Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

I got my harmony results letter on Friday. Everything is fine and I'm low risk (1:10000). We also found out we're having a baby boy 💙 I couldn't be happier :)

In terms of the bladder infection, I phoned the maternity unit and they said they would fax the script over to my GP. They never did but luckily my practice was doing late hours and offered to test my urine and give me a script as they saw fit. I'm still absolutely fuming about how I've been treated but at least I can sleep better now I know that there is a very low risk of him having one of the trisomies.

Bump wise, I was slightly overweight before I got pregnant (BMI 26) and I still look like I've eaten too many carbs 😂

Finally, can anybody please send me a Facebook group request?

hellololabells2019 · 20/10/2019 18:47

We got told anything under 3.5 was normal for the nuchal measurement

Catconfusion · 20/10/2019 18:48

Good luck @tacosplease they should tell you the Nuchal although I had to read mine in my notes as the doctor just said it's normal. It will be such a relief when you've had it! Xx

Congratulations @nicoletia ❤️ xx

Realitysucks · 20/10/2019 19:03

@Dawn99 I would complain and ask for a rescan as they are supposed to check unless you have had NIPT. A nurse is not qualified to do the screening. We had our 12 week( apparently 13 week scan Monday) I was a bit annoyed as I wanted the screening and they refused to do it because I’d had NIPT which Had come back negative. However I still wanted to know the thickness of the nuchal fold due tomorrow my age as I’m 41 and felt if it was ok it would have been a bit of extra reassurance but bubs wasn’t in a great position.

@hellololabells2019 I’ve been in Mat jeans since 10 weeks! It’s my 2nd DC but a 17 year gap! I’m literally popped straight walkway but partly because I was on added progesterone injections twice a day! I’ve found Blooming marvellous range to be good.

@bowielove I think if you’ve been tracking you’re more likely to know. 28th sounds wrong for the 2nd though? Are you sure it’s not more like 23rd 🤣🤣

@OddshoesOddsocks aww im sure the 8 year old will come round. I have a 17.5 year old 😬 that was fun although not too bad as he knew we were doing the ivf so I suppose he wasn’t really that surprised. I think he was more excited when we told him it was a boy!

OddshoesOddsocks · 21/10/2019 01:08

@hellololabells2019 another due date buddy! This is my 3rd too and I’m definitely rounder than I was before already! I really suffered with bloat between 8-12 weeks so got a few cheap pairs of maternity leggings from eBay, they weren’t great so I wouldn’t recommend but got me through work comfortably! I’ll let you know if I find anything decent!

@Realitysucks wow that’s a good gap! Great that he’s pleased, is he looking forward to being a big brother? Exciting that you know it’s a boy already, congratulations! I’m thinking we should find out this time, we did with dd1 but dd2 was a surprise. I did like the surprise but the wait nearly killed me! I’m toooo impatient for pregnancy!!

mountainofdreams · 21/10/2019 07:12

Hello everyone! First time posting on this thread. I'm 30, mum of a four year old girl and due on 6th April. I found out at my first scan that it's a boy this time. Is there a FB group and if so may I join? Smile

gnat99 · 21/10/2019 09:20

@OddshoesOddsocks, @Charby87 and @Mountainofdreams - hello! There is a FB group but I can't remember who can add you on.

@nicoletia congrats! That's a fantastically low result, and great to find out you're having a boy. I'm not sure yet whether we'll find out gender at 20 weeks or not - erring on the side of waiting until baby arrives. I always thought I'd want to be more organised the second time round, but it is such a nice surprise to have ahead of you at the birth too.

@Realitysucks I'm 41 too, nice to have a few other older mums on here. My DD is only 3 though, so a slightly smaller gap Smile

@Leag1 I'm 16 weeks with my second, and have a tiny bump under my belly button. You would only spot it if you knew me, and were looking for it closely. Otherwise it just looks like a tummy I reckon, although in the evening when I've eaten dinner & my muscles get tired it looks a lot bigger Wink Most of my clothes still fit, except for stuff that ties up/sits right there! I am wearing maternity jeans some of the time, as I needed new black jeans and there was no point buying normal ones. But actually they are a bit annoying: comfy on bump, but keep slipping down, so uncomfortable overall.

@PrincessConsuela12 I don't know any name apps, but I used this website the last time and found it quite useful to find out how common different names were

gnat99 · 21/10/2019 09:26

Hi again all, I'm having trouble keeping track of everyone (except my due date buddy @Whatelsecouldibecalled!).

Perhaps we could start an April 2020 Stats list thread? I had that on my MN group last time round and it was really helpful. We start a new thread just for stats, we all put some info on it, and if your details change (after a scan or something), you just update your bit. We could organise the list chronologically by due date. Each entry would look something like this:

Gnat99, age 41, DC2 (i.e. this will be my second), EDD 4th April.

Let me know if anyone thinks this is a good idea, and I can start one up.

Sunshine8888 · 21/10/2019 09:39

That’s a good idea @gnat99.

I’m 31, this is DC1 and EDD is 30/04/2020 x

Charby87 · 21/10/2019 11:54

@gnat99 great idea! x

Sarabara1 · 21/10/2019 12:31

Hi Ladies! This is my first time posting on this thread! There is actually another April 2020 one.

I am 27, this is DC1 and my EDD is 02/04/2020. Starting to getting super excited now!

Whoever is adding, I would love to join the FB group also :)

girlanonymous · 22/10/2019 11:57

Hello all! I've just had my dating scan. Due 26/04/20.

My nuchal measurement is concerning me a bit. They also gave me a blood test with test for Down's syndrome.

I measured 13 weeks and 2 days. Baby was not cooperating very well so had to jump a few times.

Does anyone know what the measurement for the NT should be at 13 weeks?

Ruthsoph · 22/10/2019 13:12

@girlanonymous it should be less than 3.5mm x

littledinosaurs · 23/10/2019 08:57

@otterbaby have been thinking of you. Hope you're taking care of yourself xx

Leag1 · 23/10/2019 11:16

I think I have food poisoning. I have thrown up 7 times this morning, tried eating but it came back up, and can't keep fluids down either. I have never has this been before - hopefully it's a bug?

Dawn99 · 23/10/2019 16:23

@Leag1 that sounds awful 🤢 would it be worth seeing ur dr? Dehydration is a worry if u can’t keep fluids down

AJplusone · 23/10/2019 17:16

@girlanonymous I wouldn't worry, if there is anything to be concerned about from the blood test they will call you straight away. If not, you'll get a letter in the post saying everything is fine so, as they say, no news is good news!

I'm due two days before you - I understand how hard the worrying is, I think all do it!

Ellebell1989 · 23/10/2019 17:59

Evening all, had a 16 week scan today at the hospital and asked if they could tell me the gender. Unfortunately the baby has the umbilical cord blocking the view! Have any of you had this before and know any techniques on how to shift the cord position? I have booked a gender reveal scan as I’m the most impatient person on the planet!

Sunshine8888 · 24/10/2019 09:31

@Ellebell1989 no I think I win that award 😂 I found out gender at 12 weeks through the harmony test ☺️💕

Kkgg10 · 24/10/2019 09:34

Has anyone started buying stuff yet?
I just cannot see past the fear of the 20 week scan and checking for conditions and issues before I start!

Sunshine8888 · 24/10/2019 10:52

@Kkgg10 I know, I am also feeling like this! I’m so happy to be past the 12 week milestone but now I’m like... 8 weeks until next scan?! And can’t feel baby so do I just carry on assuming all is ok? Would it be obvious if it wasn’t? Does the worry ever end!

Kkgg10 · 24/10/2019 12:00

Not a clue @Sunshine8888! I’m away on holiday next week for 2 weeks then have my 20 week scan the week after I come back so hopefully just flies in. Hopefully all is well and excitement and planning can really start x

Serendipity001 · 24/10/2019 12:18

@sunshine8888 I had the same feeling as you so we got a private scan done. 8 weeks felt ages away for the next scan and because I can't feel anything I got a tiny bit paranoid!! But it was just that and everything was okay with the baby. I'm glad I did it though because we heard the heartbeat which I didn't at 12 week and they confirmed clean mouth no lip cleft.

@kkgg10 I wasn't planning to buy anything until after 20 week but we went baby show over the weekend and the deals were good so ended up buying the pram and car seat and a few other bits.

Can I ask if anyone has looked into NCT classes? I've had a few friends tell me it's not worth it and it's just an expensive way to make friends with other mums. Does anyone have any positive experience with NCT?

girlanonymous · 24/10/2019 17:35

@Serendipity001 I have to agree with your friends. I did the NCT classes and learned nothing I didn't already know with my first. I wouldn't bother unless you're ok to pay the money.

Sorbfsiabs · 24/10/2019 19:25

I saw a few people mentioning the private secret Facebook group again - anyone wanting to join please send me a PM with a link to your Facebook profile. I think there are about 75 of us x
