed by it, bless her she's been up and down today, think she's upset about the cat and also the time for her to start her new school is looming, so she's emotionally drained me today.

i've also decided to start college in Sep, a full day a week to do AAT(accounts) as i don't really want to wait till next year, so need to go tommorrow to try and sort out a creche place, gluteon(sp) for punishment or what?!

i don't do BB, am watching a repeat of Judge John Deed

alicet · 31/08/2007 21:18

Glad you've had a good day today Lisa - need it after your recent run of being in the hospital every 5 minutes!

Sure ejt will be able to set you up with a text buddy. She had sorted it all out before so will be able to be the best person to get you sorted I'm sure...

Winnie you have me worried now! Have got a few bits and pieces for my bag but not packed yet. I ahd a list of everything I took last time most of which I wouldn't bother with this time. but its on my old laptop and I can't get onto it! Gutted! Will try again tomorrow but if I can't sort it then I will just have to start from scratch!

alicet · 31/08/2007 21:21

J20 cross posted! Sorry to hear you are feeling rough too. And can't BELIEVE you are going to start a course in Sept!!! Are you MAD woman! Good luck to you if thats what you want but personally I couldn't imagine anything worse!!!

j20baby · 31/08/2007 21:26

alice-i know, but i figure if i can't manage it, i'll just quit and start again next year, it'll take a few years to get to the level that i want, so don't really want to waste a year, its only 1 day out of a week

OP posts:
alicet · 31/08/2007 21:27

Well good on you honey if thats what you want. You have more balls than me! And you're right - if it gets too much you can always start again next year and won't have lost anything....

alicet · 31/08/2007 21:29

Of to bed now lovely ladies... Too tired to watch the next installment of bb. Catch up tomorrow xxx

j20baby · 31/08/2007 21:29
