Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

How many weeks are you Happy? I've had that recently (am 11+6) - having eased off it came back with a vengeance really bad for two days and now (touch all the wood) seems to have mostly gone again.

It sucks so much. Fingers crossed for you that it leaves again!

otterbaby · 27/09/2019 13:49

Hi all, new poster here! Currently 10+3 and due 21st April 2020 ☺️

Just curious...I went for my booking appt on the 19th. The week before that, I had a scan at the hospital as I had a bit of minor bleeding. My midwife said that because of that, we wouldn’t get a 12 week scan but would still have a scan around the same time for a few screening tests.

I’m meant to be waiting for a letter - how long does it take?! I’m away on holiday for a week starting the 5th so anxious that my letter will come while I’m gone and I’ll miss it...is it incredibly obnoxious to ring the hospital to try to book an appt sooner rather than later?

Ruthsoph · 27/09/2019 14:11

@Sunshine8888 Wishing you well tomorrow - i am sure everything will be pefect xxx

BristolBear · 27/09/2019 14:50

@Sunshine8888 I'm sure everything will be fine, let us know how the scan goes. I've read a few bits that make me worry too. It can be upsetting but try not to let any of it get to you as I believe people will post more often for support when they are worried or have had bad news (I would too) rather than when everything is fine - but that can make it seem like the not so good stuff is a lot more common. Thinking about it like that helps me.

@happymrsc I had the worst nausea ever and it was constant (wasn't ever actually sick) all day until the late evening. Then it seemed to ease off a little at around 10 weeks and then came back just as strong by 11. Over the last week it seems to have gone again aside from occasional minor nausea and still have the tiredness. So for me it seemed to come and go for a few weeks until into week 12 where it seems to be fading. I'm 13 weeks on Monday, but have heard it is not uncommon for it to come and go until around week 15 or 16.

Pip231018 · 27/09/2019 15:12

@otterbaby I would 100% ring. I've never heard that they wouldn't do the scan if you're having the DS tests. They have to do that between 11-14 weeks to measure the fluid at the back of the babies neck.

I booked in Tuesday evening and got my letter Thursday morning and my scan is Tuesday next week. X

otterbaby · 27/09/2019 15:35

Thanks @Pip231018 gave them a ring and booked in for the 11th! This is my first pregnancy and I just have to laugh, I really thought I would be calm and collected throughout Confused

Sorbfsiabs · 27/09/2019 15:59

Great news otter :)

Pip231018 · 27/09/2019 16:18

@otterbaby I don't think 'calm and relaxed' exists in the first trimester. I had a MMC in May, bled for two weeks during this pregnancy, it's just an emotional rollercoaster. I worry about everything then worry if I'm not worried. Ha! X

LokiCat · 27/09/2019 16:22

@Sunshine8888 I have everything crossed that all will be fine tomorrow for you. Let us know how your scan goes!

@Bookworm83 congratulations! Glad all was fine with the Harmony test results.

@lannacorrea congratulations to you too! Glad all the results were fine as well.

Tbh, I didn't even think of doing the Harmony test. We'll probably see how the dating scan goes and then go from there if I'm still worried!

Can't wait for my dating scan! Still 3 weeks to go!

Thank you @Ruthsoph, @BristolBear and @LokiCat for your support, it means a lot x

happymrsc · 27/09/2019 21:48

@littledinosaurs @BristolBear I'm 11+2, it's just taken me by surprise that it's gotten worse! Glad I'm not the only one (in a non-sadistic way obviously!!) It was just nausea before but it's vomiting now too, which is just cack to deal with isn't it. Oh well, guess I should be happy things are progressing well as I'm also starting to get a very teeny tiny bump above my pelvic bone (probably more visible because i've lost weight) so all positives, even if it doesn't feel like it Hmm

Jessem29 · 27/09/2019 22:37

Hi everyone.

So havnt wrote anything in a while. We have had a crazy few weeks. We found out we are actually expecting twins. Unfortunately we have now miscarried both twins (we lost each at diffrent times 6 weeks and 9 weeks) I have had to have surgical intervention due to my body not miscarrying naturally. Its been a tough time.
I just wanted to wish everyone good luck in there journey and I wish nothing but happy and healthy pregnancy for you all!
Lots of love x

happymrsc · 27/09/2019 22:55

@Jessem29 so sorry for your loss, hope you and your partner are as well as you could be and life is a bit more gentle for you going forward xx

littledinosaurs · 28/09/2019 09:11

@Jessem29 I'm so sorry you lost your twins. Take care Thanks xxx

Sunshine8888 · 28/09/2019 12:48

I’m so sorry @Jessem29 😥

Just to let you know all went well at my scan today but I’m moving into the May group because as I suspected I’m actually dating around 9 weeks rather than 10+2. Due date now 3rd May! I’m feeling very relieved and will keep checking in on you ladies to see how you’re all doing 💕

Greenwhale · 28/09/2019 15:39

@Jessem29 so sorry to hear your update. I hope you are recovering well and have lots of support around you both Flowers

elb1504 · 29/09/2019 16:59

@Jessem29 Sorry to hear this, I hope you are looking after yourselves.

I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow and I know a few others here had too, anyone else anxious about it? I had a scan at 9 weeks and all was ok but keeping thinking the worst!

littledinosaurs · 29/09/2019 17:25

Me. Been so nervous all weekend.

I read on the bounty app you should have a full bladder but I asked my midwife about that and she looked very confused and said it wasn't necessary. So I'm not going to... but I still kinda wonder if it helps?

nicoletia · 29/09/2019 17:45

I've got my scan tomorrow as well and I'm really stressed about it especially where my midwife has classed me as "older mother" (I'm 33 btw and it's my first pregnancy). My last private scan turned out okay but I was 9 weeks then so obviously I'm worried now as they can actually see the baby's organs and brain.

Plus I really want to tell work ASAP...

elb1504 · 29/09/2019 17:53

@littledinosaurs @nicoletia Thank God it's not just me proper having a meltdown about it today! My letter says to have a full bladder for the scan btw think it helps see baby better.

I cant believe at 33 you're classed as an 'older mother' how silly when so many people in their 40s have healthy pregnancies.

MrsG3 · 29/09/2019 18:05

Our scan tomorrow too, my third baby but extremely nervous as I'm now 36 😖

Dumbo1981 · 29/09/2019 18:39

I am also due a 12 week scan tomorrow and feeling highly anxious. Also supposed to be exchanging on a new house tomorrow. Definitely more nervous about the former. Timing wise you couldn't make it up.

Particularly worried as this is my first pregnancy after many, many years of trying and now very firmly in the older mother camp at 38.

Fingers and toes crossed for everyone having scans tomorrow or in the coming weeks.

Really could do with a gin to tske the edge off my nerves but will make do with cake insteadCake

Greenwhale · 29/09/2019 18:49

Good luck for everyone having scans tomorrow. Got my fingers and toes crossed for you!

Catconfusion · 29/09/2019 20:29

Hey ladies, I'd like to join if I can. I'm 40 years old and this is my first baby after a mmc and mc earlier in the year. I'm 12 weeks with my dating scan on Friday. My due date is probably middle of April. My MW is obsessed with my LMP indicating my due date is 30th March but I ovulated 32 days into my cycle. I've also had four scans already that have dated baby about two weeks behind the midwife.

It's been an anxious time and I've been really sick, still am but it's beginning to feel more real now. Thought it would be nice to chat to ladies at a similar stage.

Good luck to those having scans tomorrow! X

happymrsc · 29/09/2019 20:43

@littledinosaurs odd that she reacted like that.. i'd always advise someone to have a full bladder, in the vast majority of women your uterus is still hidden mostly behind your pelvis so it helps push it upwards a bit. I've known them to send people to sit with a glass of water and try again in an hour so I'd save yourself the hassle!

My scan is on Wednesday, cautiously excited but like you all I'm nervous too. Feeling fairly confident with the symptoms that all is well but I know it doesn't always mean it is. Here's hoping we all have lovely healthy scans to share this week x
