Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

@Catconfusion I totally understand the anxiety. And the scans and Unfortunately the MMC. I'm 35 next month and also a geriatric mother. They also completely worked my BMI out wrong, so my notes say I'm a 27 stone geriatric mother. 😂

According to my LMP I was 12 weeks yesterday but according to my last scan I'm 11+3 today and my dating scan is tomorrow. I wish my LMP date was right, that way I'd almost be at the end of my 13 weeks.

Wishing lots of luck on Friday. Xx

happymrsc · 30/09/2019 07:03

@Pip231018 I was reading about this, there is apparently millimetres in it at this stage, the baby could be turned a few degrees towards your front or back which can affect the CRL measurement... I was researching this cos my scan at 9 weeks by LMP put me at 8+2, which I'm also hoping it wrong cos those five days mean I'm five days further from feeling crappy (hopefully!!!), same as you in difference!! Here's hoping our scans this week put it back to normal, even if it's only psychological 😂😂

happymrsc · 30/09/2019 07:41

Of course I meant five days further from feeling less crappy.... important difference between the two!!

Sunshine8888 · 30/09/2019 08:16

Well I’m measuring ten days behind LMP which is not cool! Ten days is an eternity to be put back by 😬 but main thing is all is looking as good as can be for this stage. Good luck to anyone having scans today x

Catconfusion · 30/09/2019 08:51

@Pip231018 could you have ovulated later? That's what's skewed my dates. Or definitely could be the equipment being slightly out at the scan.

The frustrating thing is I know when I ovulated and all my scans have been bang on what I expected. They've refused to change my notes though even though two and a half weeks out is a lot. Maybe they will after the dating scan.

Anyway good luck with your scan. It's such a big landmark! Xx

BristolBear · 30/09/2019 09:00

Good morning everyone, I'm also have my scan today and should be at 13 weeks exactly.

As with a lot of others I've spent the weekend feeling nervous about it. Wondering if the mild nausea I have is the return of my ms symptoms or worry! Boobs aren't tender anymore either, but keep telling myself I'm probably over analysing everything.

Wishing us all a very happy and healthy scan day x

BristolBear · 30/09/2019 09:02

Anyone else wondering how they're going to keep a full bladder for an hour and not pee themselves as soon as the wand thing presses down? 😂

user1488286290 · 30/09/2019 10:37

@BristolBear I didn't start drinking until 40 minutes before, pretty much walked into the appointment cross-legged and in quite some discomfort, and was sent to the loo after 5 minutes because baby was too squashed for them to do anything. As soon as I went back and they started scanning again baby had stretched right out!!

BristolBear · 30/09/2019 10:49

Thanks @user1488286290 I'm walking the 25mins from work to the hospital and feel like I'll be cross legged hopping all the way!

I am feeling that an hour before is too long, I'll aim for around 40min max too.

Fingers crossed they send me to the loo straight away too 🤞

littledinosaurs · 30/09/2019 10:59

My scan went well. I am so very relieved and can't wait to tell our families at the weekend Grin. I drank a bit but I'm glad I didn't drink too much as I had to jump up and down and wiggle my ass to get the baby to turn sideways!! They waved. Ahh it was great. I'm a week ahead of where I thought I was - due 5th April.

The sonographer confirmed what my midwife said – a full bladder isn't necessary nowadays unless you're on the very larger side. Possibly just my hospital?? 🤷‍♀️

Much luck to everyone having scans today xx

Now to concentrate at work.... Confused

happymrsc · 30/09/2019 11:19

@littledinosaurs ah what a lovely picture! Congratulations!

That's honestly so odd, maybe it's down to sonograoher preference, can't say I've ever heard it before! Oh well, no harm done, quicker to empty a bladder than fill it 😁

LokiCat · 30/09/2019 11:49

Ahh that's such a lovely scan @littledinosaurs! So pleased for you, congrats 😁
How funny that you had to jump and down and wiggle about to make baby move 😂 glad it cooperated in the end and gave you a wave!

Good luck to everyone else who has scans today! Only 15 days left till mine (not that I'm counting or anything Grin)

I went with a full bladder for the early scan just in case. Ran to the toilet when the receptionist mentioned it was going to be an internal one!
Good luck whilst walking to the hospital! @BristolBear 😂

Hi everyone, it's been a while!

I've been feeling pretty rubbish the past few weeks with a holiday in-between so I've been absent from here. I'm 10 weeks now and had an early scan at 8 weeks which was so lovely and comforting to see the heartbeat. My dating scan is on 15th October so we must be scan buddies @LokiCat 😊

Congratulations @littledinosaurs what a wonderful scan photo! Good luck to everyone else having their scans today xx

BristolBear · 30/09/2019 12:54

Great scan photo @littledinosaurs I'm not sure how you can concentrate at work after that!

Time is dragging for me, scan is not for another couple of hours.

elb1504 · 30/09/2019 12:55

@littledinosaurs Lovely picture, Congratulations!

My scan went well too, I'm a few days ahead now too due 6th April. I was dying for a wee when I went in and the sonographer commented on my full bladder haha! Baby was wriggling a lot and turning over so they ended up taking ages to get measurements.

Good luck to everyone else having scans!

otterbaby · 30/09/2019 13:28

Afternoon everybody, could I request some positive thoughts please!

11 weeks tomorrow and have just had a massive shock - fresh, bright red blood. I've had 2 scans already (6 weeks and 8 weeks) and they saw heartbeats at each scan and all looked well...just panicking now as I don't know what this might mean.

My hospital has graciously offered to book me for a last minute scan tomorrow morning, so I'm just focusing on that and trying not to let my mind get carried away.

Catconfusion · 30/09/2019 13:53

@otterbaby I'm sorry to hear about your bleed. Could sex have triggered it? There are lots of extra blood vessels near the cervix during pregnancy so one can easily burst whether you've had sex or not. I do hope everything is ok! Xx

@elb1504 and @littledinosaurs congratulations on your scans! Xx

MrsG3 · 30/09/2019 13:55

Didn't want to just disappear without saying goodbye but our dating scan showed our little ones heart stopped around 6 weeks so it's not meant to be for us this time. Thank you lovely ladies for all your support in our first few weeks and I wish you all healthy happy pregnancies. Lots of love to you all xxx

happymrsc · 30/09/2019 14:06

@MrsG3 so sorry to hear that, thinking of you x

Catconfusion · 30/09/2019 14:31

@MrsG3 My heart breaks for you. I was in a very similar position back in February, 10 weeks baby got to 6. It's so unlucky and I hope you're ready to try again soon if that's what you want. In the meantime been kind to yourself and rest up. I found it took me a few months to fully recover but I got there. Thinking of you today! Xx

LokiCat · 30/09/2019 16:07

@MrsG3 I'm so so sorry to hear your heartbreaking news. Take care of yourself. I have everything crossed that it will happen again for you when you're ready. Thinking of you xx

@otterbaby hope all goes well at your scan in the morning, glad they've got you in. Everything crossed for you! X

@elb1504 congratulations, lovely! Beautiful scan photo x

@MrsG3 sorry to hear that. I'm sending all the love xx

The scan went well but I still have to wait for the results. The baby looks healthy and is growing fast.

Based on the genital nub theory, I think I'm having a girl? Any guesses? X

Catconfusion · 30/09/2019 17:05

Congrats @nicoletia that's a beautiful image. I must read up on Nub theory. It's so interesting! Xx

littledinosaurs · 30/09/2019 17:50

Thanks all!

Lovely scan photos @elb1504 @nicoletia! @BristolBear fingers crossed for you.

I'm so sorry @MrsG3. Take good care of yourself for the next little while xxx
