Challenge, from what I hear the balloon is very painless and you can go home after its fitted? A very gentle start compared to some other ways!

Fortheloveofscience · 18/09/2019 08:08

Morning everyone.

@Moraxella sounds promising! Hope things are starting to progress for you.

@Senners I’ve been in 3 times with reduced movement, but the last time was 36 weeks - the last few weeks even on quieter days there’d be a few occasions where she’s wriggly enough to reassure me. As inconvenient as it is, you do just have to keep going in if you’re at all worried - when I saw the consultant after my third episode she was very clear that they want to know about reduced movements every time it happens.

39+6 here, still no signs of anything happening and woken up feeling very cross and fed up.

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/09/2019 08:10

knobjockey definitely sounds like you are on your way to me!

I had near constant back ache for the last weeks of my pregnancy

Bloody mw never turned up yesterday. Will give til dinner today and then phone them, annoying when i waited in all day yesterday

Moraxella · 18/09/2019 08:40

@KnobJockey I got swept yesterday and have same as you I think. Had loads of discharge but MW said normal, now have just lost plug. Had constant ache/pain/pressure/backache since sweep that feels bruised and hard to walk then 11pm til now regular period pain waves, and plug just come out (grim). No sleep at all! Did get half an hours leeway where I made and downed two cups of tea but we are off again 😂

Puglover88 · 18/09/2019 09:12

@Senners I’ve been in 15 times over the pregnancy with reduced movement - my 3rd trimester has been plagued by it - it’s exhausting!

@Fortheloveofscience I’m also in the no signs of labour camp, it’s so frustrating!! I’m so fed up of bouncing on my ball!

Sounds like there are a lot of people on their way, looks like we might have another influx of babies soon! 😃

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/09/2019 09:28

All sounds very much like what i experienced this time around moraxella! I hope yours is quicker than mine 😐

DustyDoorframes · 18/09/2019 09:36

Ooooh sounds like lots of people cranking up! Nothing here though- @Puglover88 we'll be the last women standing at this rate! Still, I guess the longest it can be now is a few more weeks. Which is scary too!
Good luck all the crampy people!

SJP3 · 18/09/2019 09:46

Good luck to everyone who's getting signs! Very excited for you!

Nothing here - I actually resorted to a ridiculous online quiz to predict when baby will be born last night. Late was the answer!

Puglover88 · 18/09/2019 10:22

@DustyDoorframes that’s true! Although every day feels like a year at the moment 😩

My due date by ultrasound is this Sunday, however my original due date before my 12 week scan was the 29th so I’m really hoping the ultrasound is the more accurate one! 😬

Senners · 18/09/2019 10:27

@Puglover88 sorry to hear you've been in 15 times how stressful but well done for going in each time best thing you can do!

I still have no signs, just occasional cramps like I need to poop, but I don't!

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/09/2019 10:32

My due date by period was 31st aug/1st sept. Then had a scan which gave 11/9. Another scan gave 5/9. Baby born 7/9.

challengeyourreality · 18/09/2019 12:38

Balloon in, it is a very strange sensation. Even got the bus home myself, why I chose to do that I don't know - was paranoid it would be visible under my skirt, luckily I had a trench coat on. Walking is quite uncomfortable, it does feel very similar to head being deeply engaged. Which I suppose it is the same pressure, just from the other side of the womb mouth. I really hope it will trigger labour. Have had some light contractions so far and cramping which is a good sign. Head is engaged but still high and cervix was slightly softer but no dilation.

Don't know what I'm doing wrong this time. Especially when it's happening for everyone else around me and they are dilating even before 40 weeks. Ds was born 39+4 and dd 40+0. Also heard at my apoointment that I apparently lost too mich blood during one of my labours. Had no idea...

Am I in the wrong headspace?

Hope it's progressing for those with rumblings.

IVEgottheDECAF · 18/09/2019 13:39

Hows it going challenge?

pinkpig381 · 18/09/2019 15:07

@KnobJockey not turning into anything, didn't think it would - just my luck! I've been booked in for induction on Monday when I'll be 39+5, praying because I'm 2-3cm already they'll break waters and it will start from there, kind of worried about the drip 😬
Hope the balloon is doing its thing @challengeyourreality
Fingers crossed for those still waiting on any labour signs, I never thought it would take so much patience!

Fortheloveofscience · 18/09/2019 15:45

@challengeyourreality hope the contractions are ramping up for you Smile.

@pinkpig381, @KnobJockey fingers crossed you start to have signs that hang around soon.

I almost convinced myself something was happening earlier, had back ache, period like cramps and shooting pains down my legs but all stopped now so think baby was just having a wriggle. Just booked myself into the hospital for a sweep on Friday when I’ll be 40+1 because I’m not seeing midwife until Monday and I’m booked for induction a week tomorrow.

BBell2 · 18/09/2019 16:49

@pinkpig381 came on to ask the same thing, so sore I could have put my back out but baby moved loads last night I thought it was trying to turn but I think it's sitting on a nerve!
@challengeyourreality I hope its going well, I'd never heard of the balloon before this thread, it's so strange to think they send you home with it in!

First mat day alone, done next to nothing!

KnobJockey · 18/09/2019 16:58

@BBell2 I have my fingers crossed it was turning for you! For what it's worth, I didn't feel the massive movement that they said when this one turned (36+6) but I did feel a very active hour where I was bending down lots and packing, at which point I stuck a load of cushions under my bum and hoped for the best! Have they decided yet whether you can try for a vaginal breech?

BBell2 · 18/09/2019 20:40

@knobjocky I was so hopeful, but still feeling movement as I was and the head is so pronounced.
No decision it's got a bit upsetting, OH is adamant that "everyone" thinks I should have a section. I wish he would stop discussing it outside of our house.
I feel I should get the sweep and if labour starts go in for monitoring baby, any issues or we get there and the experience level is low then it's a section.

DustyDoorframes · 18/09/2019 22:19

@BBell2 what you feel is what goes. It's your body. I can see that it's really hard though! "Everyone" can butt out.

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/09/2019 09:50

Bbell have you tried speaking to your OH about how this is making you feel?

I wonder if @Moraxella has her baby yet!?

Moraxella · 19/09/2019 11:43

I do! Went from 2-6cm in two hours at home then went in and he was out in another two hours!

Dyra · 19/09/2019 11:48

Oh wow! Congratulations @Moraxella! One speedy delivery for you. Enjoy your newborn cuddles!

IVEgottheDECAF · 19/09/2019 11:49

Yay, congratulations Flowers

SJP3 · 19/09/2019 12:14

What a quick one! Congratulations- lovely news! Hope you and baby are doing well!

SJP3 · 19/09/2019 12:17

In other news I can't get my early sweep in spite of Midwife's best efforts. Will have to wait to Monday. Trying not to be too disappointed as it may not work anyway but just feel a bit powerless 😞. Come on baby!!!!
