Yay bbell!

Come on september babies!

KateMcCarthy · 28/09/2019 17:44

Hello mums-to-be!

I'm Kate, and I'm looking for a generous London-based pregnant woman, or someone who has just given birth, who may be interested in helping me with my infant observation course, taken at the British Psychotherapy Foundation, by allowing me to observe her & her baby for an hour once a week from birth up until his or her second birthday (excluding holidays). Day-to-day I work as a therapeutic practitioner in Great Ormond Street Hospital, but I would be coming to your house as a student and learner about baby development.

Offering to be an observation family is a very generous gesture and many mums ind this to be a rewarding experience. Beyond agreeing to a regular, weekly time-slot of one hour, there are no obligations on your end and baby and family are encouraged to continue about their ordinary lives during these hours.

If you are interested in helping me, I would really love to hear from you! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you! Smile

Kate

Congrats sjp3! Flowers

Jackson321 · 28/09/2019 22:11

Congratulations @SJP3 Smile

BBell2 · 29/09/2019 03:15

@SJP3 congratulations!

I've been in labour 15-16 hrs, fully effaced but only 2cm. Unfortunately now completely desperate to lay down a bit which isnt going to help.
MaU was a nightmare, so busy not even the preggers women could all get a chair in waiting. A bloke going off on one about being sent home and being suicidal and if he didnt take his meds he would kill himself but if he did he would miss his babies birth. So have come home for a bit to get back in the zone!

Senners · 29/09/2019 05:56

Well I finally gave birth at 21:39 28th Sept to a baby girl, after 4.5 gruelling days of slow back labour... not the drug free water birth I envisioned but... She's just perfect. Thank you all for your words of wisdom and support that got me through these trying few days! x

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/09/2019 06:04

Yay! Well done senners Flowers time for a rest now!

Good luck bbell

kyles101 · 29/09/2019 06:13

Well done @Senners !! So long as baby is happy and healthy that's the main thing! If we are lucky enough to have another one day I'll be having all the drugs again- no medals for being in pain!!

Tat sounds interesting @BBell2 not ideal at al. Fingers crossed everything ramps up again quickly now you're back home. Good luck, will be thinking of you.

Yaaaay @SJP3 and @Senners !!!! Congratulations!!! Wow SJP is that you claiming the biggest baby on the thread award?? Senners 4.5 days of back labour isn't in anyone's birth plan you trooper, you did amazingly!!!

Argh @BBell2 MAU sounds horrific! Good luck with this last bit!

BBell2 · 29/09/2019 07:33

@Senners that was an epic slog I bet you felt horrific till you met your girl!

I've not been back to hospital, contractions went from every 3 mins to dropping off a cliff and back to 7-12 mins so I'm letting OH sleep and have been warned its likely to come back more painful with a breech. At least I'm warm and relaxed here, but feeling very tired.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/09/2019 07:45

Bless you bbell you sound very calm , i think i would be stressing by now

DustyDoorframes · 29/09/2019 07:58

@BBell2 you must be exhausted! Warm and relaxed sounds good though. Hopefully not too much longer now!

Horehound · 29/09/2019 10:11

@senners well done and congratulations! I just wanted to say I also had a very long birth and I believe this contributed to what happened in the subsequent days. Because your labour was so long it is likely your baby will be extra tired. Please make sure you wake your baby for feeds every 3 hours! This was a mistake I made and my baby lost too much weight we ended up back in hospital and also with a bad case of jaundice. It ended up in a vicious cycle of baby jaundiced so too tired to feed and so more weight loss and ended up in hospital.

Don't want to sound patronising but I don't want you to go through what I did. Xx enjoy. Your baby cuddles :)

Jackson321 · 29/09/2019 10:21

Congratulations @senners! My contractions started this morning! They are about 6-10 minutes apart. All in my back too! It hurts! Not sure how you did it for so long! Well done x

Horehound · 29/09/2019 10:21

@BBell2 are you having a vaginal delivery with a breech baby?

Senners · 29/09/2019 10:22

Thank you everyone and thank you horehound for the advice I will definitely keep that in mind. Hope those of you almost at the finishing line make it soon, you are so so so close! It'll all be over and magical for you soon 💕

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/09/2019 10:52

Oooo exciting jackson321! Good luck!

KnobJockey · 29/09/2019 12:43

Good luck for today Jackson! BBell, I hope everything is going okay for you and you are getting to stay in control of your birth- it might not turn out exactly as you would like, but I hope you're both safe and happy.

Puglover88 · 29/09/2019 12:56

Wow I’ve missed so many babies! Just trying to catch up now. Congratulations to @pinkpig381 @Senners @SJP3 @Fortheloveofscience on your babies! Hope you’re enjoying cuddles and getting some rest! Good luck to those still going, @BBell2 hope it’s not too long for you now, you can do it! 😊 xx
