Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Hi all! Sorry I've been so MIA 🙈 work has been absolutely crazy and I just crash by the time I get home.
Had the dating scan last week and I'm measuring slightly ahead now! 14+2 today 😊

How has everyone been doing?

@Sunshine8888 I've just read that you found out what you're having through the Harmony test - how exciting! Sorry I missed that - what are you having?
I feel exactly like you. Limited reassurance after one scan and then the panic sets again wondering if everything is okay. I think until I actually start to feel the baby move, I won't be able to settle down! 🙈

@Kkgg10 I feel exactly like that as well! I think we're hoping to start looking around in the Christmas sales and maybe place some orders then. My next scan is 9th December, then I'll hopefully be able to relax a little bit!

@Serendipity001 ooh I was at the Olympia baby show on Sunday, as well! What pram and car seat did you end up ordering? We're debating between the M&P Ocarro or iCandy Peach. Really liked the look of the latter! Had fun pushing them around on the buggy testing track as well 😂
Re NCT classes I was speaking to one my colleagues today. He said the most he got out of it was meeting new people, not so much about the classes! So, I guess it depends what you're hoping to get out of it really.

Sorry I've missed a lot. Will try catch up on the thread xx

@lokicat I was there on Sunday too! We were debating between silvercross wave and Icandy peach. They had the icandy on the buggy track but not the wave. In the end we bought the wave although it was a hard decision!! Did you pick up any bits?

I think the general feeling on NCT is not to bother. Friends have said the same as your colleague. I asked because I signed up for more info on the stand at Olympia and received an email this morning with details and 10% discount if booked by 31st so was just wondering whether to book or not. Leaning towards not and stick with the NHS classes instead!

Sunshine8888 · 25/10/2019 14:24

@LokiCat lovely to hear from you, I’m glad all is well 😊 I’m having a little girl! We are delighted 😀

I haven’t bought a thing yet! Hopefully my 20 week scan will be before Christmas and good news then we will start making purchases while we still have two incomes! We are also considering putting house on the market and looking to buy something bigger - it could be a bit stressful!!

bowielove · 29/10/2019 14:08

Hi all, does anyone know the name of the Facebook group? There seem to be lots for April 2020 babies. Ta!

Leag1 · 29/10/2019 15:53

@Dawn99 thanks, I saw my GP who gave me cyclizine to help keep fluidst down. I almost went for IV fluids but luckily I fell asleep and felt a lot better the next day.

What happens at the 16 week midwife appointment, mine is delayed by 2 weeks due to my stomach bug and I will be 18 weeks by the time I have it on Thursday. Does this matter?

Catconfusion · 29/10/2019 16:53

@Leag1 I just had mine. She tested urine and did blood pressure. We also got to listen to the heartbeat. It was very quick really but good to know baby is sounding ok. I'm sure it won't matter if you go at 18 weeks. Hope you feel better soon! X

Serendipity001 · 29/10/2019 19:42

Is anyone feeling any flutters yet? I can't tell if I'm having gas bubbles or it's the baby! It's probably still too early :(

al2616 · 29/10/2019 21:19

@bowielove It's a secret group so you won't be able to find it by searching on Facebook. You need to be friends with one of the admins to join. I think there are quite a few of them on here that you can message. It's a brilliant facebook group though!

girlanonymous · 29/10/2019 21:30

Could I also please be added to the group xx

mrsrob90 · 30/10/2019 09:39

if anyone wants adding to the group I am an admin also just pm me your Facebook name or link to your page...i can add you as a friend add to group then delete you as a friend on your personal fb :) xx

Myangelbaby11 · 30/10/2019 14:02

Hello ladies! I’ve just joined Mumsnet. I too am due 26/04/20!!! Hope everyone’s pregnancies are going well. I’m just starting to feel half human after 3 months of extreme fatigue and nausea!!! xx

nicoletia · 03/11/2019 21:03

Evening All. Looks like this thread has gone dead. Is it because the group has moved to Facebook instead?

chrissiexxx · 03/11/2019 21:36

Hi All, hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm 15weeks pregnant so due on 25th April.

Sadly, I lost my first baby (Ethan) only last November during premature labour at 21weeks, weakened cervix and sepsis. I'm lucky to be in care of premature baby unit to hopefully avoid same thing happening again but still got 5weeks between appointments.

Praying for a healthy full term pregnancy. Could do with some normal pregnancy chat to help me through next few months.

Hope everyone is well and coping with the 12-20week wait. Xx

Serendipity001 · 04/11/2019 09:52

@nicoletia I was thinking the same I guess most people have moved over the Facebook group which I'm not on :(

@chrissiexxx hello! Last year must have been so tough but fingers & toes crossed for a healthy happy baby this time x

Sunshine8888 · 04/11/2019 10:39

I’m still here!

Sunshine8888 · 04/11/2019 10:41

Just finding this period between the 12 and 20 week scan a bit ... odd! I can’t feel baby and have no scans to reassure me everything’s ok. I’m trying to stop worrying and believe my body is doing what it should but I don’t like it!

LokiCat · 04/11/2019 11:01

I'm still here! Just very crap at keeping up with the thread 🙈

@Sunshine8888 I feel exactly the same as you. Apart from some nausea, there's nothing else that makes me feel pregnant and I get a few panicky moments!
I've got my 16 week appointment on Thursday. Hoping we'll get to hear the heartbeat!
Are you still planning on putting your house on the market btw? I can imagine that will be quite stressful!

@Serendipity001 sorry I missed your earlier message! We didn't buy anything at the baby show, but we just placed an order for Mama and Papa's Ocarro bundle yesterday. I'm so excited for it to arrive!

If anyone is looking to start buying things, Baby Planet is doing Black Friday deal for the whole of November. We asked Mamas and Papas to price match it so we ordered in store and saved about £600 on our set.

Sunshine8888 · 04/11/2019 11:46

Thanks for the info @LokiCat, I can’t bring myself to buy anything until I’ve had 20 week scan and can truly believe this is happening 🤞🏻
I have my midwife app a week Friday so also hoping to hear heartbeat although I think my placenta has formed on the front so it may be difficult to detect. I’m glad I’m not the only one feeling a bit unsure! my boobs still hurt so much - hoping that’s a good sign?!

LokiCat · 04/11/2019 12:06

@Sunshine8888 oh I completely understand. I was feeling like that as well, trying not to let myself get too excited in case it all went wrong. Speaking to DH and my mum helped a lot, but I know it's really difficult to not think about it.
I'm sure everything is still all fine for us all.
My boobs feel like they're just constantly growing!! Had to purchase new bras on M&S yesterday because my old ones were getting so uncomfortable!

OP posts:
Sunshine8888 · 04/11/2019 13:25

@LokiCat mine are just huge 🙈🙈

Yes we are still thinking of marketing the house! But we will try and be relaxed about it, just put it on and see what happens! We do love our house so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we end up staying where we are - it might just feel a little snug if we can’t then move in years to come

lannacorrea · 04/11/2019 17:41

Hi all!
It feels such a long time between 12 and 20 weeks scan, doesn't it?
16 weeks appointment was just a group visit to the birth centre, so not really reassuring about the baby.
I'm 18 weeks now and my bump had grown a lot after week 16.
Not sure if it works for everyone, but every day, early morning, laying in bed, before getting up even for a wee, I lay down on my back and because the tummy is still flat from the sleep time, I can feel the baby from outside, DP can actually see where she is, and I keep kinda measuring her by touching my belly and seems to have grown. Gives me some peace to touch her every day... hope the tip can help others...
Have a lovely week!
Xx

Babyg1995 · 04/11/2019 17:44

Can I join I'm due April 2nd is there a link To The fb group ☺

CateyA · 04/11/2019 19:33

Helloo all and congratulations :-)

I’m also due April 21st

Quick question are any of you still exhausted a lot?

I understood I should feel better by 2nd trimester but by 7.30 each night I pretty much lose the ability to do anything except go to sleep. Or if I do light exercise.. like I did an antenatal yoga class yesterday I’m passing out by 6pm?!

I’m eating and drinking well and otherwise seem in good health at 16 weeks

Xxx

chrissiexxx · 04/11/2019 21:35

I would recommend asking the mid-wife if you can listen to baby. They don't usually because may not hear anything and worries you more.

I'm feeling so tired all the time also. Anyone else suffering with Back pain already? I'm in agony now so worried it will only get worse, need to find a yoga class maybe.

@Serendipity001 Thank you 😘

CateyA · 05/11/2019 12:13

I had my 16 week check and they listened for the heartbeat
Although she did say there was a good chance they’d not be able to find it as it’s like ‘finding a needle in a haystack’ at 16 weeks. That’s helped me feel more reassured so defo ask if they will check at your next midwife appointment.

And she reassured me fatigue is totally normal and for some people it doesn’t pass til after 25 weeks so glad I’m ‘normal’ in my sleepiness and hope that reassures anyone else worrying xxx
