New thread ladies :)

Has to be the most active thread on MN!

Feel free to state how far you are/EDD in your first post here so we have a reminder of who is where :)

Happy 2nd trimester to everyone now I think!

I’m 13+6 and due March 26th ❤️

@DaniX91 yes my back was bad during 17 weeks too! And yes totally the laying on the side is sooooo crummy ! The whole left side is aching and you just can't get back to sleep! And then
I wake up on my back! Drive me mad! I give myself the odd time on my right if the left is particularly bad! xxxxx

threegreensheep · 07/10/2019 18:51

@barnyb you can ask your midwife about washing baby clothes but you'll get a different answer from everyone. It's not exactly covered on the course 😂. I know some people like to but I didn't last time and will only wash stuff out the loft this time. The amount of bodily fluids they come into contact with in birth, no cotton fluff is going to do by harm! But it is cute having a washing line full of teeny clothes.

barnyb · 07/10/2019 18:55

@threegreensheep thank you. !! maybe il just wash the vests ? 🤔 I think il play it by ear! And deffo not wash everything all at once ! xx

Hi everyone, I've been AWOL for a few days trying to recover, but finally out of hospital. Been signed off work for another couple weeks though. Got loads of tablets to take but am only concerned about baby. Not me. Got reassurance scan Wednesday AM as when they last scanned him he wasn't moving and hadn't grown as much as anticipated.
I've also just caught up on full thread!
@satsumasaturday I cannot believe you are still in your jeans..
@Keyboard91 how you feeling? You sound like you've also had a rough week. How's the BP?
@whiskersonkittenss I think Campbell-Brooks works better, but could be persuaded otherwise depending on first name.
@Jesskir89 I am so glad your scan went well been thinking of you over the past week. Also to you and @Slightlylessclueless re dog - we have 3 but they all have to sleep downstairs (on sofas, they're not hard done by). For 3 months many years ago though we did have our oldest dog sleep with us as we were crashing on a sofa bed in my DM's lounge. She got into a habit of deciding that 2am every single morning was time for kisses, and would wake you until you complied. As much as I adore her (she's my particular baby girl), she's only allowed to sleep with me now on very rare occasions such as if she's ill!

Frillyfarmer · 08/10/2019 06:50

Glad to hear you're home @Dinosauraddict and hopefully your scan goes well tomorrow.

I'm 19+4 and feeling regular little movements now 🥰 in London for work and feeling so drained with all the travelling - can't wait for my own bed!

Slightlylessclueless · 08/10/2019 07:26

Thanks for the advice @Jesskir89 @Bramble1983 @Dinosauraddict.
I think that I will work on moving the dog out, so that it’s not a shock to her if we need to shut her out. And that being a bit fitter can’t be a bad thing, although I didn’t do much in the first place, it doesn’t make sense to me to totally rule a little bit of slow jogging out!

Uh isn’t insomnia the worst, I used to be a good sleeper, now it seems that I waste my early nights by lying awake for an hour each night! Oh well I suppose it prepares you.

Reassuring to hear that movements aren’t noticeable by many people, haven’t felt anything yet.
All the best for your scan @dinosauraddict

Jesskir89 · 08/10/2019 10:09

@dinosauraddict did they get to the bottom of what it was? Are they worried about baby's growth? And thank you its been a nervous time but finally beginning to relax. And @slightlylessclueless I'm going to try him on the landing soon with a baby gate up to our bedroom so he can still see us x

DerbyshireGirly · 08/10/2019 12:47

@Dinosauraddict good luck for tomorrow!!

DerbyshireGirly · 08/10/2019 12:50

Just a bit of a soppy update from me to say how much I'm enjoying these first early movements. Makes me feel very warm and fuzzy when I feel baby wriggling around in there Smile this is my first and I never expected to feel so much love for such a tiny little thing I haven't even met yet.

barnyb · 08/10/2019 16:57

@DerbyshireGirly isn't it sweet! I talk to her all the time and say stop that in there please! I'm mad I know! 😂

MockingJay27 · 08/10/2019 18:06

When are people's 20 weeks scans. I'm getting really nervous for mine. Especially as I haven't felt movement yet at 16+5, although I know this is completely normal. Can't help feel worried x

Jesskir89 · 08/10/2019 18:22

@DerbyshireGirly that's lovely. @mockingjay27 I'm 2 days behind you and I haven't either I've been getting worried but I had a scan last week and all was well. Mines bit until I'm 21 weeks on 8th Nov

ELW85 · 08/10/2019 19:08

@MockingJay27 - I'm 16+3 and having the same wobbles, but have been reassured that movements aren't really usually felt until 20 weeks.

MockingJay27 · 08/10/2019 19:14

@Jesskir89 @ELW85 ThankYou ladies, I think because everyone on the thread seems to be having them it's putting me on edge. I may take myself away from the group until after my scan as it seems to worry me more

SweetChillis · 08/10/2019 19:17

I'm 18+2 and haven't felt any movements yet (at least I don't think I have, it's hard to tell what's normal tummy sensations and what's baby flutters!) It's my first baby though and perfectly normal to not feel anything until 20 weeks. My 20 week scan is just under 3weeks away (I'll be over 21 weeks by then) Can't wait 😊

Jesskir89 · 08/10/2019 20:27

@mockingjay27 there's 4 of us in the same place hun don't worry @ELW85 and @sweetchillis don't forget some women on here are 2 or 3 weeks ahead of us in their pregnancy my midwife sent me this today....

Jesskir89 · 08/10/2019 20:29

You will get stretching pains all the way through as baby grows, movements not all start around 20 weeks ish sometimes later with your first xx

This is her text message back to me this afternoon x

MockingJay27 · 08/10/2019 20:36

@Jesskir89 ThankYou I know it's normal but I just can't imagine feeling anything at the minute. I've also had the odd bit of brown spotting on and off over the last week, so I'm just worrying even more. I'm seeing my midwife in the morning so I'll ask her about everything x

Jesskir89 · 08/10/2019 20:52

@mockingjay27 ask her to do the heartbeat to help set your mind at ease. When's your scan? X

ELW85 · 08/10/2019 20:53

@MockingJay27 - I totally get your worries and sometimes it does help to take a step away from the thread to get your head together so do what works for you 😊
Good luck with the midwife tomorrow - although you won’t need it!
@Jesskir89 is right, we’re not as far ahead and there are quite a few of us in the same boat, so try to take comfort from that x

MockingJay27 · 08/10/2019 20:54

ThankYou so much. My scan is November 1st. Apparently it's harder to find the heartbeat with anterior placenta so if she tries and can't I think I'll fall apart x

ELW85 · 08/10/2019 20:59

@MockingJay27 - Not too long until your scan 😊 if the MW appointment doesn’t settle you, maybe go for a private reassurance scan? I’ve heard that some MW don’t offer the heartbeat check as it can be hard to find, so please try not to read anything in to it if she doesn’t offer it, as she might be trying to be helpful 😊
We’re here for you though, and keep us updated please! X

Jesskir89 · 08/10/2019 21:06

Good idea to book a reassurance scan well worth the money I had one at 10 weeks after further spotting it helped me. Good luck sweet but as @ELW85 said you won't need it try and stay positive xx

blondie87 · 09/10/2019 07:21

I’m glad you’re out of hospital @Dinosauraddict. Good luck with your scan.

ELW85 · 09/10/2019 07:44

How are you getting on @Jesskir89? I’ve got my MW appointment on Friday so hopefully hear a little heartbeat! Currently sat waiting in the docs for flu and whooping cough jabs...
