Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Yes I did another CB digital yesterday as well and it had gone up to 3+. I'm 6 weeks and 3 days today going on estimated ov date. So at least HCG rose between the date of my BFP at 4 weeks 6 days and then. Trying to have a PMA although I'm so anxious.

AloeVeraLynn · 03/09/2019 09:11

I'm feeling quite down with the sickness. I had HG with my second and I'm having massive anxiety over it this time. I actually think I'm worrying myself into feeling sick if that makes sense. I know if the worse happens I can get through it but I'm scared. It's making me not want to be pregnant Sad

Ruthsoph · 03/09/2019 10:34

i keep getting a really horriable taste in my mouth - is anyone else getting this and i am always thristy

CassandrasCastle · 03/09/2019 11:33

I'm particularly sympathising with anyone struggling with sickness right now. I had to come home from work today, now lying in bed, and I feel awful about it Sad I already had to take an afternoon off a few weeks ago when I found out I was pg in the work loos!! (V unexpected pregnancy) I just feel like everyone's going to think I'm a total slacker - only 7+4 so I wanted to wait a bit to tell work. But I broke today and told my line manager - she was nice, but I also know it's going to be a massive pain in the arse for her; I've only been in the job 3 months... So yeah, feel both down and ill right now 😩

CassandrasCastle · 03/09/2019 11:35

(Somehow managed to make that post sound like I managed to GET pregnant in the work loos...🙈 I promise not the case Blush)

Ruthsoph · 03/09/2019 12:12

@CassandrasCastle you cant help how you feel - does your manager have kids? i always find once they have kids they are more sympathetic towards symptoms - my boss is a man but has kids so i know he will be ok - i founds ginger biscuits helped me yesterday whne i felt sick
one minute i felt really sick and nauseous and then next i felt sick from hunger and wanted pickeled onion monster munch - crazy!

CassandrasCastle · 03/09/2019 12:21

@Ruthsoph thanks :) No she does not have kids, and has said she doesn't want them either... She's been a nice, supportive manager so far but I do still feel like I've somehow let her down! And the teams I work with. Yet again they get an email from me saying 'for your info I'm having to leave early today...blah blah etc.' I had a lovely chat with a colleague before I had to leave and she was dead supportive, but that's just one person, and she's already a friend.
Also I'm able to Mumsnet right?? Although that's lying down, with my eyes closed quite a lot, managing the odd sip of water...

CassandrasCastle · 03/09/2019 12:24

Unfortunately ginger has always actually given me an upset stomach 🙈 I think I should get plain crackers or something tho, maybe kickstart those monster munch cravings :p I think i really want people to know that I'm not just randomly going home for the sake of it, but it's also way too early to share this news I think :s

fatisnotafeeling · 03/09/2019 12:27

Hi everyone, can I join.

This is my 4th baby and 11th pregnancy.

I found out in April I was unexpectedly pregnant and me and DH panicked. I ended up having a termination that I didn't want and i have been having counselling for that ever since.
This pregnancy was also unexpected and we were using contraception so I feel like we are meant to have another baby (hopefully)

I am6+2, because I was paranoid about it I found out at exactly 4 weeks so the time
Is dragging . I feel awfully with sickness and fatigue. I am self employed so just cannot take time off work because I don't get paid but all I want to do is sleep.

My DC are 17, 9 and 7 so a big age gap here .

PurpleViolin · 03/09/2019 13:01

Not telling anyone at work until much much further. A member of management knows but she is a friend and knows in that capacity. She is one of only people who knows. Reality is I have had many losses in past. If I have another one I dont want everyone knowing.

Someone in a senior role was looking at my boobs/bloat today. I could see her eyeing me. My plan is total denial. I am not employed like they all are I am an outsider who comes in to work at a senior level so similar level but very different structure. I have no employer to tell.

I do worry I am going to vomit everywhere though Confused

AloeVeraLynn · 03/09/2019 13:08

Hey fatisnotafeeling
4th baby here too, also unexpected Flowers

CassandrasCastle · 03/09/2019 13:18

Conclusion is, I probably worry far too much what people think of me 🤔
My friend said today that she got the sense I probably wasn't ready to tell my line manager, but I went ahead and did it anyway :s Ah well. I've actually told quite a few friends - probably being naive because this is my first pregnancy

Sunshine8888 · 03/09/2019 13:32

We have told our parents and my best friend. Not telling anyone else until I’ve made it through first trimester. Not sure I could cope having to tell anyone else if things went wrong ☹️

CassandrasCastle · 03/09/2019 13:45

I'm getting anxious about that now too :/ Despite being physically low, I am feeling more positive tho, and obsessed with that miscarriage calculator thing - it's made me feel reassured, but it could also be totally misleading

Ruthsoph · 03/09/2019 14:11

@lokiCat do yo uget a 16 week app? i thought it was just 12 and 20? whats the 16 week one?
Thanks x

Ruthsoph · 03/09/2019 14:18

is anyone getting the NIPT Testing? due to my age of 42 i think i will have it done otherwise i wont relax - wondered what peoples thought were on this?

Navy123 · 03/09/2019 15:27

Hi all,
Hoping I can join! Currently 8+4 based on today's scan, edd of 10/4. This is pregnancy number 8 for me, I have 1 DS who will be just over two when this one makes an appearance (hopefully...).
Had some bleeding early on so 2 scans at epu, today's was private because I wasn't totally reassured last time but the little splodge has grown as much as it should so I am daring to start to hope!
Been nauseous for weeks, prescribed cyclizine although symptoms have reduced now so not taking it all the time. Also super sore nips, especially when feeding DS which isn't fun!

Bumbliebee · 03/09/2019 18:02

@Ruthsoph I am; I permanently have the most disgusting taste in my mouth, it's been bothering me for about a week and no sign of going away yet. Also very thirsty a lot of the time, feeling so so sick and tired too

GinTonic123 · 03/09/2019 18:31

I have only told my manager so far. He laughed. He was asking me to increase my hours to be PA to the Head of France in addition to my existing responsibilities. I couldn't help myself and blurted out "I am pregnant but would like to consider it"... he was great, and has agreed not to officially tell HR until I give him the nod.... seeing as I am 40 I want to wait until 10-12 weeks have gone, to have a little more time to get our heads around it.
I had a funny conversation with a colleague, who doesnt know, too:
Colleague: Can I treat you to a naice coffee from the very good coffee shop over the road...
Me: that's awfully kind, thank you but i have reduced my caffeine intake to 1 cup in the morning before I get to work.
Colleague: is everything ok? What's next? No alcohol?? No meat???

I really did have to inwardly laugh - since being pregnant I can't stand the sight of meat, and alcohol is an obvious no-no.

GinTonic123 · 03/09/2019 18:34

@Ruthsoph - I am going to get the NIPT tests done too. My doctor was nudging me in that direction at the last appointment due to age. Unfortunately the health insurance doesn't cover it, so I have to pay privately but I think it will be worth the peace of mind.

PrincessConsuela12 · 03/09/2019 19:03

Does anyone else have to eat to stop them feeling nauseous? I feel like I'm eating constantly 😳

nikdan123 · 03/09/2019 19:17

Can I join this thread 😁due 11th april going off my dates. Have got a private scan booked in for friday as we are goin abroad in a couple of weeks so wanted to make sure all was ok before we went. Cant wait

AloeVeraLynn · 03/09/2019 19:22

PrincessConsuela12 yes Blush it helps me stop feeling so sick but then I throw up cause I've eaten too much. So glamorous.

PrincessConsuela12 · 03/09/2019 19:34

@AloeVeraLynn Oh no! Luckily I've not been sick yet which surprises me with the amount I'm putting away 😂 hope your sickness eases up soon

@nikdan123 Congratulations! Hope the scan goes well for you ☺️

GinTonic123 · 03/09/2019 19:50

@PrincessConsuela12 - have you tried herbal tea? I find that ones with fennel or aniseed in them have a calming effect on my stomach and it feels full and warm afterwards, so I don't need to eat that much more than normal. I can't really stomach the mint teas though - you win some, you lose some.
