A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

@JBFletcherstypewriter just a quick reply bedtime is getting earlier for champoo, I'm tucked up already). But oh my god! Twins is quite something, thank goodness your other little one will be over 2 and should be out of nappies by then, potentially nearly reaching nursery too. But that is fantastic news, twins are so special , always wanted a twin myself, fabulous day for you and your family

@JBFletcherstypewriter I honestly stopped using a pushchair by 2 most of the time, honestly you won't want a pushchair for three! My little one is 19 months too and she will definitely mainly be walking by the time this baby comes.

@JBFletcherstypewriter
Ahhhh twins ! How wonderful! X double love x

Helensss · 08/10/2019 19:43

@JBFletcherstypewriter eeeek! How exciting,
I had a dream we were having twins last night. We have two sets in my mums family and my husband is a twin so you never know 😬 x

JBFletcherstypewriter · 08/10/2019 20:53

Thanks everyone!!

@NiffleTime I was approaching the scan today with two minds, either being told it was an ectopic or it was twins, I don’t know what’s been in my head the last few days but I just kept thinking about it... I even got a bit upset at about 4am this morning thinking about my DD and hoping she wouldn’t feel a bit pushed aside when we have two babies - so strange... I didn’t have any symptoms during my first pregnancy, (so those not experiencing anything don’t worry!!) I think I was nauseous maybe twice throughout the whole thing so the fact that I’ve been feeling mega rough and ridiculously tired the last couple of weeks was making me think that because I was getting a double whammy of hormones that it could be a reason, seems I was right!

My DH’s Aunt and Uncle are twins on his Mums side and 2 of my first cousins on my Mums side have had twins so in a way it’s on both sides although from what I know I think it’s more prevalent from the Dads history..

@ChampooPapi my little one has been going to nursery for a few months now so at least I have 2 free days a week at the moment to rest properly... she’s been walking for months but I don’t think she’d walk for very long alongside me.. as I said to my DH I’ll just have to stay at home Grin

We went out on a date night for the first time since DD was born only last week ... looks like we won’t be out again for another few years Grin

Guys I'm sure I'm being ridiculous. But I'm panicking. I made a lovely Thai green curry this morning, left it brewing in the slow cooker all day. Was so excited for it and had a few mouthfuls then panicked - am I allowed lemon grass?! It's only a little that I've eaten, but I've read that it's not advised? And now after everything we've been through already I'm worried!!! Someone tell me I'm being mental please...

mrsf1204 · 08/10/2019 21:28

Ok just phoned my midwife she just laughed at me 😂😂😂🤦🏼‍♀️ honestly. I'm a nightmare.

facevalue · 08/10/2019 21:29

@mrsf1204 you will be fine . the human body is not that fragile x relax 😘👍🏼

sazzlerazzle · 08/10/2019 21:33

@mrsf1204 lemongrass is fine. Honestly unless it’s on the NHS site as something you should avoid then go for it :)

mrsf1204 · 08/10/2019 22:29

Thanks @sazzlerazzle and @facevalue - it's silly the things we worry about, I think where we've had such an up and down start and the fact I'm already an anxious person it's just all building up. I'm looking forward to seeing the midwife for the first time on Saturday to have someone I can talk to about it all and for it all to feel a bit more real. She said the same just trust the NHS as you can find some scary things online. I really need to stop googling everything! Anyone else the same? I know it's the worst thing to do but I can't help it... my best friend said to get my husband to disconnect the internet 😳😂

Moongirl10 · 08/10/2019 22:42

@Doodlebug321 yes to the boob thing! Seems to be worse in the mornings for me!

Feeling constantly nauseous and my stomach feels full of acid! My pre natal vitamins are making me queasy too Confused

firsttimer1980 · 09/10/2019 06:53

@Doodlebug321 yes!!! I have the sorest boobs in the world, and have done for the past 6 weeks. I'm 10+6 and just wish it would ease off. Worst is when you've not worn support at night (like I forgot to last night) and you first sit up. It's excruciating!

Is everyone managing with work? I'm ok for a few days and then I get exhausted and just want to stay in bed. But feel so guilty for taking time off work...

Wishful30 · 09/10/2019 07:24

@firsttimer1980 I have not slept, at all last night 🤦🏻‍♀️
Dh left the heating on 20 so I've been in an oven all night!!
Kept waking up too hot. Drinking water so needing to pee, yet kicking the covers off meant I was cold 🙄

woollycat · 09/10/2019 07:33

Hi ladies! My morning sickness has hit a new low yesterday. I threw up 3 times and almost all of what I had eaten and drunk. I am worrying this is turning into the dreaded hyperemesis gravidarum. I am 7w+3, this trimester seems like it will never end!

@NiffleTime can I ask what anti sickness meds you got? My GP prescribed me metoclopramide but I know that one has very common horrendous side effects so I am not going to take them. I am speaking to the GP again today to see why they didn't prescribe antihistamines instead, as based on my research that's usually the first line.

firsttimer1980 · 09/10/2019 07:34

@Wishful30 oh no! Poor you! I sleep ok mostly. Crash really early in the evenings but means I wake up really early, trying to break the habit. Sounds like you need turn the heating down!
Are you working today or can you get a nap in later?

Wishful30 · 09/10/2019 07:37

@firsttimer1980 not a chance sadly. Leave home at 9:45. Not home till 7pm and working everyday till Saturday.
Only got Sunday off this week 😑

Raindancer411 · 09/10/2019 07:42

Open my eyes and the sick feeling continues :( My hubby is working from home today so he is dealing with food and drink for me, so I don't have to move too much. Got to get the son up and off to school yet.

ChampooPapi · 09/10/2019 07:56

@Moongirl10 I find liquid vitamins don't make me feel sick. 'better you' is a good brand but if you buy vitamin d separate make sure you dose right

NiffleTime · 09/10/2019 08:04

@woollycat I was given cyclizine, which seemed to stop the nausea by knocking me out, which is not drastically helpful to me since I asked for it so that I had more ability to leave the house! Gonna experiment a bit more and see if it has any effect if I make the effort to stay awake. The GP also only gave me 30, can take up to 3 a day, so i feel like I have to ration them as we have a lot of plans the week after next (made before I got pregnant!). Hope you can get one that works for you!

I am currently trying not to get out of bed as it’s like clockwork that I’ll be sick 5 minutes after I stand up 😂 I should just get it out of the way really but it’s just horrible knowing its coming, isn’t it?

november90 · 09/10/2019 08:16

Sorry if this is a bit gross guy but is anyone experiencing almost ewcm? It's been like this the whole time since just before I found out o was pregnant and it comes in little clumps and very stringy! It doesn't smell or anything... but not sure if that's 'normal' x

zoemelb · 09/10/2019 08:22

Had a lovely scan yesterday though, saw the heartbeat, and the baby wiggling every time i move my belly. Jump 2 days, to 9+2 today.

I feel bad complaining, but my nausea, bloat and back pain is so bad today and yesterday. Just really want to cry from tiredness and not be able to do anything much. Blush Hopefully it will get better at week 10. Sad

The yogurt at midnight does help lady. And love laughing cow cheese too. Grin Banana and bread also helps me to settle down the empty stomach in the morning.

Sunshine8888 · 09/10/2019 08:22

@november90 yep the discharge is not pleasant, I’ve been wearing a liner for weeks now, it got worse from week 9 onwards as well 🙈 i found it changes from stringy to just wet - not the most comfortable!

Sunshine8888 · 09/10/2019 08:23

Glad scan went well @zoemelb! I’m nervous for mine tomorrow eve

facevalue · 09/10/2019 08:25

@woollycat you poor thing. i took metoclopramide many times and it never gave me any side effects. i also took cyclizine and no side effects again. both these drugs are used daily by many people - it's like the paracetamol of antisickness drugs x i hope this reassures you xxx i hope it settles soon

@firsttimer1980 i had awfully sore boobs until 2 days ago - i'm 8+ 4 i wonder if things are setting for me, i also have much less nausea i can actually function a little better x

@Wishful30 i'm like you too hot too cold. i just have layers of thin blankets and add and remove all night.

@Moongirl10 how far are you? maybe things will settle soon - i eat a small plain greek yogurt before bed and if the heartburn is bad - they have it in all supermarkets honestly it's the only thing that worked if u don't want to take tablets- i have omeprazole but avoid taking it. highly recommend.

@mrsf1204 hahaha i think i might dry and die if i have no access to the net. you better try watching some positive youtube video about relaxing in pregnancy also try to keep busy or like you i overthink everything. these bloody hormones don't help x

@ChampooPapi @JBFletcherstypewriter i'm ashamed to say my DD is 25 months and 3 months ago we bought the nappy training pants and potty stickers and all but i just don't have the stamina at the mo to toilet train- my MUM and MIL both shocked my child is still in nappies as apparently we were all toilet trained by 1😭😭😭😭. then i just say i hope in few weeks the awful symptoms will ease then ill toilet train her😑😑😑

danielasummer · 09/10/2019 08:26

@november90 Yes! I've had this pretty much the whole way through. I asked my midwife and she said it was totally normal, my mucus plug forming and Google pretty much said the same. Just watch that it doesn't go yellow/green or smelly.
