@BBell2 that is progress at least? Fingers crossed the sweep does it's thing...

Senners · 25/09/2019 22:24

Stilllllllll just this intense lower back pain 😩 it's kinda coming and going every 7 mins or so but it's all in my back not really getting any pain in front. Midwife said baby doesn't feel back to back 🤷 just waiting for it to get a bit closer or something more obvious, didn't expect this kind of pain so I'm all confused, and very uncomfortable!

SJP3 · 25/09/2019 22:47

@Senners that does sound confusing and frustrating not to know if this is it or not... Hope you manage some sleep tonight if this isn't show time x

KnobJockey · 26/09/2019 00:25

Baby girl arrived safe and sound this afternoon at 3.18pm!

Contractions woke me up at 3, dozed then managed an hours work (lol) until 5, when I woke up DP. Bath, and managed to get very painfully to the hospital for 7, when it turns out I was 5cm. Things progressed very quickly, and by half 9/10 I was ready to push...but then nothing progressed. Pushed til 2.30 ish, at which point they decided that baby really wasn't moving down my pelvis, so took me in for spinal and forceps. Only the consultant took one look and said no,too high, emcs it is!

Baby born safely, she had shifted very slightly back to back, was looking upwards instead of down, and weighed a whopping 9lb14.5- no chance was she coming out easy! She was too big to get round the bend in my pelvis.

She has no name yet, is boob crazy and has fed for about 5 hours since 5pm- she's taken to it like a dream. Sent DP home to get some sleep, absolutely over the moon with our not so little girl!

KnobJockey · 26/09/2019 00:28

Still in shock- my 15 year old DD was almost bald, with a tiny bit of white blonde hair, and weighed 6lb 3.5! This one won't even fit in newborn 😂

Senners · 26/09/2019 02:32

Oh my gosh congrats knobjockey!! Glad to hear you're both doing so well 😊

Morning everyone! Congratulations @KnobJockey she is beautiful! :) @Senners how is your back pain? My friend had back contractions in her pregnancy and nothing in the front!

Senners · 26/09/2019 09:22

It's still the same really, making my toes curl but don't feel the need to make any noise when having one.. yet. I can't imagine another few days of this though they are still like 10 mins apart. Lost some mucus plus this morning but not a lot. Just waiting to see midwife again now after my growth scan see if she can advise me anything to do

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/09/2019 09:47

Senners have you had a sweep? Might help you along!

Jackson321 · 26/09/2019 09:59

Anyone got and advice on swollen feet! Mine have ballooned this morning and I’m stuck
On the sofa! Has anyone tried any ways to get their labour moving? I have my first sweep booked for Monday. @Senners maybe the midwife will shes some light on the pains of nothing else.

Megan2018 · 26/09/2019 11:07

Massive congratulations @KnobJockey!!
She is fabulous, and blinking hell to her weight! Shock

DustyDoorframes · 26/09/2019 11:28

Woohoo @KnobJockey !!!!! Brilliant news! (Well, not the pushing to no avail!) what a whopper, and so gorgeous. You did say you were going to have a toddler... and I can't believe you got an hour of work in!!!!

Urgh @Senners you poor thing. Hopefully things will start progressing very very soon. My labours are all in my back, but I've been lucky in that they've been very quick.

DustyDoorframes · 26/09/2019 11:30

Ps @Jackson321 ring the MW re your feet, it could be your blood pressure so needs checking out.
@pinkpig381 surely has given birth by now?? I hope so! Thinking of you either way Pink!!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/09/2019 11:35

Hopefully @yevans and @pinkpig381 now snuggling newborns!

Senners · 26/09/2019 11:47

Reassuring to hear other people have had labours in their back, I wasn't expecting it! Especially as midwife is confident baby is not back to back :/ they just said to call when they're closer together but currently the pains are 10 mins ish apart but not unbearabley painful.. but I'm still gonna call as soon as they are 5 mins apart because they've been going since 4pm Tuesday and I'm tired!
The soonest my midwife will see me for a sweep is Tuesday !!! Hoping that this won't last till then but if it does I will definitely be having that sweep. Just currently bouncing away watching some netflix trying to distract myself, wish my waters would go!

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/09/2019 11:50

If you end up going in to hospital to get checked they will likely do a sweep senners

Puglover88 · 26/09/2019 12:10

@KnobJockey congratulations!! She’s absolutely scrumptious! Hope you’re both recovering well! 😊 xxx

Puglover88 · 26/09/2019 12:11

You’re doing great @Senners not too long for you now hopefully!! 😊 xx

Lucyj1 · 26/09/2019 12:24

Hi, I had a baby boy on 1st September by c section 9pound12. Unless he is totally knocked out asleep he doesn't really like being in his mosses basket when awake he prefers to be on mine or dad's chest and will moan untill picked up. Does anybody else have this? I have heard this is still normal at this age.

Megan2018 · 26/09/2019 12:34

Most of my contractions were felt in my back too, DH had to spend all 6 hours massaging!
