Got my 16 week appointment this morning. I heard the heartbeat last week, but I'd like to record it this tine on my phone to show my daughter. If they do it.

ttc19 · 09/10/2019 09:44

@Yvonne1988 I did this too.. I didn't last time as I didn't know it was going to happen but I'm glad I did this time. It was lovely to show my daughter and my grandparents loved it too! X

Yvonne1988 · 09/10/2019 10:57

They did the heartbeat at my appointment. Didn't even ask she just said she was going to do it.

MockingJay27 · 09/10/2019 11:08

I saw my midwife this morning she said they don't listen to heartbeat until 25 weeks. But assured me a little bit of brown spotting is ok, just call if it turns red or heavy. But because I've had abit at 6 weeks and 9weeks it seems to be ok. 3 weeks until 20 week scan, it can't come quick enough x

ELW85 · 09/10/2019 11:11

@MockingJay27 - that’s great news then! If she’s not concerned, and the spotting seems fairly regular, maybe it’s just a hormonal bleed?
Those three weeks will hopefully fly over for you 😊

whiskersonkittenss · 09/10/2019 11:21

someone talk some sense into me. I really want a cigarette. im so stressed

sadtoday21 · 09/10/2019 11:27

Hi ladies! Do you mind if I join you? I've been lurking for a bit as I also have my first baby due in mid-March and was looking for some company from those at the same stage as me! I recognise a few of you from the penguin huddle board (that's where I've been due to previous losses), but I find myself more and more really wanting to enjoy the pregnancy and focus on positive things, rather than the past. I hope you don't mind me crashing here!

So, that being said, I won't give my whole back story but just say that I am 18 weeks tomorrow and expecting a little boy!! Very much want this first baby who is already much loved. I really related to all the posts about movement, as I've also been waiting anxiously to feel something! @Jesskir89 @ELW85 @MockingJay27 @SweetChillis I'm completely in the same boat as you - no movement, not even sure about flutterings, and already 18 weeks with first. I do have an anterior placenta though, which I read can block movement. I heard the hb at the midwife yesterday, but my 20 week scan is not for another 2 weeks, so really hoping to feel something before then! I hope you ladies also start feeling some movement soon, it must be the most amazing thing in the world! Xxx

Jesskir89 · 09/10/2019 13:34

@sadtoday21 welcome and the more the merrier :) @ELW85 I had a wobble this morning as the dog landed heavily on my stomach so had to ring the hospital they're not concerned as no pain or bleeding. Only 2 days til your appointment! @mockingjay27 hope you're feeling more positive today now :)

ELW85 · 09/10/2019 13:52

Welcome @sadtoday21, you’re in good company for any wobbles! I’m sure I had some flutters a while ago but none since. It’ll be nice to get some regular movements soon 😊

@Jesskir89 - oh no! I’m pleased you’re ok though and the hospital don’t need to see you. I know, can’t wait for it! I hope it goes well 😊

MunchyMunchkin · 09/10/2019 17:29

Welcome @sadtoday21 there are a few of us on here with previous losses so all in the same boat!
We have a Facebook group as well. Pm me if you want in.

atomcats · 09/10/2019 17:57

Hi everyone! Hope you don’t mind if I join? I’ve been lurking and following the thread for a while but not wanted to join “just in case...” but also now at the point of feeling better about things so would be nice to join in the conversation Smile

I’m 16+2 and due mid March. I hand my 16w midwife appointment this week which was lovely as we heard the heartbeat. Got a while yet til next scan so hoping this can carry me through before the worry returns! I am also eagerly awaiting any movements but as this is my first I think it will be a while yet...!

Yvonne1988 · 09/10/2019 18:08

@atomcats I'm 16+5 I think with my first it was about now I felt first movements. My scan is 1st of November. 3 weeks on Friday.

Jesskir89 · 09/10/2019 18:55

@ELW85 thank you how are you? @atomcats welcome I'm 16 plus 4 so very close 😊

atomcats · 09/10/2019 20:37

@Yvonne1988 oh wow, I assumed that it would be 20 weeks plus! And yes @Jesskir89 very close!

SweetChillis · 09/10/2019 21:21

Welcome @sadtoday21 you sound like you are roughly due the same time as me. I heard the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment so I know this little one is doing ok but it's such a anxious time waiting for those first movements. Future MIL did say I could be experiencing small flutters and just not realising they are the baby....I'm looking forward to knowing for sure that's what I'm feeling. There's plenty of support on this thread so you are in good company 😊

Jesskir89 · 09/10/2019 21:41

@dinosauraddict how was your scan x

jennabobs89 · 09/10/2019 21:57

Hello!!

16 weeks today for me with baby number 2! Currently running round after a 19 month old and beginning to feel like I must be mad to have them close together haha feel exhausted still wahoooo haha

sadtoday21 · 09/10/2019 23:16

Thanks @Jesskir89! Hope you are doing ok now after the incident with your dog, I think baby is very well cushioned in there and unlikely to feel a thing! Glad to hear that you are doing so well Xxx.

@ELW85 thanks for the welcome! I hope we both start feeling some movement soon, the wait between the 12 and 20 week scan is just so difficult (even though I broke down and got a 16 week scan)! I feel like movement will help reassure me that baby is doing well, even more so than listening to the hb. When is your next scan?

@MunchyMunchkin it’s so great to be in a place with other ladies who understand. I really hope you are able to enjoy this pregnancy without too many woobles! Thinking of you 🤗

@SweetChillis yay bump buddies!! I’m really excited to find someone at the same stage as me! When is your EDD? Do you have your 20 week scan coming up soon? Really hope we both feel flutters or something even stronger soon!

Jesskir89 · 10/10/2019 06:45

@jennabobs89 welcome! And I'm not sure how you're coping with a toddler too lol. @sadtoday21 thank you, I hope you're OK after yesterday and feel reassured x

MiniJMac · 10/10/2019 07:41

Morning ladies how are you all?
I've got my 16 week apt tomorrow so hoping to hear the heartbeat :)
Anyone else struggling with sleep? I start off not being able to get comfortable (I usually sleep on my front) then wake up in the night on my front in pain and needing a trip to the bathroom several times 😴. Think I need to invest in a pregnancy pillow again!

maybenextmonth · 10/10/2019 08:09

Morning everyone. How have you all decided whether to find out the sex of your baby or not? Have you all had strong feelings either way?

My husband and I are really unsure and our scan is tomorrow. As we don't have strong feelings either way I think maybe we should just not find out and let it be a surprise, but at the same time, I like the idea of knowing whether to call it a 'he' or 'she'. I currently call it 'he' anyway and don't want to get all the way to the end thinking it's a boy when it might not be! Haha.

Anyone else not really sure what to do?

ineedanotherholiday · 10/10/2019 08:24

Morning,

We are not finding out :)

Got 16 week appointment, I've heard some hospitals won't listen in on the Doppler so hoping mine will and we can hear the heartbeat for the first time! Grin

Jesskir89 · 10/10/2019 10:06

@minijmac pregnancy pillow defo helps me. @maybenextmonth we were then weren't and now are swaying back to are finding out lol its just tough because unisex clothes are boring lol.

DerbyshireGirly · 10/10/2019 11:50

Hi to both of our new ladies Smile

@Jesskir89 I completely agree with neutral clothes being boring, leaning towards waiting now but I'd love to go and buy stuff with a bit more "personality"! Which way are you leaning?

Jesskir89 · 10/10/2019 12:11

@DerbyshireGirly this is the only problem atm I'm leaning to lol at the end of the day although a surprise would be nice it's one or the other lol so it won't be a huge shock anyway. Well this is what I keep telling myself lol x
