Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Had lovely scan, confirmed me 5 days behind LMP dates, which is exactly the same as the early scan said, so EDD is 20th April, but that will be 4th May (42 week date) to everybody I tell so there's no pestering for updates (Best bit of advice ever from Clemson Hooper who wrote How to Grow a Baby and Push It Out!) The baby was bouncing all over the place at the beginning then as soon as they went to do the NT settled down so I had to do some rather odd jiggles to get it moving 😁😁 Amazing how much detail there is compared to 3 weeks ago ♥️
I'd love to join the FB group also but can't remember who to message!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 02/10/2019 19:35

I’ve had my scan today too. All good in there. Matches due date already given via ivf so that’s all good too! Starting to feel a bit more real now!!!

ttc19 · 02/10/2019 19:43

@happymrsc It's interesting you said that about the "due date". When people ask when I'm due I just say March (I know this is the April group but in the early days I thought I'd be April). Some people have been quite funny about me not sharing the EDD.

happymrsc · 02/10/2019 20:17

@ttc19 yes it's something I decided ages ago I'd do as I've seen so many people being pestered 'any signs yet?' and I believe it genuinely makes a difference to when the baby will come as it gets your adrenaline going and adrenaline is not the friend of labour!!! But yes, I foresee issues with this too, my husband agrees totally with not sharing the date, I naively thought my mum would back me up but she was really quite cross about us keeping the due date vague (needless to say won't be sharing any of our other choices with her!) So think we're just going to say the actual 42 week one rather than a 'month', especially as the 42 weeks does cross into a new month!

Sorbfsiabs · 02/10/2019 20:26

@happymrsc if you can send me a link to your FB profile, I'll add you as a friend then can add you to the secret group x

BristolBear · 02/10/2019 21:05

@happymrsc @Whatelsecouldibecalled congratulations on your scans ladies!

Great idea about giving the 42 week date, I'm going to do that. Certainly takes the pressure/questioning off at that stage.

happymrsc · 02/10/2019 21:25

@Sorbfsiabs thanks, have sent!

@Bristolbear yeah i think it's a great idea!! definitely takes the pressure off, no need for extra pressure when you're fed up of waiting yourself!

littledinosaurs · 03/10/2019 06:19

Glad to hear you had good scans @happymrsc and @Whatelsecouldibecalled Smile Fab idea to use 42 weeks – I was going to vague and say April but might have to copy you.

We haven't told anyone yet and I am really really itching to now. We're starting with parents and in laws at the weekend and work will be next week. I'm impatient and anxious at the moment that it all goes well.

@Sorbfsiabs I have messaged you too. Would love to join the Facebook group please.

LokiCat · 03/10/2019 07:20

@happymrsc @Whatelsecouldibecalled congratulations on your scans ladies! Glad all went well.
I'm itching for mine to come along now! I can't wait to see them wiggling about.

@BristolBear I think I'll do the same as you. Have told both sets of parents, my manager and closest friends. Will most likely start telling others when I see them as soon as we've had our scan. Not one for posting all over social media.

Might just turn up with a baby on board badge and wait to see who notices at work. I've never been so excited to order something 😂

Hi all - I am actually due May 2020 but since you are a bit further along, I was hoping I can ask if the nausea has stopped for those of you who had it in the earlier weeks? I am at 6w4d and have really been struggling with nausea and being sick this week and hoping it will end soon! Any reassurances appreciated :)

littledinosaurs · 03/10/2019 09:09

Hi @woollycat. I'm 13+4. I last had nausea and throwing up at the weekend, both days. But it has definitely got a lot better/more sporadic since 11/12 weeks. I hope it'll be the same for you.

mrsrob90 · 03/10/2019 09:15

Hello all been a while since I posted on here! I am 11+5 today with my dates and my scan is tomorrow...🤞😦 so nervous and totally have pre scan anxiety! During this first trimester I have been to the EPU 2x and saw baby both times (7 weeks and last week at 10+5) but it doesn't make it any easier for me as I still keep thinking something will go wrong.
Also i am an admin on the fb group also if anyone would like adding just ask and I will be happy to do so! there is now over 60 of us ❤
x

Catconfusion · 03/10/2019 09:53

Hey @mrsrob90 I'm in a very similar boat. I had scans at EPU at 6 plus 4, 8 plus 5 and 10 plus 5. Every time baby has looked perfect. My 12 week scan is tomorrow when I will be 12 plus 4. I too am very worried after having a mmc and an early mc earlier in the year. Also I'm 40 years old so very much hoping this will be our first child. Fingers crossed for us both.

I will message about the facebook group! xx

mrsrob90 · 03/10/2019 09:58

@Catconfusion
Best of luck for yours tomorrow also mine is 9.30 so at least it's first thing 🤞 just going to be a long day today and a probably restless nights sleep! I know things can happen later on in pregnancy still but 12 weeks is the big milestone and I feel like once you get there it feels real and that this is actually happening 🤣 at moment it still doesn't feel like it is real sometimes! xx

Catconfusion · 03/10/2019 10:05

@mrsrob90 I can relate to that completely. It's a big milestone. Mine is at 10:50 so not long after yours. I just hope our babies are ok.

Statistically, it would have been far more likely for something to be wrong at the 7/8 scan. Once a pregnancy gets to 9 weeks and there's a heartbeat its highly likely to work out. Still doesn't stop the worry though. xx

elb1504 · 03/10/2019 10:36

@woollycat I'm still getting waves of sickness at 13+3 but nowhere near as bad as earlier on, so it does get better.

jessie0222 · 03/10/2019 10:36

It's so lovely seeing everyones scan pictures, mine is next Wednesday I'm so excited/nervous.
I am 12 + 2 is anyone else still having cramps? A bit worried and it's my belly as well as low cramps

Ruthsoph · 03/10/2019 11:07

@jessie0222 i was getting this type of cramps twinges this morning and was getting a little worried.

i am 11+5 today - have a scan at 7 wks and again last week for the harmony test so i am nervioulsy awaiting the results of that

girlanonymous · 03/10/2019 13:19

@woollycat Hi, for my first pregnancy I was sick basically for the entire pregnancy. I'm pretty certain it started out as hyperemesis gravidarum. With this one, I'm now 10+4 today and it's not every single day. Monday and Tuesday I had no sickness a slight nausea, but on Wednesday I threw up the whole day. Today's much better. It's very sporadic.

BristolBear · 03/10/2019 14:06

@woollycat I had awful nausea all day every day until last week (now 13+6) whereas now it's just occasionally and strong smells can set me off too, but even then it's not as bad as it was. I found that weeks 6-9 were the most challenging.

It felt like it would never feel better, thankfully it does!

Catconfusion · 04/10/2019 16:10

Hey ladies, just to let you know my 12 week scan went brilliantly. Baby was a little monkey but we got the measurements and all were normal. Now to wait for the bloods. We're so relieved being 40!after two losses. Hopefully I can relax a bit now! Xx

April 2020 Babies - Thread 2!
linwil · 04/10/2019 16:28

Hi everyone, I'd like to (cautiously) join you if you'll have me :) 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow with our 4th, due April 18. Wow, it's a little scary even typing that! I had a missed miscarriage last March and even though I feel as though things are going much more as they ought to be going I still feel as though I can't truly believe it's real until my first scan which will be Monday the 14th at 13 weeks. I've purposely waited with the first scan this time as last time I had a scan where all looked well at 5.5 weeks only to see at the 10 week scan the heartbeat had stopped. It's the standard where we live these days to be offered early scans, my first 3 pregnancies were all perfectly fine without any problems and in all 3 cases I didn't have a first scan till 12-13 weeks so I guess I'm a bit superstitious about it and also I didn't want to go through the first scan being fine and then the next being the opposite again. It's a long wait though! Happily this time around I'm nauseous as can be just like with my first three pregnancies, and last time around I wasn't at all, which in hindsight was a bit of a warning sign I suppose.

It's lovely seeing all of your pictures. Very many congrats to all of you!

littledinosaurs · 04/10/2019 18:06

Yay! Congrats @Catconfusion! Lovely picture! :)

Welcome @linwil. Not too long until your scan now - hopefully it will pass quickly for you.

Dawn99 · 04/10/2019 20:27

Anyone else get an occasional fast heartbeat? I’m 10+3 today and for a while this evening my heart was beating quite quickly. I don’t know why it happens. I’m not feeling stressed particularly and I’m just having a quiet evening alone (just the dog for company!). It happened a couple of weeks ago too but again didn’t last long. Blood pressure is normal or slightly low when I’ve been to dr.
Also my nausea is very minimal now and has been for the past 10 days or so. Should I be worried by this? Last scan was at 8 weeks and all looked good there.

ttc19 · 04/10/2019 21:17

Hi @Dawn99, Heart palpitations were one of my first "symptoms" x x
