Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

That’s weird alright @whatelsecouldibecalled!

Too tired now too work out which one of us is out...

gnat99 · 17/10/2019 23:07

@Whatelsecouldibecalled hace figured out why I am wrong, d’oh! Was on phone to MW today to book 16 week appt (after over a week of trying to get through Angry), and got an appt for Tuesday 29th, when I’ll be 17+3. I temporarily forgot that that’s a week on Tuesday, and not this Tuesday coming ConfusedBlush. Sorry! I’m blaming this bloody low BP which is making my head hurt.

Lovely to have a due date buddy Smile

Catconfusion · 18/10/2019 03:34

@Dawn99 I think I'd be a bit mad about that. Our sonographer went through everything with us. Told us chances are very good all ok since baby is so healthy on 12 week scan. If baby was active, normal heart rhythm, you have a low Nuchal fold measurement and the facial profile looks normal your chances are very good. Of course in a small percentage of cases something comes up at the 20 week scan but it's unlikely. Xx

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 18/10/2019 07:23

@gnat99 oh hope low bp sorts itself out! Annoying midwife is a week late for you. I did double check in my head but mines in ivf pregnancy so exactly sure if where I am 😂🤦‍♀️ Talk about obsessively counting down!! Ha

Sunshine8888 · 18/10/2019 08:44

At my last scan it looked as though my placenta is forming on the front wall. Is this anything to be worried about?

Sunshine8888 · 18/10/2019 08:45

@gnat99 I have low BP too, I’ve been ok so far but I did read that it can cause fainting as you get further into pregnancy 🤰🏽 Has it been worse for you in the second trimester? I’m not quite there yet! (12+1)

lannacorrea · 18/10/2019 16:54

@Sunshine8888 my placenta is also forming on the front. One doctor had told me that there's nothing to worry about, placenta can form anywhere. The thing about being on the front is that we may take longer to feel baby moving and kicking because it works like a cushion between the skin and the baby right on the front, but other than that, not a problem at all.
Xx

gnat99 · 18/10/2019 17:52

@Sunshine8888, I had a lot of dizziness and head rushes in the first few weeks that were probably BP-related. Then it calmed down for a few weeks, then started again around 13 weeks. I did nearly faint at work one day around then and felt pretty rotten for a few days - low BP confirmed by midwife & GP. Since then it’s been intermittent. Annoying since there is not much you can do about it except stay hydrated, eat regularly and try not to stand up too quickly!

Also, I had an anterior placenta first time round. At first I was disappointed, as I didn’t feel baby kick until 19/20 weeks. But later on I was quite glad to be cushioned from a lot of the kicks and wriggles!

Sunshine8888 · 18/10/2019 19:03

Thanks @lannacorrea and @gnat99 for the reassurance x

OddshoesOddsocks · 18/10/2019 20:25

Hi everyone! Hoping it’s ok to join, I’ve been looking for you for ages!

I’ve not RTFT, just marking my place so I can find you again!

I’ll be 13 weeks on Sunday and due 26.4.20. We’ve just announced to family but not told dc yet, not sure how to tackle that yet!

Good luck everyone, fingers crossed for a smooth 6 months for us all!

Dawn99 · 18/10/2019 21:14

@Catconfusion we’re in Ireland so I wonder if maybe it’s done a bit differently (worse!) over here. I’m trying hard to keep positive as I’ve no reason not to. But sometimes the mind goes to that place Sad

Greenwhale · 19/10/2019 07:23

Hey @Sunshine8888. At our scan yesterday I was told that I have an anterior placenta too. The sonographer didn't seem in the slightest concerned, I guess maybe it just means it might be a bit later for us to feel kicks than others. However from looking at all the boisterous movement in there yesterday, I feel that this may instead be a blessingGrin!!

Catconfusion · 19/10/2019 10:46

@Dawn99 I would say that's why then. I've heard before things are very different over there in terms of scans. I'm sure if anything was blindingly obvious they'd have still told you. Is it possible to get private reassurance scans over there? X

Leag1 · 20/10/2019 07:25

When is it normal to start showing? I feel my middle getting thicker and clothes a bit tight but no bump yet- 16+3 and my first pregnancy

Pip231018 · 20/10/2019 08:07

@Leag1 I'm 14 weeks and can see nothing. I searched Instagram for #14weekspregnant and it's completely varied from person to person. X

Realitysucks · 20/10/2019 08:49

@OddshoesOddsocks hi I’m due 26.04.20 too! Although after having 12 weeks scan last Monday they changed my date to 20.04.20. I did explain it was impossible and baby was just big as we have been TTC for a year, and after 2 failed rounds of IVF I had been tracking my cycles and know for a fact I didn’t ovulate till 05.08.19! On their dates apparently I ovulated on 31.07.19 but no way I did as Lmp was 21.07.19 and I didn’t even get LH surge till 02.08.19. I’m taking it with a pinch of salt as last DS was 2 weeks late. How old is dc?

bowielove · 20/10/2019 09:58

@Realitysucks Hello! My due date is 20 April according to my 12 week scan. By my LMP it should be 28 April but my cycles are usually 26 days on average and I ovulate on day 11 (I ovulated on 2 August). I have a ten year old son and was 8 days overdue with him so I think my original due date of 28 April will be more accurate!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 20/10/2019 10:19

@Leag1 I’m 16 +1 and just look a bit podgy. No bump 😫

OddshoesOddsocks · 20/10/2019 13:36

@Realitysucks hi! Mine is measuring big too! Approx 5 days bigger but they didn’t change my date, I’m pretty sure of mine too after tracking for so long.

Glad you’ve finally got good news after such a long journey!

Dc are 8 and 4, the 4 year old will be happy but not so sure about the 8 year old!!

hellololabells2019 · 20/10/2019 14:13

I'm 26/04 too!

It's my third baby so I have popped already (think fat rather than bump). What maternity trousers/leggings are recommended these days?

Charby87 · 20/10/2019 14:30

Hi, new to the group. Second pregnancy due 2nd April, found these groups really helpful last time along with the FB group that was set up and still have a weekly photo and questions coming through too. Hope all you ladies are doing well. Only 23 weeks to go!!

X

PrincessConsuela12 · 20/10/2019 16:36

Happy Sunday Ladies 😊

Does anyone know of any good baby name apps?

tacosplease · 20/10/2019 17:02

If baby was active, normal heart rhythm, you have a low Nuchal fold measurement and the facial profile looks normal your chances are very good.

@Catconfusion I have my 12 week scan on Tuesday - what do they look for in the facial profile, out of interest?

Also, does anyone know what range is considered to be a ”good/normal” nuchal fold measurement?

Catconfusion · 20/10/2019 18:05

@tacosplease congratulations on getting to this landmark. I think they just check the facial bones are growing normally. Also for cleft palates. If no comment was made then everything was normal. Only reason I queried it was because I'd heard the nasal bone can be missing with Downs. The doctor wouldn't comment on this. She just said facial structure was normal. My combined test came back extremely low risk so I was pleased with that.

A normal Nuchal measurement is between 1.5 and 2.4 mm I think X

tacosplease · 20/10/2019 18:34

@Catconfusion thanks - I haven’t had the scan yet but it’s good to go in prepared! x
