@MunchyMunchkin I totally understand that, I was annoyed because I was told we would hear it today. My partner took time off work to come along and see me have my blood pressure taken basically!

MissPepper8 · 26/09/2019 18:19

we were told at the last appointment that we'd hear the heartbeat today then when we got there she said it's too early. I was very annoyed

That's so weird, maybe she couldnt be bothered? 16 week we got to hear DS although then (this was 2/3 years ago) she said she'd do it at certain weeks but if I wanted it every time I saw her I had to ask (she was so nice, she just always did it for me).

I dont think she's right though, you can buy dopplers yourself, there's someone I know who got an angelbeats doppler at 12 weeks and has been listening.

emmaclare83 · 26/09/2019 18:20

@ELW85 I hadn't thought of it, but maybe I will, just to quell my fears! I have enough anxiety going on with every little twinge! A little less wouldn't do any harm eh? Wink

Dinosauraddict · 26/09/2019 18:46

Hi everyone, crazy day at work today so just caught up!

Thanks @Cariad80 !
@emmaclare83 don't worry about your results if you can help it at all; your result is still low risk so try and focus on that.
@kelsnyp you have had one hell of a journey to get here. It took me a while plus intervention, but this is my first actual pregnancy (or even ovulation lol).
@Frillyfarmer my breast are majorly changing too but in reality I'm just finding that they're just getting bigger, particularly the areoles though - mine are now huge!! Slightly awkward.
@DaniX91 I'm really sorry your MW wouldn't let you hear heartbeat, mine found it at 16+1 and that was with an inexperienced student MW. I wasn't optimistic, but was actually impressed she was super quick!

Regarding feeling movement, I am fairly sure I felt baby yesterday for the first time twice. However today I have felt nothing. Is this normal??

DaniX91 · 26/09/2019 19:06

@MissPepper8 I'm not keen on mine tbh. She asked if I'm having any problems so I mentioned my hips and back and she just said, oh it sounds like sciatica. Then that was the end of that! I have thought about a doppler for at home but I'd be past myself if I couldn't find it.
@Dinosauraddict it was just annoying being told we'd hear it and looking forward to it for weeks to be then told no.

Dinosauraddict · 26/09/2019 19:20

I completely understand that @DaniX91, they didn't make me any promises in advance but I'm sure I would be disappointed in your shoes.

DaniX91 · 26/09/2019 19:22

@Dinosauraddict I suppose everything happens for a reason, I wouldn't have booked the private scan if we'd have heard it so it just means we're getting to see baby! We get a 4D sneak peek too!x

MissPepper8 · 26/09/2019 19:23

@DaniX91 Maybe that's a little bit why she didn't try prehaps she wasn't confident enough? I remember the first time with DS she couldn't find him at first and I panicked a bit.

Yeah i feel with you on that, with DS I had a few ladies and one wasn't great.. Left me half way through but I got a lovely mw after who I've seen booking in with this one.

Yvonne1988 · 26/09/2019 19:23

@Dinosauraddict I'm not sure iv felt anything today. After feeling all week but iv been up and about alot. Definitely normal this early on.
My partner's mum came round with a gender reveal balloon and confetti things today. I wasn't gonna do anything like that but I suppose I'll let the girls do it when they get home from school when we find out.

Jesskir89 · 26/09/2019 19:24

@whiskersonkittenss thank you I'm hope I'm better for Saturday I'm at the Manchester baby show. And that's a lovely cot glad to of helped! I'm going to try and have a drive up. @daniX91 sorry to put it this way but are you carrying extra weight? Because I am and my midwife didn't want to do mine this week at 15 weeks because of that she said it's sometimes harder to hear the heartbeat and that then stresses people out unnecessary.

ELW85 · 26/09/2019 19:56

@emmaclare83 - to be fair, your results are still low risk, but it’s a long time to be anxious, so if it can put your mind to rest; why not? 😊

Jesskir89 · 26/09/2019 19:57

I had my test 2 weeks ago tomorrow and still haven't had the results.... I'm getting a bit anxious now

DaniX91 · 26/09/2019 20:26

@MissPepper8 I'm glad u have a nice one this time😊.
@Jesskir89 I'm a size 12 hun, not skinny but I wouldn't really say I'm carrying excessive amounts of weight. Just means we get to know the sex sooner than expected anyway😊 x

Jesskir89 · 26/09/2019 20:48

@daniX91 no I definitely wouldn't say a size 12 was excess weight was just thinking of a reason why she might have said no. But good point :) we said we were going to find out the sex but are now in 2 minds

ineedanotherholiday · 26/09/2019 21:01

Anyone feeling like their bump has popped. I'm only 14 weeks with first baby, thought it'd be a while yet but seems really big today!

Yvonne1988 · 26/09/2019 21:07

@ineedanotherholiday I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and it popped this week for sure.

emmaclare83 · 26/09/2019 21:17

@ineedanotherholiday I have definitely popped over the last week! Bought my first pair of maternity leggings, and may live in them from now on Grin

avocadoincident · 26/09/2019 21:19

@DaniX91 I'm due on the 13th too!!!

Dinosauraddict · 26/09/2019 22:13

@ineedanotherholiday I'm 16+2 and my bump popped about 10 days ago.

whiskersonkittenss · 26/09/2019 22:37

anyone had constipation or bad wind so far? my stomach hurts tonight

MissPepper8 · 26/09/2019 23:15

@whiskersonkittenss I have been the other way round.. and my stomach is on/off agonny :(. How many weeks are you? I was really constipated at 12/13 weeks so I bought a bottle of lactose x

whiskersonkittenss · 26/09/2019 23:30

im 17+1 now. had constipation for 2 days and bad wind, then the complete opposite to constipation in the last half hour Blush I took some lactulose earlier but it shouldn't have caused this in a couple of hours. I drink plenty of water and eat fruit and veg too. I never feel like I've had a 'good' poo if that makes sense? @MissPepper8

MissPepper8 · 27/09/2019 00:33

@whiskersonkittenss It's horrible isn't it :(? Lactose with me can sometimes cause belly pains/gas. I try take the minimum amount and then add 5ml day after if I'm still bad. If you're hydrated and eating fibre it might be due to everything moving around and pressure xx

ELW85 · 27/09/2019 09:56

Morning all

Just got a call from the lab - the Harmony result is as low as it can be so we’re basically all good 🤞🏻
They didn’t tell me the sex, so DH and I can open the report together. I’m so happy/relieved, I cried!

MockingJay27 · 27/09/2019 10:44

@ELW85 that’s great news, so pleased for you.
You can relax now and just look forward to meeting your little one.
